Not sure whether it's the issue with Nougat or something else but had I known about this issue beforehand, i wouldn't have bought this phone just for this matter.

awful battery drain, in 7 hrs 25 % in standby, not acceptable in my opinion

Since the last update, 41.2.A.7.65,the battery goes down fast. I can't even get it for half a day.
Does anyone else?

same issue on the battery..unacceptable..

It's late 2020, and I bought a reconditioned Sony XZs as for my use in my primary SIM (for calls).
I have good standby drain here. Probably better than my Mi A2 Lite (drops at 1-2%; sometimes 0% drop).
My unit is a debloated open-lined SOV35, Oreo (with April 2019 patch).

Hi everyone.
Is it normal standby drain for 5 hours 14% AlwaysOnDisplay Off, 20% AOD on?
Android Pie. Pixel XL.

That's not normal. Normal should be around 2% lost.
Since I'm on Pie (beta and stable), the drain, with or without, Wifi On and Mobile On, it's been very high!!!

well, I have to correct my statement. If I turn off wifi and mobile data, standby drain is stellar!!! During the night, I can get no more than 3%
Can't say the high drain that I have if using the phone... something that got a lot worse after a year (when I got the phone)
When my pixel xl is in standby for 3 hours, my battery drains arround 15 -17%, and my phone always shows Charging Connected Device via USB notification like it is charging another device, even when isnt connected to charger.
I'm getting between 1.5% and 2% per hour drain while idle at night doing nothing, since Pie. OS doesn't report any errant apps. Greenify isn't griping.
It almost uses no battery in standby! It's like magic. In one night it may lose 1% if you leave it on.
although i get about 2 and a half hour screen on time, i get virtually no standby drain whatsoever (latest stock pie). went to bed last night at 39%, *10 hour sleep*, woke up at 38%. what i dont seem to get very often is notfications while i am sleeping until i use my phone again in the morning, something to do with adaptive battery or doze?
are you guys leaving the phone connected to a Wifi?
do you guys disable LTE/Data connection while on wifi on Dev Options?

i always have WiFi and LTE enabled. Unless i want to use LTE instead of WiFi, then WiFi gets disabled.
I have a massive drain and phone gets hot lately even on stanby, i don't know what happened, didn't add any new app, still on pie.

very identical 2-3% overnight drain.
7/10. Satisfactory. Drains 5-7% overnight
Bought this a year ago... 8/10. Uses 2-3 % on sleep.
Battery Backup is good.
very great, on official miui it's 2% over 10h
and on unofficial crdroid it's only 1% over 10h
and on official lineage 14.1 with beacon kernel for nougat nearly 0% over 10h
Standby drain by apps so we have to hibernate it. Also check deep sleep. And use powernap+greenify recommended. So all will fine.
I am using resurrection remix V6.1, i am charging my phone during the night but i can say with betterbatterystat that my battery is arround 1-2% per hour in sleep mode. It is a lot when I see on this thread 1-2% per night...
Should I try lineage OS?

Haven't tried RR but on most of the Roms Jasper kernel solved battery draining issue for me. Give it a try

This is where I have concerns I dont know why sometimes I go to work come home still about 75% and sometimes 52%.
The cell phone is not allowed my workplace so use it only my break times. Steaming music from apple music, some facebook, web browsing.

Have you tried running the telephone manager app? and optimized it a lot + clearing old cache and such? I do this a lot and from my work around 10:00AM to 2:00-3:00PM when I'm home it only have dropped like 5% from 100% or some times it even stays 100% when I get home. So then when I start using it then it goes 100% down to 99% so yeah.
So I don't have any drain issue here.

Light use endurance

Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Samsung Galaxy S9+'s battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.

It's looses about 1.4% /h when it's not plugged in. Its slightly better than average. Had phones that lost about 0.5% when not in use.
do you have AoD enabled?
First screenshot: of model no G-9650, snapdragon ,dual sim, available locally .
Second screenshot: of model no G-965F, Exynos ,dual sim, bought off eBay for custom ROM support .
Third screenshot: settings used on both the models and my conclusion.
Hope this helps the forum users
I never did a standby drain test before last night. When I went to bed at 11:30 it was at 100%. I left it unplugged over night, and had 95% this morning at 6:00 when I woke up. So I lost about .77% per hour., which I consider pretty good. I do have it scheduled to turn AoD off overnight so I'm sure that helps.

standby about:
1-1,5 % per hour without ambient display
2,5-3% per hour with ambient display
standby drain is quite bad, LG V30 has half consumption in standby
MIUI 10
High battery drain in backgound too.
I usually lose 10% in 8 hours during night.
Standby drain is high; significantly higher than my other phones. On average, my phone drains about 1.8% per hour with AOD turned off. My Pixel 3 XL drains 0.5 to 0.8% per hour with similar settings and the same SIM card.
If you are running Global rom it could because it's trying to connect to multiple networks. Maybe both European and chineese network.
Download EX Manager and put it on Powersaver Mode. 9h and I just lose 10% of battery while watching BBT 5 episode and played 1 album to get me asleep. Lol
Hi there. 8 hours of sleeping time drained 1%.
I'm using Xiaomi.eu version.
With Global EEA it drained about 4% in 8 hours also
It drains about 1% while asleep 8hrs on airplane mode.
for me it drained up to 2% per hour.
I could reduce it to 0.5% per hour just by turning off bluetooth, maybe that helps you as well
In Global dev ROM my mi 9 was not entering sleep mode at all, it was consumed at least 2% per hour.
I'm now on Xiaomi.eu and it sleeping great.
Sent from my MI 9 using Tapatalk
Global Dev (stock kernel) gives me less than 0.5 % / h battery drain at night. Network and WiFi always running, no airplane mode. Just Bluetooth usually is switched off since I only need it in the car. No snake-oil apps for 'better battery live' or similar battery voodoo.
Cheers
Toscha
For me mit official stable it is a little more than 1% per hour during night, mobile-stand-by as well as android system are draining the most battery.
Waiting for Unlock in 5 days.
Xiaomi.eu doesn't really improve battery life for me. Androidsystem drains about 20% and I have no idea why. I lose about 10 percent at night (sleeping around 6h), so that's pretty much considering the other reports... also I only get like 3-3,5h SOT, because of the drainage. Can't figure out why, though.
Hey there have Battery Drain too. i have the Transparent Edition with Global Rom for me to use in EU with German Language. It is unlocked and has the Mi Recovery. Can i only flash with Mi Tool the Xiaomi.eu rom or will i have to flash custom Recovery?!
I'm on latest ROS, last night ~8 hours standby + airplane mode = 1%
Global stable official, i get 1% drain on 6-7 Hours, signal on so i can be called, wi fi off
MIUI 10.2.9.0, everything is on (wi-fi etc.). Mifit is permanently connected to my BIP, kate mobile is connected to VK. 4% for 8 hours this night.
yeah. the standby drain is not good at all
lost 3% in 5 hours ,with powersaving mode on(scheduled in settings to turn on between 23:00-07:00)
wifi off, bt off, mobile data off...
only WCDMA/LTE enabled
latest global rom
Its because the phone is set to scan for chinese network by default (TD-SCDMA), even though Its a global version.

Really? How to fix that?
Any ideas?
That's NOT true. Switching to LTE/WCDMA give the same battery drain.
That's only the preferred network.
