Are there some root apps or xposed modules who can put unread badges on apps like snapchat/instagram? Don`t want to use google play apps who uses a widget to get this solved.
You could try Xperia™ Unread.
It's paid, i've didn't tested yet

Yeah i know.. But im using Apex launcher and heave notification badges enabled there but notifications only showing for phone app. I know there was a root app a couple of years ago who worked with all apps but dont remeber the name and can`t find it.. :/
This one works well but it's only widgets...I don't know if Apex allow app drawer 1x1 widgets but on homescreen it works well
Notifyer Unread Count
ps : tested with snapchat
This might be helpful (in a way or another):

Also, This app does the job, but for a very limited number of launcher (it might help to find a similar one):
Notification Monitor

Just got my Mate 9 and I am liking it so far. I've used Nova and Go launcher in the past on other phones, however, I seem to like Huawei's own Home launcher. Simple and clean. However, is there a way I can apply icon packs to it? I want to change some icons, but can't seem to find a way to do that.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
You can change icons in theme manager.

I see where the icons are in the Theme manager, but those are just the pre-loaded icons. How do I apply icons packs that I've downloaded from the play store?

Didn't try anything from playstore, but if you download a theme you have to put it in HWthemes folder in internal storage.
Other option you can download online themes from the themes manager and apply the icons only.

How did you get to that? When I click on my Theme icon, all I get is Local theme. I do not see Featured, Top, etc like your screenshot.

I don't think so, probably copyright stuff in there. I do wonder, can you register a huawei Id account? Assuming you have USA firmware.
I also have a l29 but mine is based out of Germany I think.

You're welcome. It's not the perfect solution because if you use app drawer, you can't change icons in app drawer but at least you get a better looking Homescreen.

It's the homescreen icons that I wanted to change, and this worked exactly as I wanted. What icon packs have you tried/like?
I used "clix" for a while, because they loke a bit like the stock icons, but now i have a new theme where all icons i have on my homescreen are included except of the telegram icon, so i made it by myself and applied it with icon changer
I have been using Nova across many versions/devices, including Mate 9 since US release. Today I retried ADW Launcher 2, though I don't know how/why it had anything to do with it.
I noticed my Mate 9 Camera icon was the little green android icon, with app name com.huawei.camera. Hmmm. Same across Huawei, Nova, or ADW launchers
Finding no separate camera app other than that, let's try to take a picture. Nothing. Icon clicks delays a second and stays on the homescreen. Nothing.
Now I can't see any apk or way to update/re-add the app. Can't seem to even have a 3rd party app work.
Help
I would like to help but the only way is to flash full rom, and since that is not possible till now so the only option you have is to use funkyhuawei.
Or give it to your service center if the device still under warranty, they have offline package that can be flash it manually

No, it doesn't work for the US ROM yet. If you want to use it on a US device, you'd have to rebrand.
In the upcoming weeks support for the US version will be added, but we need to wait for Huawei to release a US firmware full update before that can happen.

Thank you very much for the quick heads up. Will grab credits, but will go cameraless hopefully will be a new one with Alexa etc.
Just curious, do any other apps work that use the camera?
If so, could you use a third party camera app temporarily?

There shouldn't way that app was deleted because it should be a system file. Did you check under system>app to see if it's there? If not do a factory reset, it should show up.
It is deleted
I'm having this exact problem...any solution please?
factory reset didn't help...tried
Hello to the lucky ones who have their m30p with google play...
Just wondering, were you able to change the Launcher on your phones to replace EMUI 10 Launcher?
I read here and there, that Huawei blocked third party launchers on the chinese variants of their phones (from EMUI 8)... is this true? Is it possible to make it work via ADB on this EMUI 10?
I haven't got mine yet, but so far my research is no, you can't. There are other apps to disable packages, I will try them but so far it is not positive.
Back to your question, if that is true. Yes, it is.
They blocked that due to fraud replaces their stock launcher with a mock one that have ads or malicious behaviors and sell it to ppl who are not techy.
I thought that excuse is lame since there are other default apps to replace.
mine is not here until Monday. I think i have read in the forums that the stock can disabled with ADB.
ADB does not work for me...
pm uninstall gives the [DELETE_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR]
suggestions welcome

From what I keep reading it's not possible on the Chinese version.

Doesn't work for me still, but if it will eventually - could you kindly explain what settings you changed?
And what you proceeded to do to remove the stock launcher? (Regular adb uninstall method?)
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't change stock launcher I was speaking in regards to the project menu( didn't seem to always appear but will eventually.
I have done all of this but the app says cant disable/uninstall the Huawei home apk contact us for more support
I've spent a lot of time trying to get round this on my Mate 30 Pro.
I've tried every vector I can think of and no dice yet sadly!
Today I had update 132 on my LIO AL00 and now I can use Nova launcher as the default launcher.
IGNORE THAT . When it rebooted after update it asked me if I wanted to use Nova or Hauwei Home.. Now its defaulted back to Huawei Home and no option for Nova
Anyone? I'm almost going to sell it just because I cant have Nova as default launcher?

You can't on the china version but on the international you can change the default launcher.
I don't think there is a solution as of now, maybe we have to live with default Huawei launcher for some time.
