[MOD] [17 JUN] DLL4/5/7-LL3-DME1 (Launcher/messaging/systemui/framework/popup etc)

These little mods are for the latest (at time of writing) stock firmwares: N7100XXDLL4 / DLL5/ DLL7 and N7100UBDLL3
Whenever I flash a new ROM, the first thing I do is re-do these little mods (unless the ROM already includes them) and flash them, so I thought I would share as some of you may find them useful.
They are all in a Clockworkmod flashable zip.
*And now with CWM flashable Aroma installer with my stock launcher and PopupBrowser mods added to it, so now you can install the ones you want and leave the ones you do not want.*
Thanks to commandersafi for his tool.
Included are the folllowing:
SecMms.apk - No sms to mms convert, number of contacts limit removed, better smilies (see pic) and the option to keep the screen off when a new mrssage arrives (CWM_SecMms.apk_ScreenOff.zip only. Thanks to sling for the screen off/on mod))
SystemUI.apk - Black status bar instead of grey.
framework-res.apk - Stock Browser useragent set to desktop as default, better smilies for third party messaging clients (same as the ones in SecMms.apk), screen will now not come on when unplugging from charger/usb (I found this really annoying!), the menu bar (if you enable it) has been reduced in size (see pic to see the size it looks) and the lockscreen rotation has been enabled (only in CWM_AROMA_Stock_UBDLL3_Mods.zip).
SecLauncher2.apk - Stock launcher mod: 6 x 7 icons instead of the stock 4 x 4 and also has up to 7 icons in the dock instead of the stock 5, plus with 6 x 7 icons in the app drawer instead of the stock 5 x 5. (Only in the Aroma installer version)
PopupBrowser.apk - It is now larger (see pic to see the size it looks). I did not see the point in having the PopupBrowser so small as I was always 'maximising' it. Now, with this mod, there is no need to. (Only in the Aroma
installer version)
SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk - This is the default weather widget from the Note 1 (N7000) which has the 5 day forcast on the widget, it has been modded to fit the Note 2 (N7100) screen size (see pics). Even the app the widget opens up into has been modded as they both bled off the screen due to the Note 1's screen resolution, This widget is an addition to the already installed Accuweather widget and nothing gets removed or overwritten. And I will add that they took me hours to sort out! (It is in its own CWM flashable zip)
You should be able to use these mods for odexed as well as deodexed roms, as the odex files for SecMms.apk, SystemUI.apk, PopupBrowser.apk and SecLauncher2.apk, if you have them, will be deleted when the apps are flashed, I have not tested them on a stock odexed rom but there should be no problems.
Both flashable zips will work on stock (and maybe custom) XXDLL4/5/7 and N7100UBDLL3.
How to:
1. Download the CWM flashable zip
2. BACKUP YOUR ROM! Just in case.
3. Reboot into recovery and flash zip.
4. Reboot.
5. Click 'THANKS'

*If you use your Note 2 to download the file, please use a browser other than the stock one, otherwise it may just download a large .php file.*

How to:
1. Download the attached modded SecLauncher2.apk
1. Go to /system/app and rename SecLauncher2.apk to SecLauncher2.apk.bak (in case you want to revert back)
2. Copy over the modded SecLauncher2.apk to /system/app, rename to SecLauncher2.apk , set permissions, reboot, done.
Please note SecLauncher2_10x6x8_NoScroll.apk will have no app labels on the home screen pages due to the cells being so small.

Please note CWM_SecMms.apk_ScreenOff.zip is the same as the mod above but with the added option in the app settings of having the screen come on/stay off when a new message arrives, if you have an odexed rom, make sure you delete the SecMms.odex file before flashing. (Thanks to sling for the screen off/on mod)

That's weird! I have just followed the link and downloaded the file (31.9mb) without any problem. I don't know what to suggest?

Try using a different browser, the file is fine.

I have just installed the latest N7100XXDLL7 and these mods work as they should, which is no surprise as DLL7, DLL5 and DLL4 are essentially the same

I tried to install with CWM Touch 6.0.25 and aroma didnt start. I tried twice. Wanamlite DLL5 here!
I moved the file I wanted manually.

Hello padlad,
Thank you for the mods.
I have one important find that you should know. IT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY, specifically the framework-res mod, WHEN Simplistic Framework is installed. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly. So there must be a conflict somewhere.
What happens - the home screen shrinks to about 1/2 the size, on all pages.
I'm reverting back from a backup and will install only the SecMms mod in Aroma. I'll let you know what happens.
Update - All is good with just the SecMms mod.

I'm running my launcher @ 270dpi and with your launcher mod looks really great but when I open a folder the size is really small.
Anyway to increase the folder size to the same as original and remove page dots?

Font Apk Creator​
This application allows to convert any .ttf file to .apk file enabling you to install in samsung galaxy phones and use them.
Requirements
1. All the requirements of APK Mult-tool
2. Jdk ( http://goo.gl/dNsbl )
3. python 2.7 (http://www.python.org)
4. Windows 7/8 64bit.
Instructions
1. Extract the FontApkCreator.zip (attached here)
2. Open the extracted folder
3. Open FontApkCreator.exe
4. If you have BOLD version of the font, then keep it in the same directory as regualr font such that "Font.ttf" "Fontbold.ttf".
5. The bold font file name should be "Fontbold.ttf"
6. select the Font.ttf file(file name of font should not contain space)
7. Your apk will be generated and will be there in the directory from where you selected your font file
Installation Instructions
1. Transfer and Install the apk you have created.
2. If you are using Galaxy s4, follow steps 3 and 4. Else goto step 5
3. Goto play store and install ifont(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapp.ifont)
4.Open ifont and apply your font. Done
5. Goto settings and apply the font. Done

Thanks for this wonderful tool For some reason it doesn't longer seem to work with the Galaxy S4. Installed my APK, see the Font in the font selection menu but when I try to change to it it says that the font isn't on the device.

Is it possible for you to remove SamsungSans.apk from your phone and install the attached one here(font changed). I don't know whether you will be able to uninstall samsungsans

Tried it. The font is listed, but getting the font is not available error again.

Works great as far as far creating the apk, installing & having it listed as a font. However, when I select the font it says, "This font is not available."
Edit: Tried using Root Explorer & moved "example.tff" to system/fonts & still getting the same error. Also tried moving the font apk I created into that folder, installed from there & got the error, again. "This font is not available."

There must be some way because the bauhaus font i purchased in the store works fine.

Really? I tried several fonts downloaded from Google Play, but non of them working so far ... maybe cuz i tried free fonts, not the payed ones. The funny thing is that i followed the "Get more fonts" link in Settings/My Device/Display/Fonts ... shouldn't they all be compatable with the S4 if u follow that official link? Strange ... now how should i know which one will work or not before purchase it?
As far as i get it this is not a S4 issue, it's because Android 4.2.2 ...

Because I am not a samsung theme designer and because it s not applessible to give it to you in samsung theme chooser you can make it full by doing this :
If you are root you can use this method that will allow you to transform it as a full theme
First of all be sure to have choose the stock theme :
Use a root explorer and go to
Data/overlays/jsonfiles/trialjson
Then cut the file "com.Mylove.CedricEdition.json" to
Data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson
After that go to
Data/overlays/
And delete the "preferences" folder.
For the Icon pack same thing but :
You find the file under jsonfiles/appiconjsonfiles/trialjson
Move it to jsonfiles/appiconjsonfiles/userjson
After that go to
Data/overlays/
And delete the "preferences" folder.
Finally reboot your phone and choose the theme
IOS now....

I show you how I do considering that you have already made your theme.
If you SEE other windows : post a screencapture of it
If you create one you will be ask to complete a list of informations that won't be accessible for all but whitch allow to sign the apk with a unique signature.
At this point I replace the dialpad preview by a screencature of my phone and then click finish :

You have to choice dark theme when you start a new creation. After that you can mod what you want

the text i am referring to seems to be hard coded, the moment i choose dark theme, the text color of manage sim card messages continues to remain black and background is also black/dark

Pixel Q theme for Oppo Reno

First of all this is not my work, I came across this theme and thought i would share this on XDA.
So as the name suggests theme is based on Pixel Q style. find the list below for themed items.
1. Dialer.
2. Settings.
3. Icons and wallpaper.
4. File manager.
5. Messages.
6. Quick tiles icons in notification bar.
7. Status bar icons.

How to apply :
1. Theme Store v 6.1 : Just click on theme file from file manager and apply and restart. After restarting just force stop the theme manager without opening it.
2. Theme Store v5.0 : place the theme file in the root directory and click on it and theme Store will open but there won't be any button to apply it. Click back and theme will show in my themes section...apply from there.
Restart device and force stop theme manager without opening it.

I've put this file in themes folder in root. But it is not showing up in theme store.

My theme store version is 6.3
I was opening it in different file manager. Tried with default file manager and it got applied.

Btw have u checked whatsapp ? The chat background all white. Changing the wallpaper is not helping either.

Yes it's themed that way.

I'm on Theme store version 5.0.1 and followed the instructrions, it shows up in the theme store with abutton called 'try' but when I click on it it says, this function is not available.
Any solutions, please.

How to apply :
1. Theme Store v 6.1 : Just click on theme file from file manager and apply and restart. After restarting just force stop the theme manager without opening it.
2. Theme Store v5.0 : place the theme file in the root directory and click on it and theme Store will open but there won't be any button to apply it. Click back and theme will show in my themes section...apply from there.
