No htc apps? - HTC U11 Questions & Answers

Hey all looking to finally replace my (epic) M8. I hate ads in apps and especially hate google play music. Is is true that there is not very many native htc apps? I always preferred the Htc apps to other 3rd party, and if there is no native htc apps have we found a way to install any of them ? music, mail, calendar, etc.
thanks all

You can install viperU rom and enjoy of all the HTC app.

This thread is your friend: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438
Be warned though that some of the apps can have minor issues on the U11.

thanks should make the transition easier lol.

Most of their apps including a music player are on the Playstore and are easy to download. I personally like PowerAMP and other apps so uninstallable vendor apps being on the Playstore instead of preloaded is a good thing. :good:

[CryoRom] What do you want in a rom ?

Hi everyone I'm in the middle of creating a rom but I would really like to know what you want added to the rom or what you want removed
Add:
Airdroid
ROM manager
Superuser
Facebook
Twitter
Whatsapp
GetRIL
Quick Boot
XDA
OnLive
Much tweaks and kernel that supports ext4 etc etc etc.
3Dmax launcher
Remove:
LG Launcher
SNS.apk(aka facebook and twitter from LG)
all other useless crap that LG has.

Usb-otg(but with working 3D and HDMI)
Remove facebook, twitter and all social stuff. Plus remove finance. If you remove the LG launcher, then install atleest a fast one instead. I think go-launcher slows down the phone badly. TSF would be cool Its the smoothest launcher i ever used.
One does not simply send from a XDA-app.
The 3Dmax launcher is smooth and does barely use any ram.

hi richard711,
it will really be difficult to please every one here. someone will want facebook, someone wont want facebook, as an example. however, please keep the ROM to a bare minimum so that each one can download whatever he or she pleases from the market or elsewhere (like gapps, facebook, twitter, LGWorld etc)
tweaks in the 3D cams for pics and videos will be very highly appreciated.
Appreciate the fact that you are trying to make a real "People's ROM."
Best of luck and may your tribe increase!

Performance with no extra softwares that no one uses ever in SU 760 would be heavenly
The best idea is:
REMOVE ALL BLOATWARE FROM LG.
and slim it up as much as possible(like cm)
but still having the 3d features.
Make it AOSP style.

+1
but If its was cyanogen type rom one that has constant working wi-fi
all versions CM7 that came out so far just don't have wi-fi that would stay on even if the screen went off
Guys, please don't ask for USB-OTG.
It's kernel related and unless he states he works on kernels, it won't be implemented in the ROM.
Keep lg social +

I'd agree with the idea to remove all unnecessary apps, so that users may determine for themselves what apps they want to install;
IMO the rom should have Xloud Mod and it'd be great if it could record video without stuttering ;D (impossible as it seems, however acting on XBSA advice I installed a v20g based rom and it seems to have almost no stuttering)
social feed widget for sure
es filer and tasker
ti backup
and if you can remove the ringtone size limiter
Remove everything that can be downloaded from the play store so the user can choose what they want on their device. Remove as much useless LG system stuff that does not benefit the user. Very good ram management. A nice launcher (3D Max). Very smooth, snappy, and stable.
i wnt:
Removed Xloud and Beats Audio ROM. If somebody want it, install via .zip file.
Some new interface, new status bar, new features in setting, etc.
A music player that doesn't skip! Maybe try to integrate cm7 music player and dsp manager.

stock rom with CM7/AOSP framework (status bar etc)
Play music would be better
What really great was, if you can give a Sixaxsis app support.
And the HDMI should be work ^^.

List of apps i can safely remove or freeze.

Hey Community,
I been searching for the past 3 days on this forum. Can someone tell me or direct me to a list of apps that are safe to remove from the HTC One S...
THanks
Pretty much anything you want as long as you don't remove core asps that you need for your phone to function.
For example, I remove the stock browser, live wallpapers and wallpaper picker, picasa uploader, some of the gapps, and any launchers I don't use.
Just don't delete system ui or anything like that lol
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
If I've helped hit the thanks button
Deleting maps app yields most performance , quadrant scores go through the roof
Sent from my One S while ducking the xda police.
If it helps, I've disabled these apps (running stock unrooted by the way):
411 & More (T-mo service)
Access T-mobile
Bonus Apps
Friend Stream
Friend Stream Lock screen
Friend Stream Widget
Game Base
Google Play Movies
Google+
Lookout Security
MobileLife
More for Me
News & Weather
Polaris Office
Slacker Radio
Stock Widget
Stocks
Stocks Lock screen
T-mobile Mall
T-mobile TV
Twitter
Twitter for HTC Sense
Twitter Widget
Watch
Watch Widget
Weather
Weather Widget
Zinio
You can probably safely remove these as well, but disabling them is just as good. The apps don't start, and it doesn't drain my battery like task killers would (services start and restart; disabling in ICS keeps them off)
Does anyone know what the screen shot apk happens to be? I keep on deleting a particular apk which kills the screen shot ability

[Q] Alternatives for stock apps?

Hi
I have been messing around with custom roms for a few weeks now, I am liking the CM12 nightly builds but always find myself going back to the stock roms due to the missing of some of the stock apps...
Would anyone be kind enough to give me some good / close alternatives for apps like:
Camera app
Album app (can't stand stock photos app)
Email app (don't like gmail)
The email app is not really a bit one as I already know of many good alternatives in the play store, as for the camera / album apps I don't know of any good alternatives

for Album and Camera
thr s no apps like these they r special
for example AR effect of Xperia Camera and lots of smooth/nice feature on album
so if u need them just back to stock rom...
:good:
They don't have to be exactly the same, just something that can do the same job, The stock android camera app is just awful
Why don't you try Manual Camera and Cyanogen Gallery?
Both available on Play Store.
Btw, Manual Camera is only for Lollipop.
Those are perfect thanks for the help

Debloat, performance: Which stock apps do you freeze / uninstall?

Recently, thanks to @strongst I learned that I could freeze the System Update app to get rid of notifications (using Titanium Pro).
This made me wonder… Wow, what else could be frozen, or uninstalled?
So what do y'all see as essential things to freeze for system performance?
Here is a list I found on a 6T thread, no idea if it's still applicable.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78474779&postcount=2
ANT HAL Service (Do not remove if you use Fitness trackers, at least that is my understanding)
Basic Daydreams 9 (I don't use this)
BugReportLite
CardPackage
Chrome
com.oem.logkitdservice V1.0
com.oneplus.factorymode.specialtest v1.0
Drive
Duo
Factory Mode V1.01...
GMail
Google Pay
Play Movies / TV
Play Music
Live Wallpaper Picker (I don't use live wallpapers)
Notes (Decide if this is useful to you or not)
NVBackupUI
OnePlus System Service 1.0.0.1...
OnePlus Wallpaper (I don't use OP wallpapers, this may reset your wallpaper, even if you weren't using a OP wallpaper. Just reselect a new wallpaper no big deal. Note this does not remove all the stock wallpapers though)
OnePlus Widget (I don't use OP widgets)
OnePlusLogKit 1.0.0...
Photos
Push 1.2.0.18....

Any way to disable dialer autorotation?

Is there a way to disable dialer autorotation? It's annoying, when I have to use a left hand to hold a phone.
I didn't get it, if the auto rotation is turned off then no application should change orientation.which dialer app are you using Google or OnePlus?
I am using OnePlus dialer thanks to the awesome port by Shavi_Suri and there's no rotation problem on that.

I want to disable autorotation in Google dialer only. I don't use and don't care about Oneplus dialer.
Try those... Any will do that for you...

Yeah, I'm aware there are these apps, but I'd like to know if there's any option to do what I want without additional apps.
No
