Good Day guys
Before (if) I root, does anyone know if Xposed will run on the X2 ? If so, are modules safe to run from a security/privacy point of view ? Is it true that as long as modules are open source they are safe ?

No, Xposed doesn't work. It will send you into a bootloop.
Hello,
... a never ending story with my GEM-702L ...
I've unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and updated to B106 inkl. SuperSU.
All works fine ... with one exception: XPosed. I *really* need it, especially for XPrivacy.
For Lollipop a new XPosed version is released. So i tried my luck ... and failed.
I installed the XPosed Installer 3.0 Alpha 4 and the ARM64 SDK22 framework via TWRP.
After that my device has a boot loop.
Has anybody other experiences with XPosed and is there a workaround to install XPosed successfully? Maybe with an Android 5.0 Build? I prefer to use an older build version if it allows to use the XPosed framework.
I hope you can help me.
Many thanks in advance and best wishes

The problem is Xposed just doesn't support the framework on the Huawei devices just yet. Hopefully, since Huawei makes the Nexus 6P that will change but if it does it probably won't be until Marshmallow is released for the X2. Huawei is working on it.
Thank you for your reply.
With other words: I have an unusable smartphone. Without regulation of permissions, I won't use an android device with all of my personal data. My privacy is too important for me.
Huawei created a really great device but some details are horrible.
1st: Unlocking bootloader
2nd: Terrible (and in fact: no) support for international models
3td: This situation.
It seems, Huawei makes the same mistakes like other big manufactures before...
I'm looking forward for some better updates for the xposed framework and/or new builds from huawei.
Best wishes
Dan
Also boot loop with xposed framework v78 on B106.
So since Sep. 2015 I have an unuseable smartphone...
To trust in Huawei was my biggest (and expensive) fail since a very long time.

The framework doesn't support Huawei phones. Maybe this will change with the Nexus 6P.
I know, but I really need xposed + xPrivacy.
So, I'll try every update til xposed is running fine ... Or I sell my MediaPad and buy something else that has not these problems.
you be doing well to sell this phone for what you paid for it.

Could you make the same for 703L? Unfortunately this version do not work for me... It's a really pitty because Xposed it is one thing which I miss in X2...
I have installed .app and flashed .zip from recovery but after reboot Xposed framework is not active and can not be activated. At least there is no bootloop...

I'm on my 703L and its working fine for me. I had to install the app first then boot into recovery and install the framework in that order.
Will try once more...
Unfortunately...
What can I do?

Flash the framework in recovery once more and see if it works. I did it on KangVIP B109. What system are you on?
I flashed it at least four times... I am on B109 Kangvip

That's strange. When you first flashed the Framework and restated did you get the "updating apps 1 of xx" dialog box?
Yes, I had it.
Now I'm back to start because I've restored nandroid backup from before of installing Xposed-framework. Will try once more from beginning. SO once more:
1. Xposed Installer.app
2. Xposed Framework from recocvery
Is there need of wiping cache after installing framework?
Edit// One more try to no avail.
Edit// Will try to install superslim KangVip from @ajsmsg78 and then will see...

After install, open up Xposed Installer and go into settings and check Disabled Resource Hooks. You have to do that in order for the framework to start working. Just restart after you check that box.

Thank you, that did the trick . Now I will start to test my favourite modules.
So I updated my newer Shield Tablet to 4.1, and restored everything, flashed SuperSU and Xposed and Viper4Android.. It was working fine until I enabled some Xposed modules and rebooted. It gets stuck on the NVIDIA logo and nothing happens. I got it to boot once after flashing Xposed, but the app said that Xposed was installed but not enabled ("see the logs," which made no sense to me). It said there was an update to the app, so I updated it, then downloaded the zip once again and flashed it, and got the NVIDIA logo stuck again. This is horsh!t. Why is it suddenly not working? I'm using the latest, xposed-v85-sdk23-arm zip.
Bump? Been a day and no response??

Maybe nobody knows HERE?
Xposed is working here with NVIDIA-Update 1.2 (6.0.1) without problems. Did the modules you installed work before the update? A bootloop is a common problem with Xposed.
I doubt that this is ROM problem but an Xposed problem. I would try to find help in the Xposed section. Maybe you should try to find the logs...

No, it's a ROM problem. They worked fine before.
I'm also using the 6.0.1 update and the latest xposed with no problems. I'd say it's one of your modules not being compatible, not a ROM problem at all, except that the module doesn't seem to be updated to work on mm.

I use the same modules on my phone running 6.0.1, with no issues. It's not a module.
did you flash arm version or arm-64 version? cuz arm-64 and intel wont work and there is a systemless xposed try using that if all else fails. I can use xposed myself on 6.0.1 myself btw.

As I stated in the op, it's the xposed-v85-sdk23-arm zip.
Tried reflashing the ROM, the USA LTE version this time, and I'm STILL getting stuck at the boot screen, after enabling modules. I got it to boot with JUST Xposed, no modules.

As stated before, a module your using isn't updated to work with our implementation of 6.0.1. now reinstall modules one at a time until you figure out which one is causing problems and then ask in the xposed section for that module. Glad you finally figured it out tho

Well, it was BootManager, but it's working fine on my phone with 6.0.1.
Nope, wasn't BootManager, either. Just not working, at all.
If anyone is having issues with flashing xposed I found a thread where there is universal systemless xposed now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
I'm going to give it a go even though I've never had issues with xposed, but it seems that with systemless root and systemless xposed you'll keep your OTA capabilities, but a few apps like Android Pay will not work. Make sure to read the whole thread and throw them a thank you for making this.

systemless xposed works fine (and seems to make the system lag less then regular xposed) however 86.7 is out and you need to also make sure you have the "material design xposed installer" installed as it's the only version that detects systemless xposed. The regular one will not do the job.

Just looked and there isn't an 86.7. You were looking at release 85.7. 86.1 is the most recent release for systemless xposed.

I'm currently on 85.7 as 86.1 wasn't recognized after installation 2 times by the installer. So far no issues with that, but with MM in general every now and then when I leave the phone for extended periods of time it won't turn back on when the power button is pressed. I've tried everything to keeping the cores full bore and it still happens like it's a deep sleep that it can't wake from and I have to restart the phone.
Dunno where else to put this but so far none of the unofficial xposed solutions support the pixel phones because no one seems to want to work with the A/B file layout so if anyone here wants to pick up a project id greatly appreciate that one and i know ive seen a number of others asking for it in different magisk and unofficial xposed threads. Thanks for reading my post and potentially contributing to a fairly noble cause.
Unknown if this is a pixel success. Anyone who knows please do reply.

Doesn't support A/B partition layout yet. No version of xposed except magisk systemless will even flash and even then the magisk systemless xposed also doesn't seem to work right for pixel phones yet

The couple of xposed modules I tried seemed OK (Greenify, youtube adaway...). I just didnt like it because it seemed to break Facebook and Facebook Messenger Apps (caused constant crashes for some reason) and also broke SafetyNet too, which defeats the purpose of even using Magisk. But overall you're most likely correct the modules still need to be updated for Nougat.
Damn...and I was so thrilled when the Nougat version came out.
Guess I stick with rooted Oreo was thinking about reinstall nougat cause of framework but sounds like it's not that great for pixel

Yeah xposed was my main reason for rolling back but for me none of the modules were being read as properly activated. Its fine though because I have my custom ROM back since there aren't any for Oreo yet.
A thread at pixel xl is saying yes and no with various install methods
UPDATE: added pie controls from xposed to my pixel running RR ; )
Resolved: Systemless Xposed (SDK25) module in magisk now flashes and sticks without fail. Installing the modded Xposed provided in the module description allows the framework/app/modules to interface properly. With both the Systemless framework and the modded app all modules updated as of this month will work

No nougat only, Xposed is not supported on Android Oreo at all yet
So I am running beta 3 of Ressurection Remix from OpenKirin website. Everything is smooth even after heavy tweaks. But I want to root this ROM. Reason is I want to uninstall built-in apps and some of my apps require root access. I already tried rooting the ramdisk.img. it failed. Even though it was rooted root access wasn't available. So can I directly flash latest magisk via elemental ROM TWRP? Or is there any other method?
Like you, I'm on the same build from yesterday, and obviously the minimum that I'd like to do is to root the ROM, since that we already miss a fully working TWRP and a compatible Xposed framework.
I discovered just yesterday topjohnwu's thread about patching the stock boot.img with the custom Magisk Manager apk for Huawei devices, but before doing everything I've decided to make a search on XDA, and I've stumbled upon this. So neither patching the stock ramdisk.img works?? Dammit. Becsuse standing by what i know, flashing latest Magisk on an A only GSI works, but i haven't read successful cases rooting an OpenKirin ROM yet.
I'd like to test this method, but i still have to setup some stuff on this ROM, and so i don't want to try something that could mess up system, trashing all the time that I've spent on configuring the device.
I'll update ya as soon as i can, if something useful should come out. I hope to update you soon!
Dude. I have done it and would like to tell you that it can be flashed normally. Currently enjoying root with all modules working. If you have an honor 6x just flash TWRP from elemental room thread and then latest magisk. So far no issues, no bootloop. However after first installation I recommend you to install via direct patch once again to ensure everything works. i.eif you still wanna know. This is way simpler
Thanks for letting me know mate, yeah i have a 6X. Actually I've installed TWRP and flashed latest stable Magisk, V17.1. Magisk is correctly detected by Magisk Manager.
Now, the file that i should provide to patch on Magisk Manager is stock EMUI 8.0 boot.img, correct?
Nope. If you have magisk installed just direct install once again via magisk manager and you're good to go
Thanks Mannan, I'm enjoying root goodies too now.
I take the chance to ask ya if sound mods like Viper/Dolby Atmos will also work or not as a Magisk module, since that time ago (but even recently) i saw some users that was saying in a couple of threads that flashing one of these would corrupt system files, and so EMUI 8 had to be flashed again.
First of all we aren't on EMUI 8bso no corruption. We are on Android 8.1 so any Sound Mod for this Firmware should work. Now I haven't flashed it yet cause mainly I have to find a working one and of the risk of soft brick. But I will try and let you know if I find a working one. Same goes for exposed framework
Got it. Well it would be great, especially Xposed in systemless version.
EDIT - going off topic a while, even you notice a charging time much slower than on stock? Before, i usually charged something like 60-65% in one hour, now it tooks at least 1 hour and an half to achieve the same percentage of battery. Gotta tweak this someway.
