Hi guys,
I just noticed that my Mate 9 (L29) doesn't play any notification sounds and doesn't ring. The speakers are fine and this happened out of nowhere - no crash or anything. The phone doesn't even vibrate. Is there any way to fix it without doing a factory reset?
Cheers,
D
EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out right after posting.

Halo everyone, I just flash the new Rom to my 32A magic.
I find everything works fine,,,,but but but!!!!
Lastly, I realise that the speaker doesn't make any sounds out!
No sound when I play music, phone sounds, notice sounds, calling in/out.
None of them works.
I already switch to the Max Volume but still in vain.
What's the problem? Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
shouldnt you post it in the thread which rom u're flashing?

Is it happen after you use camera in some app like twitter or google buzz widget?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
This happened to me too when flashing cm6 RC1, I have 32a. Tried wiping and reflashing, same thing, no sound whatsoever. Then flashed alan90s cm6-mod just to check, that worked for some reason, now I have sound and everything is normal.
I'm going to close this because it was posted in the wrong section.
Thread merged/deleted/moved/locked!!! This is DEVELOPMENT section not General!!!!
If you want me to open it back up again then I need exe127 to send me a private message requesting where that it should be moved.
Anyone else notice this? Kind of frustrating.. I have to turn the device off and back on..
sound just up and cuts out completely.. one second it's working, another it's not.
EDIT: Sorry mods, I forgot to click over to General before posting.
I use Spotify for music on my M8, and while I've searched all over for a solution I just can't figure this out. When I receive a notification, the music pauses indefinitely. Only when I clear the notification does the music resume. This is contrary to every other Android device I've ever owned, where putting the device on silent or vibrate would stop the music from pausing at all. I've never had one that didn't resume a second or two later.
So, does anybody have any advice for me on this? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, I gave that a shot but nothing. I did realize though that it only happens on Bluetooth, not with headphones attached. I'm all out of ideas.

There is a setting or option somewhere (cant think of exactly where atm) that disallows apps to read notifications. Try disabling that if you can find it. Sounds like notifications are stealing the audio focus from spotify

Thanks again for trying to help. I know exactly what you're talking about, but I can't find it on the stock ROM either. Either HTC must have removed the ability to do that, or Google did in 4.4.2. Anyway, thanks again. I guess I'll just cross my fingers that they've fixed it in the new version of Spotify that is supposed to come out soon.

That was removed by Google in 4.4.2, was it not?
Download it from play store and turn notification off for that app. Works perfect!

How do I stop the screen from timing out when watching videos.
This is a question for a friend who owns the Mate 8. I own the Pixel. This isn't a problem for him in the YouTube app or YouTube via chrome browser. However, if I play a video on say vimeo.com, his display goes to sleep at the set parameter in settings. On my Pixel, vimeo.com continues to play, ignoring sleep settings.
Can anyone reproduce this behaviour? What could be wrong here? Why is YouTube working fine but other websites not doing so? Are these the kinds of reasons why you stick with reputable corporations like Google and avoid up and coming corps like huawei?
Unfortunately I don't have a solution, but I confirm that I have the same problem too on my mate 8.

You can click 'report' on the bottom of the right hand side of the original post, explain briefly you are asking for it to be deleted. It's a good idea to do it, clutter is a nuisance.
