[Q] how to backup my tablet's screen setups?

So I have my tablet exactly the way I want it. So what can I use to fully back up the tablet so if something happens I can restore back again?
Is that even possible?

Yeah, I have that..But it seems like it just backs up the individual programs.
Does it back up my widgets, etc so if I restore, the widgets will reload?
SGS tools kinda works for android 2.2. dont know if it works for 3.2
Do a nandroid backup from recovery (assuming you are running a custom rom). Otherwise if you flash a new rom or wipe and try to restore your launcher app the widgets wont reload. For some reason widgets are tied to an specific install and dont work when restoring them in a new rom.

[Q] Dirty flash

Would there be any harm if I dirty flashed albinoman's 4.3.1 ROM over his 4.2.2 ROM? I don't wanna lose all the data but do an upgrade, or would it not work? I'm aware that dirty flashing does cause issues sometimes, but not always. Seems to work fine, so far.
Also, say android1-7 fixes current bugs in his 4.4.1 ROM and I want to switch - is there any way to transfer my data? Titanium Backup comes to mind, but not sure if that'd cause problems; JB -> KitKat.
Thanks in advance.
Please Backup before doing anything.
If u want tro try a dirty flash, u got to Wipe system and cache, then flash ROM... Maybe it will cause FC...
you will tell us .
Its better to try backing up ROM on recovery, then backing up datas with Titanium Backup, Wipe All partitions then Flash new ROm and u will install back your datas from titanium
I always do backups. I'm on specific app data if I wanted to go from JB to KK, would it still work via Titanium Backup? (some will know; if they are on 4.4.x ROM already)
Also, how do I change the dimensions of the drawer? It's 4x5 right now, and I'd want it preferably 4x4 instead, or even 3x4. I can't find it in the Drawer settings. (albino's 4.3.1 ROM).

Yes titanium backup will work in any Roms u have I use it all the time to flash back my apps back easily
And for the app drawer I haven't used albino ROM ,but think u need a custom launcher like KitKat launcher ,nova etc to get that option

Awww, snap. Quite a pity - I liked Sense ROM having two options for the app drawer. I'll get used to it then.
So Titanium works with any ROM, great. That solves it then! Thanks for the help.

Using TB To Backup on KitKat and Restore on Lollipop

Hey guys quick question, is it a bad idea to do a app+data backup of my apps using TB on 4.4.4 ROM and firmware and then upgrading firmware+ROM to 5.0.1 and then restoring my apps+data? If it makes any difference I'd be going from CleanROM 3.0 to CleanROM 4.0 with a full wipe. All feedback is welcome and appreciated, thanks!

It's hit and miss. I let apps reinstall from the store and then only install Data to the one's that really need it. LP may have a different directory structure than KK. I attempt to do App + Data restores for those that are missing but find Data does not alaways work. I then have to back and redo Data. The apps highlighted in green and yellow are usually safe to restore and contain Data (settings) from System apps. That normally works to restore BT, WiFi, Accounts, messages, and call logs, etc.
Others swear by MyBackupPro and Ultimate Backup. I am just used to TiBU. If an app has its own backup, I always try to use that. One thing for sure, it is absolute PIA.

Can stock firmware phones be unrooted to become pure stock again?

For instance, I have a pure stock phone. Then I realize I need to use Titanium Backup (root) a bit, so I root my phone. After finishing backing up, I unroot my phone (by uninstalling SuperSU). So, does my phone return to pure stock then? Is unrooting process reliable?

Safe to restore apps and settings when downgrading?

I've grown tired of bugs in Marshmallow (clock/time issue and notifications rarely working to be specific). I'm planning on downgrading to Lollipop. My question is... is it safe to restore apps and settings with Titanium Backup after doing so?
I was worried the settings for some apps might be saved based on a Marshmallow configuration, so if they were restored on an actual Lollipop configuration, it could cause problems.

It should work fine as long as you don't restore system data.
If you downgrade and the phone is stuck at the boot animation, you may have to perform a factory reset.
