[ROOT] Phoenix 2.1.1 Rooted system.img - Download Links Fixed - Miscellaneous Android Development

Hi I have a rooted 64bit system.img file for download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3gcDbDvV4MkbE5CTjV4N2paRFk/view?usp=drivesdk
The MD5 is A69C0B4A45B5D19B771098DB606A7A9C
Here is the rooted 32bit system.img file for download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3gcDbDvV4MkVzJVcXZhSUthSVk/view?usp=drivesdk
The MD5 is ACC8FC7AAC52B48B770A1ABCC5F6C46
Note that I have not tested the 32bit. Please report back if it is working
If you have not run Phoenix 2.1 on your device before then please do a test install of Phoenix 2.1.1 Stock to ensure that it works on your device. These rooted images DO NOT affect whether Phoenix 2.1.1 boots on your device. After you do a test install and boot, you MUST uninstall Phoenix 2.1.1 stock before performing the following procedure.
To use this system.img:
1. Download the rooted system.img from above link
2. Do fresh install of 32 or 64 bit Phoenix 2.1.1 DO NOT TRY TO RUN PHOENIX YET
3. Navigate to the PhoenixOS folder of the drive on which you installed Phoenix
4. Delete or rename the stock system.img in the folder
5. Copy the downloaded rooted system.img into the PhoenixOS folder
6. Proceed with reboot and allow Phoenix OS to go through initialization
7. IMMEDIATELY after booting Phoenix OS, download SuperSU update from the Play Store
8. You will be prompted to update binaries... select Normal method.
9. After binaries are updated, reboot Phoenix OS and you should have root access

I wanted to report that the links are not copied correctly. Please fix it. Thanks

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE FLASHING YOUR PHONE SO THAT YOU WON'T BRICK IT.
EDIT: 14 January 2015. Updated the TWRP 2.8.2.0 download link. Fixed the problem where ADB and MTP was not functioning in TWRP. Added backup support for a few other partitions including the Baseband.
EDIT: 19 January 2015. Changed method of rooting and added flashable zip with modified kernel to add init.d support (that was tested and is functioning properly.)
STEP 1
BACKUP YOUR MEDIATEK DEVICE
Prerequisites
All of the software is for Windows.
Download and Extract the MTK USB Drivers and the SP Flash Tool found closest to the top of the list at:
http://mtk2000.ucoz.ru/
Press the play button to the right of the file to start the download.
Download MTK Droid Root & Tools
Latest version can be found by following the link of the following post.

Hint: Click the show content button to see the link to another forum with the download link
Direct Download Link of MTK Droid Root & Tools if you are having problems getting the link.
http://depositfiles.com/files/ne1gnposp
You will need Winrar to extract the files.
That can be downloaded from: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
READ HERE ON HOW TO BACKUP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38337401&postcount=5
Thanks to @rua1 for the instructions and software.
NOTE: I WOULD RECOMMEND BACKUPING UP THE USRDATA PARTITION AS WELL TO DO THAT USE HEX "0X96B40000" AS THE LENGTH DURING READ BACK IN SP FLASH TOOL
To flash the DASH 5.0 you need to use the Preloader to do it.
STEP 2
Installing the Preloader Driver (READ this section entirely before trying)
Open Device Manager
Start -> Run
Type:
Code:
devmgmt.msc
Press Enter
Turn off the phone until it is completely shut down with nothing plugged in the USB port. You will see the screen go black and shortly afterwards it will vibrate.
With Device Manager open, connect the USB cable to the phone without turning it on.
You will see the MT65XX Preloader appear (see image)

}
Quickly double click MT65XX Preloader before it disappears, if it disappered, just unplug and plug back in the cable and try again.
Under the Driver tab, click Update Driver, click Browse my computer for driver software.
Using the Browse button find the MTKUSBAll folder you extracted and click on "New inst. win 7&8x64" and click OK
Click Next
If you get the message "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software", just click "Install this driver software anyway"
Click Close
Click Close
After the driver is installed you can unplug the phone.
STEP 3
Uploading the image files to the phone{/B}
WARNING: The BLU-DASH-5.0_141022_BLU-D410a-V27-GENERIC_FOR_SP_FLASH_TOOL.zip file has all of the necessary images but do not flash them unless you trying to recover from a brick.
DO NOT FLASH THE PRELOADER.BIN AS IT MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE.
THE ONLY FILES I HAVE PERSONALLY TESTED ARE boot.img, factory_NONmodified_recovery.img and system.img
Download BLU-DASH-5.0_141022_BLU-D410a-V27-GENERIC_FOR_SP_FLASH_TOOL.zip from here:
http://d-h.st/3L9G
See Step 5
Extract the SP Flash Tool.
Extract the system.img and MT6572_Android_scatter.txt (and/or boot.img and factory_NONmodified_recovery.img, if you wish)
Open the SP Flash Tool
Click the Download tab
Click the Scatter-loading button and select the MT6572_Android_scatter.txt file.
Click the location of ONLY the parition(s) you are going to flash: ANDROID = SYTEM partition (system.img), BOOTIMG = KERNEL (boot.img) and RECOVERY=RECOVERY (factory_NONmodified_recovery.img or custom recovery file)
Select the image file (e.g. system.img or system_rooted.img)
MAKE SURE ALL OTHERS ARE NOT TICKED
Click the Download button.
Plug in the phone or unplug and plug it back in to start flashing the images to the phone.
Note: This can also be done with the battery removed.
Your phone will have root.
STEP 4 - Adding TWRP
First we need to rename the file recovery-from-boot.p found in the /system folder.
Using a File Manager with root permissions rename
Code:
recovery-from-boot.p
to
Code:
recovery-from-boot.bak
OR
From an adb shell, rename the file
Code:
su
cd /system
mv recovery-from-boot.p recovery-from-boot.bak
Now turn off the phone and with SP Flash Tool flash TWRP 2.8.2.0. Download link below.
NOTE: Select only the RECOVERY partition to flash. TWRP themes are supported as well as the Aroma File Manager.
http://d-h.st/aQmt
STEP 5 - Rooting and adding init.d support
Go to http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
Download the latest SuperSU.
Go to http://d-h.st/AJQ
Download the init.d support zip file.
Boot to TWRP while connected to a PC with adb tools run the command
Code:
adb reboot recovery[/url]
OR
Hold down the power select Reboot and hold down the volume up button until you see the TWRP logo.
Via the install menu, flash the SuperSU zip and inti.d support zip.
ALL DONE!
THANKS:
[user=631273]@Chainfire[/user] for SuperSU
[user=5119815]@rua1[/user] for MTK Droid Root & Tools and instructions on how to use SP Tools
[user=4478781]@yuweng[/user] for creating the tool to make TWRP for MediaTek devices
[user=912474]@Dees_Troy[/user] for TWRP
I will give a brief explanatoin and will elaborate more when I have the time.
For Root:
Thanks to @Chainfire
I basically mounted the system.img in a Linux OS and copied the files from the SuperSU v2.36 zip file and placed them in their relevant directories added the relevant permissions, etc.
For init.d scripts
Thanks to @alireza7991
See his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287540
I modified the kernel to boot and created a flashable zip that adds busybox to /system/xbin and creates the necessary folders then flashes the modified kernel.
For TWRP:
Thanks to @yuweng
I used Easy Magic TWRP Installer for MTK. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53752834#post53752834
It worked but changed my partition information for some reason even though the size fit my paritition size. I wiped my phone and lost my baseband and recovered it. Posted a new thread on how to do that. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/restore-baseband-mt65xx-devices-t2967949
That is why I posted the image file so no one has to face that problem too. I tested it and it is functioning without any problems.
You can follow yuweng's thread to make it smaller if your partition size is smaller than 6MB for some phones, at a cost of course.
Anyone looking for baseband files can check http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/restore-baseband-mt65xx-devices-t2967949
For anyone wanting to use Link2SD on this, I have created a flashable zip to use with a custom recoveery that adds init.d support, installs Link2SD as a system app and adds a modified mount script that functions properly.
Requires root and a SD card with the second partition formatted as EXT4.

Your phone is a BLU Dash 5.0 D410a and NOT the 5.0+ or 5.0 Studio right?
It sounds like your kernel (boot.img) is not booting the /system partition. Try flashing the /system and recovery partitions only for now and see what happens. Do not flash the boot.img
Thanks for you le answer! Thats right, is a Blu Dash 5.0 D410a, I try on Monday the suggested and post results!!!
Hi again, flashed system and recovery only, stuck on Blu screen again, try wipe and reset cache, stuck on screen Blu,any recomendation??

I'm having the same problem as Jorgefar. Mine is on v24 instead of v14 though after the factory update to 4.4.2. I rooted it with kingroot, but I would like to have twrp recovery. I've done everything you instructed him, but mine gets stuck in the bootloop as well. I thought i could just flash the recovery, and did the rename on the recovery file, but that didn't work still had factory recovery. After that I did the entire procedure and got the bootloop.

After installing TWRP you need boot into TWRP before booting into Android and install the latest SuperSU. The install-recovery.sh will replace TWRP with the stock recovery on the first boot if SuperSU is not installed, which renames it.
After flashing TWRP with the Smart Phone Flash Tool, disconnect the cable, press the power button and then hold the volume up button to enter TWRP.

I probably need to redo the steps for a couple of the posts.
Download the TWRP at http://d-h.st/aQmt
Upload it to the phone. Make sure that only recovery is ticked in the Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool) and select the file you downloaded. You should be able to figure out the rest based on my instructions.
Flash SuperSU which can be downloaded from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
It will rename the file that would put back the original recovery.
That should be it.
got it working thanks. are their any custom roms for the d410a?

[Guide & Download Links] UHANS A101S TWRP & Custom ROM

Hello,
I have successfully installed TWRP and a custom ROM on a UHANS A101S. And now I want to share the files and instructions, because they come from Russian forum 4pda.ru (thanks and credits to them).
Warning: I do not take any responsibility for whatever outcome you have when trying this on your device. It worked for me, but everything you do is your own risk.
Now, here's how it worked for me:
(Instructions are for UHANS A101S only, NOT for A101)
Installation of TWRP:
1. Download TWRP recovery image for UHANS A101S. Check that you get the correct recovery.img for your firmware build. Also download the scatter file for the UHANS A101S.
2. Download SP Flash Tool and driver for UHANS A101S.
3. Install driver on your PC and reboot your PC.
4. Unpack SP Flash Tool. Unpack scatter file. Put scatter file in same folder as recovery.img file.
5. On your phone, enable USB debugging mode in developer settings. (To activate developer settings menu, tap 7 times on your build number in Settings > About).
6. Switch off phone. Remove battery. Wait for 10 seconds. Put battery back into your phone, but don't start it! Keep it switched off.
7. Start SP Flash Tool with Admin permission. Click "scatter-loading" and navigate to the folder where you unpacked the scatter file and select it. Make sure that "Download Only" is selected in drop-down menu on the left. Then click the "Download" button in SP Flash Tool.
8. Connect your phone to the USB port of your PC and press Volume Up on your phone, so SP Flash Tool will recognize it.
9. If everything goes fine, in SP Flash Tool a red progress bar at the bottom turns yellow, then green and finally you get a pop-up with a green check mark.
10. Now you can boot into TWRP. To do so, unplug phone from PC and press Power On and Volume Up simultaneously.
Download links for installing custom recovery TWRP for UHANS A101S:
Download from Mediafire
(For the recovery.img file, choose DRV.TEST version if you see this appendix in your firmware version. Otherwise, option v3.05 is correct).
If you want to restore stock recovery, recovery image from firmware version 3.05 is available too.
To install custom ROM, download your preferred ROM, copy it to your phone and flash from within TWRP.
Custom ROMs for UHANS A101S:
CLEAN MOD (Stock ROM without bloat)
MOKEE ROM (Gapps: no, root: no)
Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 (Gapps: no, root: yes)
To get Google Play store, flash Gapps package.
Download Gapps package here (choose ARM and Android 6.0):
http://opengapps.org
(Pico or Nano package recommended).
If you want root access and if it's not included in the ROM, you can flash SuperSU Zip using TWRP:
SR2-SuperSU-v2.79-SR2-20170103215521.zip
Stock ROM from UHANS (via SP Flash Tool):
https://mega.nz/#F!lX5BGKJS!pVksNANFfS2R8Jrpy6O1XQ
Source: http://www.uhans.cc/Service/index
A new custom rom
Hey guy! Thanks for your ROMs, I have Uhans A101S and they worked properly but I wanted to try something else with a google stock experience and so I wanna ask you if you can create another custom ROM (like lineage os) for this device.
Thanks a lot!

Need boot.img FRD-L09 B404

Hello everyone.
I unlocked a bootloader in my freshly bought Honor 8 last week and I the first thing I did was to flash a root package (obviously). I'm used to SuperSU, so tha's what I flashed. Then I found out about Magisk. I want to try it, but I need to flash stock boot.img in order to install it. My build number is FRD-L09C432B404 (EMUI 5.0, Android 7.0). Could anyone upload corresponding boot img? I'd be thankful.
Do it yourself! ^^

Hello!
You can do it yourself, just follow these steps:
1) Download your firmware (update.zip) from hicloud url: update.zip
2) Extract zip
3) Download "Huawei Update Extractor 0.9.9.5" (zip file): HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.5.zip
4) Extract zip
5) Open "HuaweiUpdateExtractor.exe" extracted from previous step
6) Click on the 2 dots button and navigate to the file to add the "UPDATE.APP" file ( extracted from step 2) ), it will show you all the files like boot.img , recovery.img , recovery2.img , system.img , etc.
7) Select "BOOT.img" and right-click > "Extract Selected". Choose this destination folder: Where fastboot/adb are installed.
8) Use fastboot command to flash "BOOT.img":
Code:
fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
Hope it helps you!
I'd rather not download 1.3GB of firmware for the sake of one small boot.img which can't be bigger than 50MBs, not to mention additional software I'll use probably never again, so I'd be thankful if someone sent already extracted boot

It´s inside the file "update.app". You need a special tool to extract.
Please take a look to this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m5/how-to/root-root-guide-huawei-mediapad-m5-t3786157
From the M5 guide:
"Download the full stock rom (update.zip) from the site I linked in the credits. Extract UPDATE.APP file from the zip. Then use HuaweiUpdateExtractor to extract ramdisk.img specific to your device"
I might be dumb AF but these guides are incomplete :/
Can anybody please share the Profiles.xml containing the images for the M5 Lite?
So far I used the Firmware Finder for downloading the latest rom which contains the UPDATE.APP and also downloaded the HuaweiUpdateExtractor but without the right profile it won't open file.
EDIT: currently following the main guide about extracting the ramdisk image: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/extract-huawei-firmware-update-app/
EDIT-2: guide (the one of my link above, not the guide of this thread) followed and finally rooted! Man, what a journey.

Requirements on drumiec edition:
1. Unlocked Huawei Mediapad M5 lite.
2. Minimal ADB Tools [also added to post]
3. WinRar or other extraction tool
4. Magisk Manager apk file from original XDA topic.
5. Huawei Update Extractor [UPDATED: v0.9.9.5] [also added to post]
6. Original Firmware update.zip of current device you are running from https://pro-teammt.ru/en/online-firmware-database/
I used website that actually belong to Huawei Firmware Finder aplication TeamMT, so will give you same result with searching database (look at screen1.jpg - attached to post)
When you will find your firmware version click on filelist and pick the first link, usually is the largest file from all 3 links (like 1.8GB for example).
7. Download update.zip and extract UPDATE.APP from inside using WinRAR or so.
8. Open Huawei Update Extractor and open with it UPDATE.APP file by clicking [...] button.
Important: If program will not let you open the file because of some CRC errors, go on settings tab and uncheck Verify Header Checksum.
For me was not possible to open UPDATE.APP without previous step.
9. Find RAMDISK.img file on the list and extract it.
10. Copy RAMDISK.img file to tablet at any place.
11. Install Magisk Manager apk on tablet.
12. Follow the original guide.
Notice: Magisk will show you output location of your patched ramdisk file right after it finish processing it.

3. Magisk Manager latest from magisk manager website.
4. Huawei Firmware Finder ( Download from Playstore ).
4. Original Firmware Update.zip of current device you are running (Check in your device from Huawei Firmware Finder app).
5. Zarchiver ( Download from Playstore ).
6. Ramdisk.img file ( Extracted from Update.zip ).
Procedure:
1. Download Zarchiver app in playstore and download the current stock rom update.zip ( check your version in update settings) and open the update.zip file in Zarchiver app in your tab and extract the RAMDISK.img to any folder in your tablet.

adb devices
. You must see a device in the output. ( If not properly enable your usb debugging settings).
3. After that type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
. Your device will boot into the fastboot mode and you will see BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED on the tab screen.
4. Now type
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk patched-ramdisk.img
( patched-ramdisk file name may differ).

Same issue here.
The solution is written on the Magisk Homepage:
Don't extract the file with Zarchive.
Download the file update. Zip from the Tablet to the PC (with the Huawei Tool) and unzip the file one time with 7zip.
Use the tool Huawei Firmware extracter. Disable in the settings the checksumme check and extract the Ramdisk.img. Copy the file back to the Tablet and let it patch from Magisk. Copy the patched file back to the PC, boot the Tablet into Fastboot (via adb reboot bootloader) and flash the Ram disk.img.
Remember to active at every reboot the USB Debugging in the Dev settings. It's disabled automatically.
Thanks for the guide. Should I unroot device if I get a new official update?
With the updates I lost my root access which I was using for multi user on my M5 lite Wifi
So I had to do the whole process again.
Here is the patched file for the version : BAH2-W19 8.0.0.278 (OCEC431)
so if you have the same version you can skip some steps and flash it.
firmware : BAH2-W19OCEC431B278
https://www.mediafire.com/file/mizbqmyztiuyj13/magisk_patched.img/file
You 'll have to re-edit the file to enable the multiuser (if you already did it previously the users will still have their config)

Rooting Huawei Mediapad M5 Lite ( All Editions )

So with this file, the process from the OP is shortened to:
1. Type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
. Your device will boot into the fastboot mode and you will see BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED on the tab screen.
2. Now type
Code:
fastboot flash ramdisk magisk_patched.img
(above file for BAH2-W19 8.0.0.278 (OCEC431)).
3. Your device is Successfully Rooted.
Is this right?
edit: to answer my own question: yes
Also, do we need to do this after every OTA update? (not that I expect so many in the future...)
Keine ramdisk Partition mehr
Hi,
since the last update BAH2-L09OCEC432B278 a ramsisk partition is no longer available.
I followed the modified guide with 7-zip and downloading the update.app on my PC and then pushing it onto the tablet with
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb push c:/RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img /storage/emulated/0/Download
I created the magisk_patched.img and used the pull adb command to get it back onto my PC.
I followed the steps in the guide with fastboot, but the very last command fails.
The tablet says both are unlocked, on the Magisk Website there is a short section on "Magisk in Recovery", but pushing the Power on and Volume up does not give my a Magisk option.
Update: I followed the Patching guide, but this fails with the following message:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash recovery magisk_patched.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (26386 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.826s]
writing 'recovery'...

Hi,
I have the Huawei MediaPad M5 lite 10 but the Build Number for me is 'BAH2-W19 8.0.0.278 (OCEC432)'
and I can't seem to find the update file for it to follow the steps above?
Any help would be appreciated on what steps I need to do.
Thanks, :good:
Your Build number translates to the same firmware as mine: BAH2-L09OCEC432B278
This is a great explanation: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/extract-huawei-firmware-update-app/
Download the file from MT Team and extract is with 7Zip: https://pro-teammt.ru/en/
Hope this helps.
PS: Could you let me know if you are able to flash your phone since it is the same build?
THX!

Huawei Update Extractor: it mentions this in there but I have a MacBook and there doesn't seem to be a version for this.
Am I missing something?
