Fonts on the S4

Hello,
I usually have no problems with fonts on Samsung devices. On S3 and N2, it was flawless but on my S4 (I9500) whenever i set any flipfont it says "The font is not available". Anybody has the same problem and hopefully solution?

Yes, same here. Not all fonts will work on the device. In a matter of fact the only fonts that will work, are the stock once.

That is not because of S4, but because of Android 4.2.2..

We've been coming up with different scenarios on how to get this to work. One dev made a Font APK Creator (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251745). It's works great & does what it should, but for some reason Jelly Bean won't allow custom fonts. I've tried installing fonts through system/font & that was a no go. The only "custom" fonts that seem to work are the fonts purchased from the Play Store. Cross your fingers the devs figure this out :fingers-crossed:

Anyone have a Holo font by any chance?!? I *hate* the GS4 standard font, it's huge. I've change to Tahoma for right now, but to get the System fonts (e.g. those that show in Notifications) small enough, I have to use "Tiny" which is too small for the rest of the applications.

Just wanted to say that iFont did not work on my S4 (SGH-I337). I downloaded and set and set a new font. It requested superuser access and I granted it. Supposedly, it should have changed instantly, but didn't, so I rebooted the phone. The only thing that happened was notifications started coming through for the past 2 days and my current font (Rosemary) was changed to a plain, no style font, but still set to Rosemary. I uninstalled the app, changed the system font to Choco, then back to Rosemary and rebooted back to normal. I can't recommend iFont for this model.

So for those of you that have installed iFont, uninstall it asap.
Edit: I see that there is another app that is called 'iFont' on Play Store. So the iFont you are talking about might not be the spyware.
But correct me if i'm wrong.

Ifont does NOT work on my i9505 !

i use ifont , works perfectly , S4 i9500

I tried ifont on rooted S4 and it did not work at all. Luckily,I have found a way around this problem.
[Try this on your risk and I am not responsible for any damage that happens to your device.]
1. You will need to make nandroid backup of the rom, and this is a very important step, so don't skip it.
2. Download and install a root font installer like font changer [ free version will do ] or font installer from Play Store.
3. Open the app and apply the custom font,
4. Don't choose reboot [ You will not be able to boot the ROM]. Instead, boot to recovery.
5. Choose advance restore and choose system.
6. After restoring the system, the rom will boot normally.
7. You will notice that the font has changed.

argh I got an update on my s4 now ifont won't work due to some security update policy

Rolling back from MM to 5.1.1

Apologize first if this is not posted in the right place. I wanted to know if it was possible to roll back to 5.1.1 so I can set my font to Roboto Condensed (as all 3rd party fonts do not work on MM) and retake the update. I learned the hard way about the fonts and I really want Roboto back.

Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to downgrade.. At least from what I've read.

Has anyone tried? The worst that would happen is that Odin will fail.

I'm noticing that every single font I've tried to use doesn't work after I tap done it says this font is not supported and asks to uninstall it.. I will attach a photo..
I haven't been able to get a single font to work they're all doing this.

[TWRP] SamsungSans V1.6.6- Flashable fonts for S7/S7E

Hi all! I have been using the SamsungSans apk for very long and have edited it as to my liking.
I removed a lot of fonts I wasn't using and added some I like. So now I want to share the zip file I am using.
Any additional font request can be granted as long as you can provide and apk similar to the apks from Samsung fonts.

Tested and working perfectly on SuperMan and BatMan Roms!
Requirements:
- Must be rooted
- TW based ROM (Tested on Superman-Rom)
- TWRP

Hi. Good question. I haven't had time to decompile and recompile it, but hopefully can do this weekend.

This developer had used the samsung sans font apk and added the other fonts. Maybe something like this can be done by this developer. Who knows

it is possible, but i havn't dug too deep into it, but it has to deal with the sec folder settings within the apk

I think we are using the same method, a flashable zip, since SamsungSans.apk is a system file, to make it work properly, flashing thru TWRP or manual push thru root browser or adb method would be the way. I removed font more so and added some that I like on my version.

I can't say it's impossible, but since it's size is so big and that it need to be in system, is the reason it won't be in an installable apk, but if someone can make it into one, then that'll be great!

To be clear ! No this cant be possible to make an apk installable as a standard apk. Apk i use previously need to be place in system, standard apk are installed in data. Flipfont system cannot be bypassed for this. Also it need a mod like signature bypass in framework and other restriction i do not remember... I've it somewhere but it an old old project and i dont have time actually to work on it. Cheers ! (I'll look if it change since i've made original mod but i dont think it can be done) ...

looking for a font app for s10+ unrooted

Hi as title says I'm looking for any font apps that may work with an unrooted s10+ I've looked through the galaxy store and been un- impressed as I couldn't find what I wanted. Do you guys have any recommendations for any font directories that work for Samsung ??

Wingfonts, here's a link to the download.
You have to put the exe on your computer (which you will find in the wingfonts folder on your phone after installing the apk. Connect with usb and usb debug and run the exe on your computer, install theme, select font. Then restore your current theme after you select font.
Or you can use synergy and substratum lite theme maker where some themes have font package overlays.

Thanks for the wing fonts suggestion. I ended up installing telegram to Download the most recent wing font apk file, which has synergy support, meaning I didn't need to use abd. They have literally thousands of fonts

long time ago I found this font helvetica neue ios7 font and flashed it to my mxpe, simce this s10+ is locked, anyone know how i can get helvetica font? for this s10.

What? You download and install the apk. Then download the zip and extract to a folder called monofonts. You choose which fonts to install from the app.
Heypresto there in your display settings under fonts are the fonts you installed.
Where does language come into play?

Heres a screenshot of monofonts.
It looks like everything is English to my eyes.

all I can find is the website that sells fonts I cannot find mono font app.

I tried flipfont app but I can't get it installed because there's no install button on Google play and I installed 1.0 of flipfont from pure APK website. i just got the logo screen n it would not load the app.

Did you even read the linked thread above?
Page 8 Scrolling down you will see the download for Apk and zip . Follow the instructions written.

Install the apk monofonts app
Create a folder called monofonts and extract the zip to that folder.
Go to the monofonts app and install the apk of the desired font from there.
Then go to your settings/display/font size and style select the font you installed. Now it should be showing your new font throughout the system there's no need to reboot the phone.

Cool hopefully they will add more fonts . I really like comfortaa its rounded really nice. Unfortunately i cant find anything close to it.

are there more fonts for mono? besides that zip?

I used winrar 64 bit to extract on PC the download from page 8 link and created a folder on pc itself , drop all extract files in folder then moved to phone through USB cable ( enabled Turn it on USB tethering-Transfer files ) . all exacts reflects in #mono app on phone then install it . thats it . Thanks . I like always Helvitica font is my fav. could anyone have a pack of Helvitica please let here .
