My volume with drop as if it's getting a notification, it will go from full volume and drop to much lower, the volume slider doesn't actually move it's as if I'm getting a notification but I'm not. This can last to upto a minute sometimes and it doesn't matter whether I'm listening to audio through headphones, speakers or Bluetooth. It still occurs. Please tell me what I need to do because this is really bugging me as I really love listening to music.
Does it only happen with stock music app? If so, clear cache and data of music app and see if that helps. Otherwise you should probably do a factory reset or repair your phone with Xperia Companion.
No because it also happens on YouTube and things like that - Same account btw

Hey,
I have had a HTC Touch sins 5th of December and i have found a problem I'm not sure if anyone is aware but its quite annoying. The sound through headphones and even to the extent of through the speakers is very quite and I'm not sure what i can do to improve that. Is there some kind of update or something. I could understand the phone speaker being quite and i don't partiuclly mind that but when trying to use it to listen to music or watch a film i find i can't even make out what there saying.
I don't have bad hearing so it can't be that.
Thanks for any help you can provide in advance
Did you make sure that your device volume is turned up all the way? Also make sure that your media player volume is turned up all the way.
It may also be that the media files you are playing have very low volume. Compare this by playing these files on your computer - do you have to turn your computer speakers up high just to hear? this would confirm low sound right in media file.
Do you have wow or srswow or whatever it is called installed. I have heard others having problems with this installed on their devices. this could be the problem. Uninstaling did not work in their case and they had to perform a hard reset (possibly because it had changed registry settings) I don't know if there is any other explanation or solution to your problem. The only time I have ever experienced low sound volume was when my volume settings were set low and I forgot to turn them back up.
to my knowledge there's no way of increasing hardware volume..
you can amplify the media using Goldwave or something.. and check that the volume meter is up all the way both in your media player and on your device.
Hi all,
Recently updated to official ICS. I like to listen to music on my HTC, and I found a major glitch. Whenever you are playing music (with the stock player), and there is another system sound (ie SMS notification), the entire media volume of the phone dies.
For example, I am listening to music and I receive a SMS. I hear the SMS and the music stops playing. I check the music app and the slider is still moving but there is no sound. After that point there is NO media volume at all! I start a game. No sound. I start a video. No sound. Youtube. No sound. Only way to fix this is restart the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I wanna play a game. I start the game and the game has its own sound. The music stops playing and the game sounds are also now gone. Only way to get any sound back is to restart.
Basically whats happening is if there ANY other non-music sound, it ends up killing the phone's Media volume. Only way to fix is restart.
Anyone else have this problem?
Running stock ICS 4.0.3 Vodafone Australia ROM.
Sounds like a fluke - cause this doesn't really happen to anyone else. Since you're stock, the way to fix most issues is to wipe your data and start from scratch. Most people who have random issues like this do that and it clears up.
Not its not a fluke. I can reproduce it even after a factory reset. It only happens with stock player not another player I downloaded from Play.
Maybe its a problem with the Vodafone ROM.

If you can reproduce the issue with a factory reset then perhaps you could try flashing your RUU and see if the issue persists. I do know that what you're describing is NOT a wide spread problem, and that means it's either isolated to your device or to VODA's build...

I meant fluke as in only happening to you, not only happening once.
Try Grogg's advice. Hell, flash his rom, music player works great in it.
Similar issue here
I'd just like to say I have a similar issue with mine. If i am listening to music and receive an SMS or email notification then the music volume increases to match that of the notification. Pressing either volume up or down then changes it one step from the original volume.
I also have another issue with the default music player. If I am listening to music at work, press pause then remove the headphones (when leaving my desk for a short while) after plugging headphones back in when I press play the sound quality is often seriously distorted. Pressing pause then play again always seems to sort this out...
I've noticed 3 or 4 little bugs with the latest (UK) release on my phone, I keep expecting another update to sort them out but so far nothing...

I have got the same problem. HTC Sensation, stock ICS 4.0.3 (3.33.401.53). Have you found the solution ?
I've no idea where this belongs so I thought I'd go as general as possible.
Is there a way to match my notification/ringer volume with my media volume whenever headphones are plugged in?
I'm constantly deafened when I'm listening to music on low volume and a notification goes off full bore because I've forgot to turn them down. If I remember to turn notifications/ringer down then I tend to forget to turn it back up and l end up with missed calls because I plug the phone into computer speakers to play music and can't hear it ring.
I know the easiest solution to this problem is a good memory but does anyone know of a more reliable option?
Phone details if anyone cares
If it matters I'm using a Telstra HTC one XL (same as the one X on ATT) fully stock, unrooted on 4.0.3. I figured it was more of a general android thing which is why I posted it here. I'd definitely root for a fix but I'd rather not flash a ROM until CM10 or AOKP are almost 100%
Thanks guys!

Hello all,
First of all, I am no native english speaker so excuse my english, I'll do my best so you can undertand.
Second, I've tried to find a post or any help before posting, but I did not reset my phone.
Well, I will try to explain whats going on with my moto g:
A couple weeks ago, suddenly, I was making a call and the sound was going on and off, with no apparent reason. I thought it was my or the other person network.
After that, I guess that same afternoon, I noticed the speaker wasn't working when playin a video or any sound.
Since then it's always the same, the speaker sometimes works, sometimes not. When playing a video or sound, if the speaker is not working I shake or hit (with care hehe) the phone and it gets to work, but usually stops again soon. Usually there is no sound when receivin a notification, when receiving a call it works at first at least. When the alarm sounds, its pretty strange: looks like it would be trying to sound, and quickly decrease the volume, I dont know how to explain it, but I can not rely on the phone alarm.
Another strange thing, is that when I volume up or down, sometimes it changes the volume of the ring (volume when receiving a call or notfication, dont know how to explain it in english), and sometimes what seems to be the media volume (multimedia), but that is actually not the media volume because its in a different level than the one when I change the volume level when playing a video or media. I dont know how to explain it better...
I haven't tried with headphones. I did wipe cache and dalvik cache. I'm on android 4.4.4, using Dalvik. rooted and bootloader unlocked. Xposed, gravitybox, minminguard and motoguide installed.
I don't know what else can I tell you...if there is anything I can do let me know.
Thank you
If just poking or shaking the phone makes the speaker works means that some contact it's not sodered correctly so just take it to the service center and it will be repaired
So basically what happens is as I play a song on any platform may it be spotify or youtube, the volume setting is on max and it plays like normal but then the actual 'volume' of the speaker reduces to barely anything. This also applies to anytime when the speaker is being used during calls as well on Loudspeaker. When I use it through bluetooth it's fine, so I'm guessing it's some software glitch. I also updated some apps a while ago so I figured it was that but no. Even after a factory reset to original settings it didn't work. Same thing.
Play something and it starts loud and clear and then 5 seconds later it slowly reduces the volume and stays low. Also I haven't rooted this phone yet, but if I have to I am willing.
