Power off the device then try booting to download mode (volume down+home+power, press up when prompted). If you can get to download mode, try flashing the stock firmware.

i see 4 BGL version. How to understand which to install ?
I cannot enter recovery. I see the image i showed in first post

There is no a way -that I know of- other than trying to flash twrp, then doing a backup and moving it to the PC this voids warranty

The devices has no warranty.

Then go ahead flash twrp

Of the 4 that you found, you need to install the one that works for the mobile carrier that the device is used with.

The OEM unlock setting itself has nothing to do with whether TWRP can be flashed. That is just a setting that "allows" you to unlock the bootloader, it doesn't unlock the bootloader, it only puts the device in a state that the bootloader "can" be unlocked if there is a known unlock method.
You can enable OEM unlock as many times as you want, that doesn't mean the bootloader is unlocked. The bootloader has to actually be unlocked using an unlock method.

No, you can't, that has to be changed in system settings, you can't get to the settings because of your screen.
Forget about TWRP. Just flash the same android version that the device had before the issue started and the data won't get wiped. When it comes to flashing Samsung devices with Odin, the only time it wipes your data is when a firmware is flashed that has an upgraded or downgraded bootloader compared to what was already on the device. Flash the same thing the device already had and you won't lose anything.

You need to slow down and pay attention to details about what people post when describing their issue. You are so impatient to answer that you are posting irrelevant and confusing information for their circumstances. They can't boot this device or get to settings. If they attempt to flash TWRP while their bootloader is locked, it could make things worse. Consider the consequences of what you suggest and consider that most people don't know what they are doing and don't know the risks involved or how to check that your suggestions are safe before they do them. They could blindly walk into a bigger problem.
In this situation, the bootloader could very well be locked without them being aware that it's locked.
In the future, I wouldn't suggest that they flash TWRP when the bootloader can't be confirmed. Stop making suggestions if you can't confirm anything.
Making suggestions without being certain of the state of their device will at some point lead to you telling them to do something that makes things worse instead of helping them. I know you really want to help, but jumping the gun and making suggestions can lead to causing more harm than helping.
Make suggestions that you are "certain" will work, don't make suggestions that "could" work under the right conditions. In this case, you can't be certain that flashing TWRP will work so you should not have suggested it, understand? If the bootloader is locked and they flash TWRP but it bricks the device because the bootloader is locked, what then? Bricking the device will be your fault because you suggested something without being certain. You should have asked more questions and gotten more information about the exact state of this device and it's bootloader status, then, if everything is correct, suggesting to flash TWRP would be safe.

Thank you for these suggestions.
However, they all consist in flashing a stock ROM and bootloader onto the device, overwriting the current setup.
Do I really need to to this, given that the current bootloader is stock (never flashed it, not needed with the method I used) and the ROM is 100% stock also (came from OTA). I am really curious about this thing and would like to understand what went wrong, instead of just overwriting everything and starting over.
Anyways, the suggested method should be fine in case i need to return the tablet for warranty purposes. That was my primary concern. Thanks!

When you you root you replace stock files and add some new files that are detected by the installation process of the OTA updates. This sets a flag to block further updates from Samsung. You can still update by restoring to stock then getting the updates then rooting again, but OTAs will not be automatically delivered to your device while its rooted.

[Q] Soft Bricked HTC One X att with download mode only

Hello everyone I'm new to modding htc. I bought a htc one x that can only enter download mode. Can someone help me to fix it.
P.S Yes the bootloader is unlocked
How do you know the bootloader is unlocked if the device is bricked? What do you mean by download mode? You're gonna need to provide more information than that.

Its soft bricked, download mode is entered when you press volume down and the power button. It doesn't have a recovery.
There's no such thing as a soft brick, a phone is either bricked or it isn't, so if your phone powers on at all it isn't bricked. You've got your terminology mixed up a bit, the screen you enter with the volume down + power button combo is called the bootloader screen. What details are listen in that screen? Is there a custom recovery installed, and if so, what version?

I'm aware that people use the term soft brick, I'm saying that the use of that term is incorrect. A brick is a brick, it isn't subject to gradation, if a phone is bricked it will not power on at all. Your situation isn't close to being bricked, you just don't have an OS installed. You probably just need to install a recovery and then a ROM.

Just because folks use the term, doesn't mean its correct.
For this device, if the screen comes on, it can be recovered.
A brick is a phone that can't be recovered without opening it (replacing motherboard, JTAG, etc.).
Folks like to say "soft brick", but all they really mean is "I did something wrong to my phone, and now I don't know how to make it boot up normally".

I have this same phone......rooted. Can use your help. I want flash any working verizon rom. But more importantly I want to know how to recover from a brick..............
Noticed you were able to recovery from a brick......with Odin? Curious how. I tried to flash a stock Verizon rom, while rooted with ODIN, and pit file.......but it fails.
I am nervous of trying to flash TWRP and custom rom, if I don't know of a full proof recovery method.
Any help is much appreciated.

If I were you I would try to boot into w.e it allows you to, where you can use adb and fastboot commands and try to install the factory image, you should never do anything to the phone internally before unlocking the bootloader

Please, don't overshare! Leave some of the magic to be discovered
So how do I turn this into root access on my g892u?
Is this file for flashing in Odin? Please elaborate for those of us who lack expertise.
Thanks a million to anybody who is working on a root for this amazing phone!!
Anyone try this yet? And I assume this is the engineering BL. Based off the title, so wouldn't we still need someone like chainfire to release root for the device? Also I wonder if this is for 892A or 892U.
To many unanswered questions.
I flashed this and it did work for the T-Mobile 892U variant. However all it appears to be is the unlocked/engineering bl and nothing more. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. I was successfully able to flash back to stock afterward so we do at least have that small comfort that the stock images are out. I tested flashing the s8 and s8 plus images and there's no compatibility between this and them. If anyone can find anything more I'll use my phone as the guinea pig for it.
If someone has the 892a like myself and we are on bootloader 2, we don't currently have Odin files to return to stock. The only files available are BL1. I assume the u fw is still on the same BL as the released Odin files.
It is. Have you tried flashing this and then following up with the fw for the u to see if it can put the a on the u fw? And last I looked you do have Odin files for the a. Let me find the link.

Those are ota zips posted, the a Odin files are still BL1, so we can't use them anymore. And I have not tried flashing u for that exact reason. The inability to get back.
And a locked bootloader...

The bootloader doesn't need to be unlocked to reflash fw w Odin. That's the point of having the Odin files.
How does that work, having multiple bootloaders? I've never had to deal with that before.
You don't have multiple bootloaders.s, you would flash the engineering BL in place of our current. But again there is no way to revert right now.
So I have the a active I understand I cannot revert back but will this achieve root?

Theoretically it could but we would need a way to implement SU you can try this and then install SuperSU but I have a feeling that we need a binary built for this phone.
If what you are asking is if only flashing this file and Odin will give you root the answer is no however it is the first step to root assuming that the Eng bootloader allows root. I won't test this or go any further until there are Odin files released for bootloader 2
Had a feeling that would be the case, I didn't want to try anything until I knew for sure. If we're on BL2 wouldn't this never technically work since it's BL1?

Infyrno was able to flash it to his 892u per his post, I'm not sure what BL he was on, or what BL the 892u is at perhaps T-Mobile is still on BL1
Help me please?
I'm looking to root my phone, and got here with all my looking. Can someone point me in the right direction from here? It's my understanding that this isn't all I need, or is it?

You are correct this is only the Eng bootloader. We do not have full root confirmed yet.
This isn't even an "engineering" bootloader, it's just the one from the factory firmware called "combination" on the various sites online. It's the active version of the same one used to root the s8 s8+ and n8
The real engineering bootloader and boot won't boot on our phones, as somehow the engineers devices are marked for it
