Wife Wants new phone- LG G2 size, good battery, camera, and gps. Reccomendations?

My wife has a LG G2. It has been acting up a lot- specifically the GPS. She would like a new phone. She doesn't need a lot of fancy features. Doesn't necessarily care about brand. She also doesn't care a whole lot about whether it is on the latest version ect. She is looking for:
- Something the G2 size or smaller
- A really good camera
- Good GPS that locks and stays locked
-And a good battery life.
- Must work on ATT HSPA or LTE.
Do you have any recommendations on a good phone that is sub $300?
I don't know what price plans are available to you...
But as far as your hardware specifications are concerned LG G4 or Samsung Galaxy S5 would do the job.
Sub $300 can give you really wide range of options as for android phone. As for your requirements ZTE S6 or Elephone P8000 or Huawei P8 can be taken into consideration.

I think the Galaxy S5 and G2 are fairly similar in specs. Looking for something a little newer. The G4 is just too big for my wife.

All interesting phones, but I do not believe any of those have the bands needed for ATT. But thanks for the suggestions! I wish some more brands in China actually has the bands needed here. So many I would try!

I googled the band which ATT supports. And the network of ZTE S6 and Huawei P8.
HTH.

Yes, this is one I am considering. Also maybe the ZTE Axon Mini. Right now at Best Buy and with Samsung promotions you can get a Galaxy S6 with $300 in rebates, free battery pack, free charger, and free nice head phones. Bringing cost before freebies to $285. That is very tempting.

I really like lg as well, but I have been disappointed with the latest offerings.
I ordered a ZTE Axon Mini and a Xiaomi Mi 4c to try out. We shall see how they do!

LG G Flex 2 Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Hey guys, i looked up on the net for this but on news articles it says it will get the upgrade but on some forums people say they contacted LG and they say it won't get the upgrade. Do you know what will happen for certain? Please let me know.
I think its just matter of time when will they confirm it officially, LG PL said they cant give exact info, but LG Romania said they will roll update in H1 2016,so we got to wait. Also on LG Smartworld there appeared option for Android 6.0,so its close.

Well I hope they confirm it soon because I will choose to buy G Flex 2 over G3 if it supports Marshmallow. What do you think, which one would last me longer? I won't be buying a new phone for at least 2 years, so i want good specs on my phone.

Well, hard to say which one will have better support. Overall,G3 has better support from community, but i cant say anything about LG support itself. The G2 is unexpected to receive Android 6 for example and it went through 4.2.2 and ended on Android 5.1,and i think its good support, while G Flex 1 started on Android 4.4 just receiver 5.0 with no word about 5.1,not even 6.0,and thats what im afraid of with G Flex 2. But A 6.0 is almost confirmed,so its maybe better now with Flex series

u should buy a Nexus or a high end smartphone with unlocked bootloader
so you should get the newest version of Android from Google or CM
if you search a smartphone from a OEM u should pick HTC (90 days update delay to Google) or Moto
other OEMs have a bigger delay with new updates.

I was thinking about buying a moto x pure or nexus 5x but they dont sell it here in Turkey. And i don't have that much money to buy one of the lastest flagships. So with a budget about 400$ at most (here in Turkey latest phones are at about 600$ right now) i have options like lg g3, g flex 2, htc m8 and sony xperia m5 (won't buy a samsung phone anytime soon) and the first two are the best among these in my opinion. So what would you recommend from these ones?
Truth is , nobody can answer this question , we can only hope it will. But I don't mind 6.0 really , ux 4.0 is what I am after

Looking into this phone

Hello, I'm thinking about getting this phone wanted to get some peoples opinions on it. I've had an LG g pro for about 3 years now and its been good to me though I finally cracked my screen so I'm looking into a new phone. If I got this it may be the international version. Any pros and cons about this phone? Thanks for the info.

Have you changed your device?

Hi!
I just sold my Moto G 2015, It was getting hectic and I needed a huge update. It was a great phone though.
I just want to ask
"Have you sold your Moto G 2015"
And
"What device replaced your Moto G 2015"
Or if you are planning to replace it
"What phone do you plan to replace your Moto G 2015"
Everyone is welcome to answer

I moved mine to "backup" status several months ago, and move to a Moto X Pure Edition... It's a good phone but I wish I had gone Axon 7 (or now the Mini).
I will not own another Moto device.
hi,
i am very much liking my MotoG2015 as its doing fine despite of facing so many RAINS
if at all, i want to change my phone.. i would never buy a phone without IPXX ratings , i want a phone which can be used even in rain
if Moto has launched any G4 series with it, i would have bought them.. but sadly they lost me this year
... so expecting that they do for g5 , else i should have to look at other brands ,
finally, i would choose IPXX rated phones, not others even though if they perform excellent
I am still happy with my rooted stock G3. Although IPXX phones are becoming more common. some of my other favorite features are hard to come by such as FM radio and a 5" screen. It seems most new phones are becoming increasing large.

yup :highfive:
thats why, i like sony's Style of launching 5 inch phones
but Other than the phone , everything feels crap to me
if at-least, Sony launches same phone with small processor at budget price range .. many people would buy it like we bought MotoG3

I will kind of retract that, although I still feel betrayed by Moto, there isn't a better device in the G's price range.

LG G6 vd A8 2018

\Hey Guys, because i cant make a choice, i realy need youre advice. I have a LG G6 Oreo right now and i want to go back to a samsung. The LG is a great device. I can trade my 1 jear old LG for a new A8 2018. The lg was one year ago 670euro but now on the same price level as the A8 2018. So is this a huge downgrade for me or is it a good deal. Please help me with this choice.
And why is there just 1 custom rom for the A8 jet?
Please help me with this difficult choice.
Stay on lg g6 its a flagship mobile and better than the A8 if you want to go from lg g6 to samsung you should choose the s8 or s9

Depends on if you want root on lg g6 getting root on this phone is dangerous I know people that got bricked I personally stay away from lg unless you get the European model.
I personally pass on a8 but went with a8+ I got the 64gb and 6gb ram and love this phone.
S8 is nice but I don't like the curve screen.
You find s8 for same price it up to your preference.

Thanks guys. I stay on G6. And about root.. I have a non europe model ISR. I am not from israel but from holland. Bought the device from someone. So no root problems for me and i am happy with the V20A and looking forward for the comming updates.
And ah... A8+ with 6gb Ram...nice...
Thanks for the feedback
So non europe is not possible for bootloader ublock....
Within the Netherlands we only have the normal A8. (Not the A8+).
I just bought this one recently cause I needed a Dual Sim Phone and I didnt want to spend a lot of money.
So I went for the A8. I'm really happy and Im not missing my S8 at the moment.
Custom Roms will not be that great according to the SoC.
I had a G6 until about a week ago. It was rooted on stock Oreo ROM. Then for some reason it locked up, rebooted itself and never booted again, stuck on boot screen until the battery died. Totally bricked now, won't even charge.
So, bought the A8 the next day and I love it. Great battery life (I get at least two days from it, similar to my dearly departed Mate 10 Pro), lovely screen, and it's plenty fast. I haven't noticed it slower than the G6. The A8 is much more stable than the Mate 10 Pro which was always a bit janky and had a lot of force quits and random reboots.
Just waiting for Oreo to arrive on the A8, then it'll be ideal.
IF you really need to upgrade, then no hesitation in recommending the A8 over the G6. If your G6 is still working OK, then there's not much point.
