Hey there,
So I just got an Honor 6X to replace my bootlooped Nexus 5X. I've been trying to enable the developer options in the menu but taping the build number won't work, any idea why? I literally just started using the phone 20 minutes ago.
Thanks
Dunno if you are on Nougat or Marshmallow, but just for reference the place where you should tap is the one that i underlined on the picture in attachments, i did the same on Marshmallow. If tapping doesn't shows a pop-up message as habit about the remaining taps to unlock the dev options, it's the first time that i hear this issue. Check it

I've had the phone about a week now, and its been awesome. I did notice a few minor bugs. My phone had Dev options available in settings without having to unlock them by tapping build number 7 times. I can go to build number hit it seven times and it says "Your a Dev now", but these options where already available. I also noticed in the alarms that some of the alarm sounds are the same, but have different names. The last thing I noticed is probably not a bug, but I can't find a way to change the number of home screen panels. Double tapping home does nothing, neither does pinching the home screen. Can anyone else confirm this?
I don't think these are bugs, but as designed...

Developer Options are generally immediately available in stock builds of Android. You are seeing that with your phone. You are not seeing the ability to add screens because this is not functionality found in the stock Launcher. TouchWiz and other manufacturer overlays have added this. This is why I usually move to Apex Launcher, so that I can add more screens and up the column/row count.
As for the alarm sounds, you are probably right. I built my own long since, so I always ignore the built-in sounds.
Enjoy your phone!
Some people have been reporting washed out displays on new nexus phones (Nexus 6p and 5x) and this has happened to me. However, I found the solution. Follow the following steps.
1. Go to settings.
2. Tap about phone.
3. Tap build number 7 times (or until it says developer options are enabled).
4. Go to developer options.
5. Scroll down until you see "Show Surface Updates" and enable it.
6. You should see purple flashing every time something on the screen moves. Scroll up and down a couple of times and then disable "Show Surface Updates".
7. Your screen should be back to normal.

Greetings.
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
I think you should read the sticky threads for the Assist forum, as this really doesn't belong here. Perhaps share this info in the relevant device specific forums.

I have tried many times but am unable to unlock System UI Tuner.
I need help.
It is non rooted phone 16GB Indian version.
Is it because I had developer options unlocked when I was in 5.1.1 Lollipop?

Pull the notification shade down. You will see the SETTINGS (GEAR) icon on top right.
Just next to profile photo.
Try and PRESS and HOLD IT TILL IT VIBRATES... Automatically System UI tuner will be
opened and appear in system, just after AbOUT PHONE.
And the SETTINGS (GEAR) icon also has a small SPANNER icon now next to it.
Sometimes it is difficult to exactly see how it works because your finger will cover the whole
SETTINGS ICON.
try it...

I did many times but am unable. Is it because developer options was unlocked when I was in Lollipop itself?

Did you upgrade from Lollipop or did you have Marshmallow when you bought it? If you did upgrade did you have developer options on when the phone had Lollipop? I have also tried many number of times.
I doubt that it won't be available since I had developer options on when I had Lollipop.

My Moto G Turbo Edition came with LP and immediately i updated the updates available to MM. I just bought the phone about 2 to 3 weeks ago.
Instantly did the system tuner thing...
My developer options was not there in LP. I did it with the 7 taps on build number (or something like that) but what i mean is that DEV OPTIONS was not on by default.. i turned it on... Then i turned System Tuner on.
Hope you get it pal..
P.S. Check some youtube videos for this...
I think you're not holding it for long enough. Just to be sure try something like 20-30 seconds, because I just tried and it did work.

I'll check. I could enable it in my dad's moto g te but not in my moto g3
As per the title, I've enabled the Developer Options menu by tapping the build number 7 times, the entry appears in the Settings menu but when I try to open it I get a message : "You must first Enable Developer Options". Is there another setting hidden somewhere else ? I can't find anything by using the built-in search engine.

Hello, No there isn't.
Reboot the phone, tap build number again 7/8 times and see if it works again. If your on branded firmware it's sometimes disabled.

I already tried this several times before posting here, and I'm running the stock Samsung ROM. Weird thing is it used to work some time ago.
hello guys, i have a problem with xiaomi note me 10. in practice, as soon as i install rom with android 10 base, automatic brightness and image stabilization in videos stop working (app freezes). i tried all the existing roms global, stable, .eu on both miui 11 and 12, made any type of reset, used miui app from pc, locked and re-unlocked bootloader ... i tried them all.
with miui android 9 everything works while if i switch to android 10 they stop working. even OTA updates have done the same thing.
have you ever had similar experiences?
If Android 10 is where the main issues are occuring for you, where a workaround that I found works.
1. Enable/Open Developer Options
2. Find, and tap "Quick settings developer tiles"
3. Enable the "Sensors Off" switch.
4. Open your phone quick setting (swipe down from the top) and tap "Sensors Off". Then wait a few minutes.
5. Tap "Sensors Off" again, to make the button turn grey, to disable it.
Then check to see if the sensors are all working.
