In this guide, I will be briefly introducing the concept of adding sounds to the bootanimation.zip structure found in every Android device. This means that you can use a custom substratum theme that comes with boot animation, on an AOSP based ROM or derivative.
There have been a line of OEMs that are known for their start up tones — Samsung’s swish, HTC’s piano, etc. Attached below is an example boot animation with sound from stock SM-G955N (Samsung Galaxy S8+ Korean variant) on SKT carrier.
Adding sound to a boot animation is rather simple, involving the addition a file named audio.wav to the folder of the individual parts of a boot animation to have it play when the part starts playing.
A typical bootanimation follows this structure:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
To have a sound effect played as part4 is initialized, you just have to add an audio.wav to the part4 folder, so when part4’s frames begin to play, the sound file will be played as well!
It is common practice to have the boot animation play at the end or the start of the boot animation. It will be my recommendation to refrain from using any sound during the loops as loops inside the configuration file will keep restarting the part — hence the sound you thought you would only hear once, will keep looping (unless this is the intended behaviour!).
Now, let’s be creative and design amazing boot animations!

Nice, thank you, Nick
Tried this one on lineage os.Nothing is playing on boot.Only animation is showing.Trued .ogg,.mp3 formats also.
Any app to apply sound to boot?
How can I add a boot animation zip on substratum?
Need pixel 2 boot animation with sound effects. That would be awesome for LOS 15.
This is awesome.. can't wait to try it out!!
I only have part 0,1,2 ?

I guess it will play as long as u provide a wav file in a part. In part 0 for music at start or in last part to music at the end.
Not working.
black screen,not working!
Can anybody confirm this in LineageOS 14.1?
Also, what about the charging animation when phone is powered off.
I tried this, but boot sound doesnt come up... this doesnt work on android 10???
Thanks bro, is worked for me

You did it! Today you are my hero! Thank you very much! Now let me buy you a drink or something.
This is so so cool
how would i push this to froyo?
is it:
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
EDIT: nevermind, figured it out, just had to flash via recovery
Here is an inverted copy of the original boot animation (white on black, instead of black on white).
There is a "flash" of white on the loop, not sure where that is coming from.
Again all due credit is to the OP, I just inverted the colors.

nice! I first made it that way but the size pictures I used made it way to "heavy". It was easier to just do it white after spending so much time on it.
that "flash" is probably the transition from part0 to part1..messing with the desc could fix it.
for me it doesn't matter, with froyo I don't get past 00073 and I think page 2 starts at 00090+.
This boot animation is insane, I love it! Thanks for sharing it
You are the man!!! this is some cool ass ****, im gonna keep restarting my phone now lol.

Sorry i do not have a gif, but the pictures give a crude idea of what it is...
It seems to run a bit slow, is everyone experiencing this? I believe the cause is because my custom version is nearly 4 times taller than the original
This is my version of an Anti-Nexus boot animation
DO NOT WORRY, the originals are also in this post and can be restored
Its a full white screen boot with full colored and black nexus animation.
Directions:
Flash via Recovery (Easiest Way)
-Download Either My Custom Anti Nexus or the Original Boot

Looks nice, does run slow but no biggie. Still looks good.
Right now I'm using the vanilla android boot animation of just the nice android name with the light reflecting off of it (same boot animation that my old G1 still has running carrier-provided Donut). Considering that I'm running a vanilla ROM (Fission 2.2.1), and that I have a custom boot image (3D CGI Andy slicing a 3D CGI Apple logo apple in half with a lightsaber), I have a request for a boot image file zipped that can be applied with the .zip method.
I don't have artistic skills or the appropriate programs, so I'm hoping someone here an help me out with this.
I'm wanting a boot animation where 3D CGI Andy slices and dices the 3D Apple Computer apple with his green lightsaber and then beneath this scene appears the vanilla android logo (what the vanilla android boot animation is currently).
Personally, I think this would be an awesome vanilla boot animation, so it has use beyond just my personal tastes.
Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if anyone would be interested in helping me out. Thanks
Your asking a lot these things take a lot of work to create. With what you want you should throw out some money for it. I can make simple boot animations and that alone takes time. What you want will take some time and work. Maybe someone will want to try it out.

For something that sweet I'd be willing to throw some $$ out. Plus, whoever creates it then has the rights to put it on the market and charge some for it.
If I have time this weekend I'll look into it. Here's the boot animation I made to match my RX-8 and the carPC I have installed.

I know the 3d models of andy and the apple are out there because of the various images i've run across on the web using them in various poses and scenes. I'll post a few to show you what I mean:

My current boot image
Someone had to create these and them model them. Yes these are the rendered results which is different than what is needed to create the render or animation, but they ARE out there I'm guessing. And I keep thinking "There's gotta be a way to animate these."
Wow that does look neat! If someone had all the photo files I could throw it all together into a bootanimation.zip

Hey everyone. I'm working on a new bootanimation. My brother in law is a fireman and inspired me to make this. I have a preliminary rough draft. Looking for some testers and feedback.
Im planning on adding smoother animation for the droid and having the apple burn and ash away and turn into the android logo.
Boot Animation BURN2
Part2:
Fixed the link on my computer. On the phone it only allows uploads of media files. I edited the filetype to .zip. So now just download, rename, and replace old file.
This is the second edition of the boot animation. I think it's starting the polish up nicely. The first edition was basically a structure and base design just to see where things go. This edition is slightly more polished. I noticed Andy does a little hop before starting the apple on fire but I kind of like how it triggers the flames. Please leave any feedback on changes I can make. Also, I'm going to upload some custom icons I made for myself and my brother in law.
Anyway here's the link to the newest edition

I will try it out and I will LOVE to see your final work. I am a fireman also. THANKS
Changed it to zip but it just says Android like the default boot but ok none the less

I also have to mention its not a flashable zip. Replace your stock bootanimation.zip. rename it to match. MUST be named bootanimation.zip or for Sense VZW_BOOTANIMATION.ZIP

Will try thanks

I'll do something about the large ass preview once I get some more that I've been looking at done.
I did this on linux, and this is what I did to achieve 0 compression:
my working directory, as it's easier for me is this:
Code:
[B]/home/<username>/bootanimation/<project title>/[/B]
Here I keep my source files, and use it as a workspace,
Code:
[B]/home/<username>/bootanimation/<project title>/output[/B]
this is where I put my android folder or part0 folder, depending on what I felt like calling it at the moment and desc.txt.
Next I run these commands(I'll show my exact steps I used):
Code:
[B]cd ~/bootanimation/Angel/output/[/B] (in case you aren't in your output DIR already)
[B]zip -0 bootanimation.zip ./android/* desc.txt[/B] (replace android with the name of your folder with pictures and duplicate that part if you're doing a 2 part animation ex: ./android1/* ./android2/*)
[B]adb remount[/B] (assuming you've added ADB to your path)
[B]adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media[/B] (or /data/local depending on your rom I think)
[B]adb reboot[/B]
Hope this helps for anyone with Linux, who just couldn't get zero compression on their zips and were unsure of a clean way to zip and push, and were too afraid to ask I hope this helps someone!

Was browsing deviant art, and came across this cool mp4,

I won't post a preview, as going to the above link suffices, and all credit goes to the original author of this animation, I just packaged it into a bootscreen! this one's rather large at 16mb folks, so I've hosted it at my dropbox, to which all boot animations will shortly move,
