Thanks as first but which one are the features of that ROM?

I've been using this for a couple of days now. So far the best ROM out of all of them imho.
Battery life has been incredible. It is so smooth as well.
Less features than the RR but enough to have a few nice tweaks/personalisations.
Hopefully this remains supported by the OP.

How incredible battery life?
Usually users talk about 4-5 SoT which is half of what I get on official China Developer ROM.

Yeah, I don't see a detailed SOT/total battery life (result/review) posts on LOS based rom threads. They get 5H of SOT and call it great, smh. On Miui 2x better than this. Smh

Well Konstantine34 it's clear why. It's because of MIUI is following the typical chinese ROM philosophie, like Huawei etc. MIUI kills all background tasks including services and you've to setup policies for Telegram, Whatsapp, Facebook etc. to make them work like on AOSP based ROMs. You could find many users of MIUI based ROMs asking why they don't receive their messages. Because of the system killing background activty. This is the reason why most chinese ROMs are that battery friendly. If you disable that policies for most apps you'll see MIUI not run a single minute longer than any LOS basec ROM here. Anyway i could reach 9h screen on with RR too. Only one day runtime for sure. Typical for me are around 4h SOT per day over a 48h period without charging. But that strongly depends on which apps are used. Games etc suck the battery more for sure and it's an h more or less.
P.S. i have even LMK disabled and if i open any app it's on the same stage i've closed it. If i open chrome the same webpage is displayed without reloading a single bit. On miui it's reloading everything. For me working multitasking is much more important.
But maybe i'm not the right guy to talk about MIUI, the reason why i've made the first devicetree for our loved MIX, was/is that i really can not stand this iphonish MIUI interface. So even if it has trippled battery life i'll not install it again

2x not quite, had a go the other day with epic, Bluetooth calls people complaining of echo and a couple of other problems I can't remember. Each has plus and minus points.

Yeah I know your preference My point is those call 5H Sot is a great one, also they don't actually mention how much they get, just naming so. Then a miui guy like me consider what they call is juat like what we get on miui roms. When a miui guy flash a LOS based rom and get just 4-5H, they are being like 'where the fook is my great sot?'
Im using mine on Epic rom as all the miui battery saver things and background restriction are disabled for a month; GPS is on all day, navigation for 2-3 Hours and still get 6-7H sot per day. While these disabled; +8-9H sot over a day. So my re-point is they LOS users should sent some proper visual proofs etc to lead others properly. They may be happy with what they get, it's ok but personal preferences shouldn't change the description of 'great'.

Actually it is; I got multiple times 10H sot/1.5days total when i disable all my live funky widgets, xposed modules, statusbar mods etc. But quite happy with average +7H sot over my daily usage.
And you have the fair point, all of them have plus and minus points, thats why we should show appreciation to the MultiROM developer lol, and of course all the rom devs and maintainers etc etc etc.

Anyone having trouble with NFC? I can't seem to find it in the settings.... Search comes up with NFC but it is nowhere to be found.
Probably user error... Any ideas?
Sorry for spamming the thread guys.

Let's see the result :good:
NFC could be a conflicted feature which is perhaps intentionally hidden because of this. If im not wrong, on earlier Los rom; the fingerprint was like that. Better wait the developer to get enlightened.

NFC doesn't even work for me on Epic rom (at least for Android pay it doesn't vibrate or react at all when I hold my phone up to the terminal). I pass safetynet and was able to add a debit card, but can't seem to get it to work after 3-4 attempts at different places.

The ROM is genious, however the NFC doesn't work at all so no banking application for direct payments can be used ((
Is there any chance to switch it on? I have used NFC with no problem on LOS and Epic, so I should go back to one of them if not.
Let us know friends what is the status of this issue...
Regards!

With cm7 and the amc chip fix implemented I have achieved 2 days on a single charge. A few MMS, plenty of internet browsing(switching from edge to 3g only when i use the internet), at least 400 text messages, a few calls, and about 2 hours of accumulated music playback.
Brightness was at 50%, and wifi was always on.
cm7 10 characters
I installed CoreDroid 4 w\ Sense and Gingerbread last night... kinda loving it a lot right now. It's revamped UI for MMS without the stupida#$ slideshow is soooooo much better. That slideshow really annoyed the hell out of me!
I just got my Inspire yesterday an ms I'm loving it. Although rooting was not as easy as rooting my Evo or Atrix, I was able to get it rooted.
I'm currently running the Rooted Stock ROM and I'm getting great battery life. I haven't flashed any custom kernels either, just the one that came with the rom. Normally about this time on my evo, the battery is almost dead. But not this Inspire...this phone is a beast! I made a couple of calls, sent numerous text and been checking FB every now and then. All I want the phone to do is last at least the 8 hours that I'm at work. Anything after that would be fantastic.

I have run both Revolutions, CoreDroid, CM7, buzz sense, leeDroid, and Dilli.
Before i say my favorite and why, I want to express that i might not have had the right rom/kernel/radio combo on some of my installs, so this is by no means a dig on ANY of them just my inexperience.
My favoirte by far is leeDroid. It has had the best balance for my phone on Battary, UI, speed, and sound.
On some of the GB roms I had some lag, especially after unlocking. On Dilli i had an extreme battary drain. I did like CoreDroid also. I have yet to try an MIUI rom as i enjoy the leedorid so much. I have never had a rom on my phone for this long.
I am actually suprised i haven't seen more activity on his thread, nor mention of his rom in the forum sticky!
Anyway, Thanks to all the chefs in the kitchen!! I have enjoyed all your roms and will be trying them all again!

"switching from edge to 3g" Do tell! Can this be done on a stock rooted rom or only on cm7? Thx
I was originally using the RCMixHD as well, but then i decided to switch it up to CoreDroid V5.1. I must say that i'm loving the custom ROMs, and must again give a shout out to the awesome teams that put these things together. I don't think i could ever go back to stock, especially now that i have Gingerbread!
That being said, my battery life has been inconsistent at best, and insanely pathetic at other times. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is the major cause of my woes. I know when i first flash the ROMs, the battery life is amazing, losing maybe 1% an hour over night. But after i configure it, install all the apps and what not, i lose on average of 3-4% an hour, in airplane mode & with NO use at all. When i actually use it, it jumps up by a factor of 3x.
So basically, i still need to find the battery sweet spot by getting rid of the apps/settings that kill my battery. I'm open to suggestions!
Use CURRENT WIDGET (app store) to find and kill the apps that drain your battery!!

I use Team Pheonix gingerbread. 509. With no cm settings. I use adw ex instead of the stock launcher. Set CPU. Recommended radio and kernel. Juice defender on aggressive
I text quite a bit for the first 4 hours along with look up xda and Facebook. And periodically through a 8 hour shift at work I text and get on xda and Facebook. (Also after I charge it it sits at idle for 8 hours while I sleep) and I get 30 hours or so depending on use

[Q] Which custom rom/kernel is best for battery life?

I am currently using AOSP+ with the speedy 5 kernel and its chewing up my battery life like theres no tomorrow. I'm dropping at an average of 10% per hour. Autosync, brightness, update intervals disabled or turned down to minimal. My wakelocks are normal. The thing that bothers me the most is the Android OS that's chewing up 45-50% of my battery life. I never had this problem at all with gb. I can go 16-17 hrs without a charge.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try downgrading to the Speedy-4 Kernel. I'm running the latest AOSP+ rom with the Speedy-4 kernel and my battery life is excellent. I can post a download link to the Speedy-4 kernel if you're interested.

I have the same configuration, Skype used to eat most of my battery and I think this is because Skype haven't update their app yet. I don't use maps or location services, but I noticed that google location service is always on, I forced closed it ( it gets back sometimes) Anyway, after closing skype my battery performance is ok. I used to lose 10%/ hour even if the phone was idle, after these mods I think I lost less than 5% in three idle hours.
Most of the custom ROMs and kernels are rubbish, aren't they? I mean if people really knew what they were doing, they'd work together with kalimochoAz on the official source. Or at least port it back upstream once they've got it working...

I personally run AOKP Milestone 2 with Steve Garon's 1.12 kernel and my stock battery runs 30+ hrs with fairly heavy usage.
AOKP/Garon have awesome features above and beyond cm9/kali at this point, and performance has been flawless.

Google Services is running in the background. I unchecked all "location services" and even unchecked automatic restore and backup.

[Q] Better battery life with 4.2.2??

i've been reading reports of users with N4's getting upwards of 50% increased battery life with the latest stock 4.2.2 update... found multiple people reporting the same thing on the N7 as well... i wonder what was in that update and i wonder if anyone that was using a 4.2.1 ROM that's now on 4.2.2 can share their experience on any increases or decreases they've noticed...
I'm currently running BB7, which is a 4.2.1 based ROM... was thinking of trying another ROM but obviously want to go to a 4.2.2 ROM with theme chooser to find out... just want some feedback before i make the jump...

i flashed a test build for BB8 earlier today... charged up and so far with sync on (usually kills my battery) and 4G/gps on as well and i dropped about 5% in just about 1.5hrs... that seems pretty good for me so far... i usually have to turn off sync and all data services to stay at a steady % for a while... hopefully when i turn thos things off, it won't barely drop... oh and that's with like 10mins of screen so far lol... just a few texts and screenshots to upload some images for my new theme!
This was on the first discharge cycle after flashing the new 4.2.2 Greenblue AOSP. I think it is going to get even better!

That's insane... o_o do you have only the screen turned out and didn't do anything? No way in hell someone can get 7 hours of on screen time in 1 charge and still have 26%, unless the phone was charged inbetween, just not completely.

I just posted a screenshot of what i saw on my screen a few hours ago.
2g-only mode + minimum brightness + nfc-off, gps-off, data-off, wifi-off afaik

How does the battery screen look though?
i'm extremely lucky if i can get 3hrs of screen time... i usually would get around 2-2.5hrs of screen... i also usually have 4G turned on... that 7hrs is not normal and def looks like an extended battery... no way thats stock... if so, what are your exact settings?
btw, my 2 days on 4.2.2 so far have been about the same as with 4.2.1 as far as battery goes... maybe a slight increase in idle time when i have everything turned off (not airplane just data/wifi/gps/sync/etc turned off)... still too early to tell for sure tho!

that cant be true...i used that combination many times and the most screen time i got was 4h30. i have seen some guys reach 5h and something but 7h and still 26% is just ridiculous. did you restore a nandroid backup that had screen on time recorded or something?
the only way i could consider that is if you put the cpu max @100mhz and left the phone with the screen on for those 7 hours without touching it lol
The best I've ever gotten was 5:20 hours of screen on time with a few 4+ hours of screen on time. I can only do it if I have WiFi & great signal like 3 or 4 bars & the ROM has to be CM10 stable which gives me best battery I've ever gotten I've said this in a few threads already. I can't believe 7+ hours of screen on time with stock 1500mah battery in the Nexus S!

Most I get is probably like an hour screen on

This test is not relevant. Screen on without any phone activity is not equal to using the phone from time to time.

[Q] Satisfaction with N5?

I've got a few questions about the N5 if you folks don't mind answering. Any input would be greatly appreciated
How satisfied are you with your N5, both in terms of the body and performance? Easy to operate with one hand?
What is the default DPI? My Moto G is 320, wishing it was better than that.
I've got a Moto G, and I have enough system UI FCs with both the CM and Paranoid ROM that it is quite annoying and I am back on stock, unrooted (since I never can find flashable zips of the stock ROMs). Even like that if I dirty flash the latest RC/M release. How stable are the RC/M releases of CM and Paranoid on the N5? Any kinds of errors or problems of any sort?
How good is the battery life? I don't have a data plan, don't make very many calls (less than one a day on average and then they are normally only a few minutes), and barely use GPS/Bluetooth, so the only battery drain would be using apps and wifi. I'd say I probably use anywhere from 3-5 hours of on screen time on a heavy days use, based on the battery stats I see when I check it on my Moto G from time to time.
If I root the N5, without flashing a custom ROM or recovery, can it still receive OTA Android updates?
Does Google have a good history of supporting it's older devices with OS updates (all nexus, even the old school ones before the Nexus 4, and GPE type devices, for example)? Afterall, I don't want to buy it and find out that a year from now Google won't be upgrading it to the latest OS. I know there are always custom ROMs to accomplish that, but I know sometimes they aren't always as stable when a device doesn't have an official OS upgrade released.

I'm not answering most of your questions because they've all been answered before.
This question though, doesn't make sense. DPI isn't better or worse. Perhaps you don't understand what DPI is so I'll help with that.

Guess I should have been more clear. I meant better as in lower so I can fit more on the screen. 320 dpi on the moto g makes everything bigger than I prefer. I had it at 245 when I was rooted on a custom ROM.
1. extremely satisfied, really. in cant say anything bad about it.
2. there are much better roms than cm or paranoid. stop looking at whats popular, as popular is rarely best.
3. i see 5 hours screen on time every day. but battery life is determined by how youy personally use the phone, how you personally set it up, what apps you use, and very much the quality of data/phone signal that you get.
4. if you root your phone, without changing any files at all, you can receive and apply an ota. but once you change 1 file, you wont be able to flash an ota. but thats ok, you can always flash manually.
5. google has an extraordinary history of supporting its devices. we have even had google engineers help us with nexus devices on xda before
about stability and roms, nexus devices arent like the others. the public source is always available to a nexus, so no modding needed. on older devices, that google has stopped supporting, aosp will still work on them, its only the binaries that dont get pushed out anymore.

in a way, yes, as the binaries will never get updated. but in another way no, as on the gnex, nexus s, and nexus one actually they are just reusing the older binaries with the new os versions.

yea, changing anything will prevent you from flashing an ota. youll still receive the ota, just wont be able to flash it. again, its extremely easy to flash it manually, you dont have to look for otas. manually, you can even flash the new update even before you get the ota. and you dont need root to flash manually.

Mann you're thinking too much. If you can wait, I'll surely suggest you to look into the next possible nexus codenamed "Shamu" which has entered the rumorland.
Yes, it would. DPI needs to be changed in the build.prop file which is a system file.

If the rumor is true about the screen size of the Nexus 6, that thing is going to be too damn big for my liking.
I like everything about the nexus 5 EXCEPT: LTE problems. Signal stability in LTE is poor. Sometimes with LTE on, I cannot make a phone call or get "data not available" errors. A power down/up fixes the problem (sometimes toggling airplane mode also fixes but not always). Everywhere I get 1 bar of LTE I get 3bars or better with my Blackberry Q10 phone. Where I get 3-4 bars of LTE on the Nexus, download speeds of 33MB/sec while I get 47 MB/Sec with my Blackberry.
And that is my only issue as I like the Nexus 5 in all other aspects.
Neither Google nor TMO could fix this LTE issue (it is a known issue if you check the web but TMO says it is not a known issue). I am waiting for a callback from Google-they will probably send me another (which most likely won't work well either).
I have a stock OS (4.4.4), bootloader unlocked, rooted and have installed Xposed modules (Gravity, Xblast ).

its NOT an issue with the phone, it could very well be an issue with your local network. oh, and you cant compare bars.. first, those bars tell you about phone signal, not data. secondly, every manufacturer use their own codes for the bars. one phones 1 bar could be equal to another phones 3 bars. oh, and xposed causes many undocumented issues. depending what you are using it for, it might very well play a role in your issues.

Yes but the moto g is a different phone with a different PPI. Knowing the DPI of the nexus 5 tells you nothing. But you can still change it.

battery life is all about how you personally use your phone, how you set it up, what apps you use, and the quality of your phone/data connection. if that quality is only so so, then no matter what you do, your battery life will only be so so.

About the battery life...i do an intensive use of the phone.. I use app like greenify and quarantine to disable the app/services that I don't use... I also flash ElementalX kernel to improve performance and battery life..But a 3000mah battery could be awesome... About the camera... Producers like Sony or HTC are soooo far better about camera lens.. And NO, I don't need lesson from you
But I agree that, for 349 euros (dollars) LG can't do more (excepet a bigger battery)

i know its a thing that continues to be told over and over.. kernels wont improve your battery life. its an untruth. if it was true, every single person would be using the same "magic" kernel. i will get the exact same battery life on any kernel. regardless if it has "battery saving" code included or not. if you set up your cpu, on any kernel, the same, you'll get the same battery life. and my battery life is great, i get 5 hours screen on time no matter what. thats more than most lg g2 users get, and thats a 3000mah battery. it doesnt matter if you use apps like greenify or not, if your setup or phone/data signals arent good, youll have lousy battery life.
about the cam.. the camera isnt some expensive camera for professional use, its a mobile phone camera. and its not the top mobile phone camera either. but it is near the top, and takes great photos. if you are a person that actually knows how to use a camera, not just point and click, then the camera should should be quite more than just adequate for you. give me a camera, even the worst, and ill privide you with great photos.

This is an unoffical experimental build of ResurrectionRemix_LP for the Nexus 7(2012).
Latest 5.1.1_r3 (LMY48B)

Awesome! My favorite rom and thanks for the 5.3.6 update.

Is it stable for day to day?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Thanks for the new release! Version 5.3.7 has been running great on my grouper, now will test version 5.3.8 and then probably sit tight until CM merges in LP 5.1.
Version 5.3.7 was an excellent release, stable with all the great extra features and the addition of being able to make a custom nav button for the power menu. I don't think any other custom rom has that feature yet but then again, I'm not checking/testing many other roms since you started building RR.
Thanks again for the great work and a great rom.
Mike T
Hi Daniel, thanks for the new 5.1 build. I believe it's the first CM12.1 based rom released for grouper/tilapia...Congrats! Thank you for your work on getting this done so quickly.
I haven't really tested very much, I'm on EST and I'm about to get some sleep. The one thing I initially came across is wifi/settings/advanced force closes.
Also, just for further info, I tried dirty flashing this over RR v 5.3.8 while also flashing Banks latest 5.1 gapps and I got multiple force closes of Google apps, like Gmail and Youtube. A clean flash solved the problem. I also noticed that on initial setup, it takes a fairly long time to process the google connection. It almost looks like it's going to hang. I think this is just something new with CM12.1, as I experienced the same behavior on another device with a CM12.1 based rom. Although in that instance, I had to skip initial setup and let it boot into the OS before setting up wifi and google account.
Thank again for the build, I'll be re-setting it up and testing it out over the next little while.

Mike, keep us informed on how it runs please. I want to try CM12.1 myself, or any ROM based on it for that matter. I've had no luck with any 5.1 based ROM as of yet.
EDIT: Installed it myself as well, but it looks like it may take a very long time to restore the apps. Will report back later.

I just wanted to say that after a day of use I find this to be a fantastic ROM. Far too bloated for me but I can debloat it myself. It seems to be stable and fast, but no faster than freakslim. I can't wait until I can figure out how to run this at 1.6ghz then I suspect it will be faster then anything else I have ever tried.
Very good ROM. I highly recommend people try it.

Im having fc with package installer any help would be thankfull
I downloaded the 5.3.9 version (md5 matched), flashed it and lockscreen would always stay black and unlockable. I thought it was a bug, and wiped and flashed again with no gapps. Started facing constant random reboots and I could no longer boot into TWRP, it would just stay at the TWRP splash screen. Fastboot flashed various versions of TWRP but no luck. The only option I had was to flash factory image and wipe off everything.

Well, I don't think any of these LP roms are stable. Freaks ROM was never really stable for me, it was just very fast, fastest ROM so far, but its based on 5.0.2. I have not found one yet that I consider stable, not LP based anyway. And is there a kernel that overclocks for use on 5.1 ROMs? I have not tried M-Kernel because he has not updated it to 5.1 yet.
I was "thinking" about trying stock 5.1, but that is almost like me trying to live without breathing. Just the word "Stock" makes me cringe....
Has anyone found a way to overclock these 5.1 based ROMs yet? I really need my 1.5 ghz or 1.6 ghz back. Thanks

I have already included the local_manifest.xml for building this rom. Same as the official Resurrection_Remix ROMs, I use the CyanogenMod kernel.
My Tilapia is a daily driver. Stability and battery life is my main concern. I tried M-kernel. It did't work without modification. I felt the back cover getting hot after a while. I don't think it is good for battery life. Anyway, if you think O/C is essential, just do your own mod. It is the fun part of Android. There are already a few good kernels waiting for you to test.

Some of you guys must be come from a wealthy region and your parents are taking really good care of you. You may get whatever you want by shouting for mummy or daddy. I came from a poor family. My father died when I was at grade school. My mother don't have the resource and education rising us to be some fat and self retarded kid who complaining for an extra mouse click. Most of the time, I have to figure out things myself.
In the real world, we can't get everything we want. We can get something if we are working hard for it. It's time to grow up.
Someone from my Tilapia thread suggested me to add a thread here. I think its a good idea but I don't want to update two separate threads with the same content. So I just included a link.
I cherish a few nice words, a thank or a report (even if it's mean) but I don't think I need this kind of virtual publicity. I would follow RR as genuine as possible, I don't think I can fulfil every need. So I just give my thread one star.

Sorry Daniel, I wasn't talking about your OP (Your OP is fantastic), I was talking about the Bricked kernels OP not mentioning something important, but I now realize its not mentioned for a good reason. lol
Oh, and yes running 1.5ghz or 1.6ghz (my preferred mhz) as was intended by NVIDIA, (1.5 Ghz is NOT an overclock, it is the Tegra3 sweet spot and what the Engineers intended this CPU to run at), but 1.2ghz is a under-clock and can introduce unseen instabilities. Instead, if I limit the device to two cores at 1.5ghz which is all Android uses/needs anyway and using my own settings I get a device that gives me more battery life and a rom that feels twice as fast at everything. The ONLY reason it has a QUAD core cpu, is because Specs sell, even though the engineers knows that Android does not need four cores, the fact is if they introduce an 8 core device, it would greatly sell just because it has 8 cores. The Quad Spec was simply for selling more of them at the time, NOT for a performance boost. There is no reason why we can't have more stability, more battery life and more speed, I just need the settings present so I can dial that in... By the way 1.2ghz on four cores burns more power then 2 cores at 1.5ghz, but 1.5ghz on Android is faster then 1.2ghz, on my N7 anyway. So, I just prefer to utilize the cores more efficiently, that's all. This device needs more mhz, not more cores. My N7 is super stable at both 1.5 and 1.6ghz, and it is only when I try 1.7ghz that it loses any stability. All CPU's get warm when turned on (I worked for Intel for a very long time, I know this), so if I can feel the heat on the back that just tells me the Thermal Interface is working efficiently. Its not a sign that something is wrong with the device.
Anyway, I'm not a Software developer, I'm an Intel Electronics Technician by trade, so I don't want to try and build my own kernel, I get a headache if I stay at the screen too long anyway, haha. Which is why I asked if someone knew of a 5.1 based kernel that already had more settings potential. Its perfectly OK if one isn't available yet, but I can still ask around? I been here at XDA since before the Android days (Windows Mobile first brought me here) and the one thing I learned is that this place is intended for asking questions. I have hundreds of helpful posts spread out over nearly 8 years, so I "should" have the right to ask if a kernel exists that suits my device and usage patterns better. Right? :good: It was just a friendly question anyway.
Your OP is great, and your ROM is awesome Daniel. I just want to "try" and get more out of it like I did with all the previous ROMs I have used. Thanks :good:

Thanks for the info!
My tab runs on max. 1.3G and it would take longer to generate the same among heat as in 1.5G. I assume that's normal.
In this case, I'll download and study the manual for Tegra3. If I can, I might add higher frequencies to the kernel's table. It seems doesn't hurt to have extra choices.
Further info. are welcome.
