Please give a short help.
What I have tried so far:
* fresh installation ROM V9.6.17.0.ODIMIFE (Oreo, last stable Nov.18 build)
-
1st attempt (over TWRP):
* fastboot boot twrp.img (TingyiChen, 20190108)
* flash flax-9.6.17.0.zip -> ERROR: 7
-
2nd attempt (Magisk):
* fastboot flash boot patched_boot_magisk181.img
* install magisk manager 7.0.0
* open MagiskManager - Module - install Flax4Magisk-9.6.17.0.zip (over "+")
-> Error: "Please install Magisk v17.0+! Installation failed!
What do I have to do?
Update:
1st attempt (TWRP) ist still not working.
2nd attempt (Magisk) works, after online update.
i will never push versions again, my modules are just make a specific versions, they should work fine. if you have any issue that's not my prob. for the rest guides are not available, not my prob too. oreo roms are outdated, and xposed is already available on pie sooo

||| Why this guide? |||
Since the "EdXposed" project doesn't reveice the attention it should get in our device section, I decided to make a quick guide for you how to get a Xposed Framework on your OnePlus 6 running Android 9 and 10! :highfive:
I'm not the developer of EdXposed or Riru, nor in any way related to them. Just an ordinary user, who can confirm that it's working on the latest stock OOS 9.x-x with Magisk >18.1 and OOS 10 with a custom Magisk build (20), though not all available Xposed modules work. The list of known working and non-working apps can be found here (spoiler alert: Greenify (beta) and Xprivacylua (beta) are fully working :good - better check that thread before you complain afterwards
If you're asking yourself now, what EdXposed actually is, here's the description of the developer solohsu:
EdXposed: A Riru module trying to provide a ART hooking framework (initially for Android Pie) which delivers consistent APIs with the OG Xposed, leveraging YAHFA hooking framework.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
But what is Riru?
Riru is a very simple but useful thing. Only requires to replace one system file, it will provide the ability to Riru modules to run their code in apps' or system server's process.

Got it? :fingers-crossed:
||| Notes |||
EdXposed is still in beta stage. Not all modules work and some bugs might occur, so please, make backups! At least take a full nandroid backup and save your important data (photos, documents, etc.) from your internal memory in a safe place.
Even though you don't need TWRP for the installation and usage of EdXposed, I'd highly recommend to have it in place for two reasons: 1. To take backups and 2. To be able to flash the EdXposed Uninstaller zip in case something went wrong.
On Android 10, SafetyNet does not pass! I'll update this thread as soon as a fix is available! Also, if you upgrade from 9 to 10, make sure to deactivate or uninstall all Magisk and Xposed modules. Some of them might not be support Android 10 right now, activate them one by one (with reboot), after the whole upgrade process is done. For example: "Audio Modification Library" and/or "Audio Compatibility Patch" *work", but make recording of Whatsapp voice messages fail. Be aware that those issues might occur until all modules are updated to support Android 10.
||| Requirements |||
Android 9:
rooted with Magisk >18.x
optional: TWRP (blu_spark TWRP >3.2.3+ highly recommended)
Android 10:
rooted with custom Magisk 20 by soloshu
unlike on pie, TWRP for Android 10 is needed (blu_spark >=v9.107 recommended)
||| Installation |||
Android 9:
It's quite simple, just follow those steps:
(I flashed everything in magisk, since EdXposed and Riru Core are technically magisk modules)
Download the files mentioned in the downloads for Android 9 section on your phone
Have you done your backup(s)? If not, do it now -just in case!
Flash the (latest) Riru Core zip in Magisk or TWRP (magisk-riru-core-vXX.X.zip)
Flash the (latest) EdXposed zip in Magisk or TWRP (magisk-EdXposed-vX.X.X.X_beta-release.zip; YAHFA highly recommended!)
reboot
Install the EdXposed Installer (EdXposedInstaller_vX.X.X-release.apk)
Done!
Open up the EdXposed Installer and check if the Xposed Framework status is active and "green".
Android 10:
If you had EdXposed on your device on Android 9 and now just want to upgrade to 10, you don't have to install Riru Core and EdXposed Manager if the latest versions were already installed.
Download the files mentioned in the downloads for Android 10 section on your phone
Have you done your backup(s)? If not, do it now -just in case!
reboot to TWRP (blu_spark >=v9.107)
Flash the (latest) custom Magisk build by soloshu in TWRP (>= v20.0(20001); Magisk-v20.x.zip)
reboot
Flash the (latest) Riru Core zip in Magisk or TWRP (>= 19.5; magisk-riru-core-vXX.X.zip)
Flash the (latest) EdXposed zip in Magisk or TWRP (>= v0.4.6.0_beta; magisk-EdXposed-vX.X.X.X_beta-release.zip, YAHFA highly recommended!)
reboot
Open Magisk Manager, go to settings->update channel and paste the this custom path: "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/solohsu/magisk_files/master/custom_builds/release.json"
Install the EdXposed Installer (EdXposedInstaller_vX.X.X-release.apk)
Done!
||| Downloads |||

Have xposed on pie since last week and running well.
App running is gravitybox 9.0 beta 2
And no problems with safetynet.
Very interesting indeed. Thanks man! Gonna check it out over the weekend.
No problem on oos 9.04
How are some of the root sensitive apps working, like Android Pay? Will we be able to update some sensitive apps like Netflix and Mario Run in the Play Store?
I just came from the Axon 7 where it was either Xposed or passing SafelyNet, but not both. I'm gonna look into this for sure! Thanks!

Take a look at the screenshots I posted. SafetyNet passes! And even better, you can "blacklist" specific apps, which means that they're not touched/hooked in any way. Very useful for banking apps or sensitive apps like password-manager :good:
I'm quite sure that you can use Android Pay, though I can't tell for sure since I don't use it. The Xposed gets hardly detected because it "basically" isn't the "pure" XPosed, but a module of Riru. Simply spoken: Riru is a module of Magisk. And EdXposed is a module of Riru

I totally missed the screenshots the first time around. Awesome! After I get my OTG extra storage and make a new backup (large backup) I'm gonna jump on this!
Do we have a thread for GravityBox P on our OnePlus 6 and all the things working and not working? I would start one but I'm working and technically shouldn't be doing this haha

Don't worry I added them just recently
Not for our device specifically. In fact I made this guide here because most people didn't even know that there's a Xposed solution for Pie . But according to the thread I mentioned, it's reported to work. And since OxygenOS is quite close to vanilla Android, I'd assume it will work flawlessly

Been using for a few weeks, works great op6t.. so should be fine on op6, it's the same phone..
A lot of good GSI ROMS available. VoLTE does not work with many GSI images.
For example, I installed the Resurrection Remix (Pie) GSI image developed by Luke.
Everything works fine except VoLTE. I could fix the problem with a Magiske module.
The module provides by Mrituanjay Upadhyay (Telegram: @Jay1811).
Here are the steps to install Magisk Module and fix the problem.
This Magisk Module for Fixing GSI VOLTE on Realme 5 Pro. I also work well with Realme 5.
Download Magisk Module and ims.apk from here.
Steps for Flashing
1. Flash GSI Based on Arm64 AB
2. Reboot to Recovery
3. Flash Magisk (Latest Version, I tried with Magisk 20)
4. Reboot to system
5. Open Magisk and install the GSI Volte fix module
6. Reboot phone
7. After Boot to System install ims.apk provided with GSI Fix for VoLTE

Hi,

Unfortunately it doesn't work. Tested on EvoX.

I found , the source of problem was AFWall+ [ed]xposed module activated in the system. When I disabled this module, the buffer fix works.
Probably it will fry my camera module in around a month, but unexpectedly it works like a charm on a Xiaomi Mi 9 SE with the latest lineageOS (Android 12) gg
I did clean install official LOS 19.1 and installed buffer fix for TWRP via lineage recovery adb sideload.: GCAM is stuttering.
After that I installed official TWRP "twrp-3.7.0_9-0-pyxis.img" for pyxis and mounted vendor partition prior to installing TWRP buffer fix again via TWRP from mounted USB stick. GCAM is still stuttering.
Any hints/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Maybe gcam does need a special XML config? I tried different GCAM versions, but did not find a XML config for pyxis.
So, I was testing various and came across the guide for installing LineageOS17 GSI in the guides section. The way mentioned seems to be working
Procedure-
Install TWRP with latest security patches according to this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/updated-september-2022-how-to-root-a7-2018.4488289/
Now, download Latest LineageOS19.1 vndklite-secure GSI.
Make sure to have backup of your internal storage, it might need to be wiped.
Install this GSI and right after that install Quantum Kernel 2.5 GSI version(for mtp) (check in attachments, it has Magisk 25.2 instead of 20.4 as mentioned in verbose) and then Magisk. After boot, check if MTP works in system, if it reboots, force reboot to TWRP and format Data and then reboot. That should fix it.
Without the kernel, seems to be stuck at logo.
No critcial bugs I have seen till now.
PS: always maintain a backup, I am not responsble if something goes wrong, like data loss.
Now, haven't tested it, but seems to me that any version other than vndklite-secure will have the 'camera in use' problem. So, try and let me know if that's the case.
Note - TWRP used is from a telegram group, which I couldn't share without the permission of owner. Search for it and you'll find it in A7 2018 telegram support group. TWRP version is 3.6.2.
Dmverity-disabler is to be flashed according to how to root guide only.
Tested on SM-A750F/DS (INS).
The reason why GSIs later than android 11 have a lockscreen bug is due to a vendor issue, in which Android 10
vendor of A7 2018 is not compatible with these GSI's. Apart from some Android 10 GSIs (like Havoc), lockscreen and everything works on these.
Abridged from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sm-a750fn-ds-unofficial-lineageos-17-1-gsi.4195065/
The img file for TWRP 3.6.2 is https://sourceforge.net/projects/batuhan-s-builds/files/TWRP/a7y18lte/recovery.img/download
To flash it as tar, use 7zip or any alternative to arcive as tar with default options, just make sure the image file remains as recovery.img, because it is present in this form on the phone partition. Tar can have any file name.
Source Telegram group for TWRP img file is @Exynos7885Updates
No sources have been specified by the developer.
For Indian SM-A750F, BL FILE IS INCLUDED
Note: For Camera in use error, always try to use vndklite versions of GSI, they have specific patch to work with some specific types of vendors. Currently looking for lockscreen fix, most probably, it is also a vendor related problem.
All of these are android 12 or 13 ones.
Possibility of usage:
Works Complete with magisk (including working Lockscreen): FLOS19.1(https://github.com/ChonDoit/treble_flos_patches/releases) [use (VNDK)lite secure ones, stability check needed]
no lockscreen : AncientOS S,ProtonAOSP 12.4.1, ProjectBlaze12.1, LineageOS19.1, LineageOS 20.0 TD-based VNDKLite(no bluetooth), pHH A12.1 GSI (secure), OctaviOS(vndklite), Evolution X 13 vndklite (no bluetooth), Miku UI 13 (no bluetooth), Pixel Experience Plus 13 (VNDK)lite, (no bluetooth),
with 'camera in use': ArrowOS 12.1, CherishOS, DotOS, Pixel Extended 13, Pixel OS 13
Don't boot at all: CorvusOS, BlissOS, Crdroid, ProjectAwaken 415, DerpFest A13
Android 13 GSI's have a problem with bluetooth that allow connection but no audio to go to headset.

No you don’t have to downgrade, just use the older 2020 Update BL file.
You can use UPI if you can securize the gsi and follow the steps of fixing safetynet. Search them
