XT1575 Dual Sim experiment - X Style (Pure) General

Why not? I have a few motherboards on my bench.
Step 1 will be just try 2 Sims.
Then try root stock , and edit file to enable dual SIM
If not working, try aicp rom
.
Should be fun!

It was somewhere - only xt1572 RetAsia has connected both sim. @hometech99

I know.
Well, now the xt1575 in the photo has both SIM connected.
I'll see what is the minimum to get it to work. Maybe it won't at all. But worth a try.

@hometech99

see moto z play enable dual sim post, to see if there is any similar
i got my eu single sim xt1635 work on 2nd sim

Hmm...I'll try.
Editing the build.prop file puts the dual SIM menus into the OS. But it doesn't see the second SIM... says its not there.
I'm guessing that is due to the radio.
I tried installing truepure rom ( after full wipes) and selecting the Latin America DS version during the installation process. So I'm assuming it put in the LA ds radio files in ( or did it not?). But same situation where second SIM isn't seen.
I tried aicp and ril...just sits in boot animation, just like xt1572 ds owners have happened.
Question for the hardware gurus...Are the radio chips on the 1575 different than whats on dual SIM variants? Or is it literally just a firmware that makes the radio chip sets enable dual SIM and the frequencies that are covered?

[DEV] - A call for all devs: help to add dual SIM support on ROMs

I know that the Moto G is a recent phone, and because of this, we don't have much devs working on ROMs or something. But I follow all topics on the Android Development section and I observed one thing: almost nothing released yet (like alternative ROMs or the US update to Kit Kat) is compatible with the dual SIM variant of the phone.
I know that this variation won't be sold in a lot of markets, but here in Brazil, we almost encounter only the dual SIM version on the local and online stores. 'Cause here, dual SIM phones are really popular and necessary (let's say that our network operators isn't that good).
So, let's talk about what cares: I'm here to request to you guys to support the dual SIM on your ROMs. I know that is easy to do a request like these... so, I'm here to help and test together with the devs. I think it's important to develop a way to include the Dual SIM support on the future ROMs. So, everyone with a Moto G will be able to install the ROMs, independent of the variant of your phone.
My phone is a brazilian XT1033 16GB Dual Sim, with stock Android 4.3, unlocked bootloader, root and ClockworkMod Recovery running fine.
I installed the Infusion ROM, the Kit Kat repack and the Kit Kat US Stock ROM (yeah, I'm hungry for Kit Kat) and the results are the same: only one SIM are showed on the notification bar and we can't get any signal from the operator. Otherwise, everything works fine: wifi, apps, the general system...
You guys can ask me anything about the phone or give me instructions to extract certain files from system that you need or commands on adb/fastboot to get details of this variant. Remember: I'm here to help. :good:

I believe that for KitKat you'll have to wait for Motorola Brazil to release the update.
OP, can you pull me some things from the stock brazil 4.3 rom?
i need
system/vendor/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so
system/lib/libreference-ril.so

Of course! Attached to my reply.
When I flash the 4.4 factory image, I get the same issue: one SIM showed on the notification bar, without data/signal.

I've also got the very same model as well, initionally I thought like oh ok imma just flash 4.4 US retail with modem files from stock Brazilian firmware but what seem pretty straightforward turned out the total opposite way when it comes to carrier signal. Do those files you requested have anything to do with radio?
I am on "Oi" and it's based on GSM network.

The problem with dual sim is that today Android does not support dual sim! Each Dual sim phone use a propriatary software to use dual sim. Maybe we can"hack" the software in order to make your phone a singlesim, but it will be very difficult to support dualsim phones... For your information, CyanogenMod does not support any dual sim phone...
Sorry...

THAT is more a result of most dual SIM phones being based on MTK SOCs for which no sources are available (similar story for other Chinese SOCs, BTW, but MTK is the worst offender)...
Dual sim support isn't critical, I suppose most of Dualsim owners would be happy with at least one sim working properly.

Considering that the new Motorola is more "open" and friendly for the devs now, maybe we can ask they for release the dual sim specific sources...

No way. If someone buys a dual sim phone, It's supposed to have both working fine.
Like I said, to me is totally indispensable: I have one SIM from a local operator, to make calls (with this SIM, local calls are REALLY cheap) and another, with a unlimited data plan (that I use on university to connect my laptop to the Internet).
I'm just and simply saying it's better have one than no Simcard working at all I don't know about you but I'm looking foreword to get Cyanogenmod and as been said before there's no dualSim sources available and highly doubt there will ever be.
Well I only using 1 Sim right now, but my mom bought me the dual SIM, she didn't even think about that, and I think is the only only she founds.
If at least one works, is definitely better then no one working, like KitKat is right now for me.

Operator Data not working post the Lollipop Update

Hi All,
I have a Moto G first gen, yday night got the update and its done, however post which the operator data is NOT working. Its just WiFi which is working.
What I have done:
Updated to Lollipop - Thru WiFi
Checked - Operator Data Not Working
Solutions which I did, which was recieved from Google Plus community & Moto Care Agent (Live Chat)
1. Cleared Cache
2. Did a soft reset & rebooted With Sim & Without Sim
3. Did a hard reset & rebooted with Sim & Without SIM
I have been trying all methods to get this going, but of no use. Kindly help! I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Kit Kat now!
Thank You
Nitin
Guys anyone here who could help? Appreciate
Are you checked your APN configuration?

I'm afraid I'm not too tech savy to do that kind of fiddling around in the phone, saw some comments & i also hear its risky to do that. Any link which is better detailed & easy to fix? I'm a layman who can do some basic stuff.
Checked the APN settings too
Not Working

Tried all of the above steps, but still data connection can't be made. Exclamation (!) mark is always there over the network signal.

An update:
Spoke to Moto care again as its been now three days since the update. They asked me to visit a local authorized service ctr, which I did. Being there one of the executives at the ctr told me that they would need the pone for about a week as they have to check the mother board! I was surprised as why that, when it was working very well till the update. So he said they would check & also check the s/w to see for issues.
I'm a little not happy about the whole thing & Im yet to give this phone there. So any thoughts? Or do you have any updates?

I don't think it's a good idea to give your phone to be fixed like THAT, I mean it must be a software bug and for that they don't need to check the motherboard(I suppose).
No solution for me also. Went to local moto care center. They told that it's a s/w bug and the best thing to do is to wait for lollipop 5.1 update which is slated to be released on feb 2015. I'm thinking to do just that because i don't see any other way to solve this.
I have a work around. Also had same issue.
I had my sim in slot 2 of Moto G, the mobile data was not working.
When I inserted the sim in slot 1, it worked.

Single SIM Firmware on Dual SIM device

Hi guys,
I' currently thinking about getting the Xperia XZ.
I'd like to take the Dual SIM version because of the bigger storage. However, I don't need the Dual SIM feature and rather have quicker Firmware updates.
Therefore I'd like to know if I can flash the Firmware from a single SIM XZ to the dual SIM XZ?
Will I still have the 64GB of storage?
Thanks in advance

Flashing a single sim firmware on a dual one can throw your Device in a bootloop, although I've never tried it but I think flashing the wrong modem & baseband can definitely screw up your Device.
Thank you for this answer, although I have hoped for something more positive
Okay, I think I'll refrain from buying this phone then. Hmm...
Sorry to dig up an old thread. Did you end up trying this? I'm curious too.
Cheers
This should work. Remember having done this (actually the reverse) some years ago flashing the Xperia M Dual FW to the single SIM variant because -interestingly- the Android version of the Dual-SIM was higher (believe it was 4.2 vs. 4.1 or something). Anyhow, if it doesn't work, well, just flash the correct one and you're up and running again.
It may work if after flashing the single sim firmware, you use flashtool to flash only modem and baseband from a dual sim firmware.
Has anyone figured out how to do this yet? Is it safe? I want to flash a Single-Sim variant on to my Dual-Sim XZ as well, but I can't find any guide/tutorial on how to do it and also how to get the correct modem and baseband files.
Can anyone assist with a quick guide?

How To Convert My Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930S (SK Telecom) to SM-G930F (Global) ?

Hello everyone! This is my first post here.... Actually I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930S) for 2 months now, I recently discovered that my phone supports Dual SIM Cards as I saw 2 SIM Card slots in the SIM Card Tray... However there's only one IMEI in the device options (settings) and if a SIM card is inserted into the 2nd slot, nothing actually happens and the SIM card doesn't even get detected... So I wanted to change it's carrier from SK Telecom (SM-G930S) to Global (SM-G930F). Will this fix my issue? If yes, kindly let me know the whole process because this is the first time I'm doing this firmware installation thing And if I'm going in the wrong direction, kindly guide me. Thanks in advance to all the developers and experts out there
Changing the carrier won't assign an IMEI number to the second SIM slot.
It is actually possible to convert a single SIM exynos S7 to dual SIM, though it is dependent on what security revision your current firmware is. I did it successfully recently, but I had a logic board that had only been updated to S3 security, which is exactly the right kind for these instructions. With a later security update, you would need to find a matching combination file, and it may not necessarily work the same way.
The phone also won't boot properly with stock firmware after doing this, unless you root it. At least that's what I found. It will work with non-rooted custom firmware though.
instructions in this thread:

I should add, I wouldn't even attempt this if you've not had some experience of rooting, modifying, flashing custom ROMs etc.
Your first time figuring out how to install TWRP and flashing a custom ROM is easy in comparison to this.
