Fastest/most lightweight rom for g3 1gb ram - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a 1gb ram version and im looking for just a fast and lightweight, 100% stable rom for the phone.
Visuals, features etc isnt really important to me but i want gps and all the phones original features to work, im looking for something smooth and snappy, good batterylife is always welcome too.
Any suggestions on what roms i should be trying?
Thanks in advance

You should stay on Moto's stock ROM.
There's no 100% stable ROM. Bugs are present. So it's just a matter of finding out if you can live with those bugs.
From what you have described, (fast, lightweight, 100% stable rom, good battery life and features not important) I'd really suggest to stay on stock Moto ROM.
If you really want to install a ROM (not 100% stable), then give AOSP extended or AOSP CAF a shot. You might like those.

Yeah.......as @adityak1303 pointed out,the aosp caf by Ahmed Hady and AOSP Extended by Shubham Singh is the best nougat rom available now......first one is caf based and the 2nd is jdc

No worry, there is rom call Oreo Go, yes it's old but good in stability and for battery use BatteryGuru ( adb or wireless)
Ram use 21 mb and cpu use minus -

[Q] Best ROM in terms of gaming?

So i recently got this device, quite happy with it but since i use it more as a media device (heavy gaming like wot blitz and others) i am considering to switch from stock 4.2.2. Any good rom in terms of gaming performance and decent battery life?

On my phone SlimLP 5.0.2 work better than any lollipop rom. Yes, its a very aosp like rom without theme chooser and other fancy stuff, but runs really smooth and stable. Slim is my suggestion.
OH GOD 600MB of ram free, i came. Feels good man smooth as silk even though i didn't test it on games still feels good and the ui simple yet awesome, great!

are roms worth it ??

i recently bought a nvidia shield k1 . i think the performance is pretty good.
what are the benefits of switching over to cm13 ?
are there any performance benefits ?
which is the best rom for this tablet ?
The NVIDIA stock ROM is pretty lightweight and has few issues. Only flash CyanogenMod if you need the extra features (like the theme engine) are willing to tolerate bugs (I had issues with memory leaks).
I tried Bliss and CM. I would have weird issues playing games. Found stock was better for gaming unfortunately. I love ROMs and flashing. I found GtrCraft's ROM here and it works very well. Nothing extra, but it is optimized a bit.

I'm a noob and I'm happy with Nvidia stock ROM. Besides, the Mediaserver bug that I recently encountered. Though, that's apparently common even with custom ROMs.

stock OS vs Custom OS

Okay so basically what I have found out is it seems that on all custom roms the Android system is using like 1gb of ram just by itsself after about maybe 2 to 3 hours on every rom. And stock only uses like 770 or lower in that time. So based off your guys personal opinions which has better performance. That's all that matters to me.
Performance is great on both but, since stock is well optimized, it gives it the lead
Stock ROM got more inbuilt features then custom ROMs. If you want more UI customization, then custom ROMs are best. Also as much as I realised it's faster too. Moreover custom ROMs camera is nothing compared to stock EMUI.
For now, stock remains the better option if you care about camera and battery

Considering that you have the 1GB RAM model, stock ROM might still be the best. Many custom ROMs are too heavy for just one GB of RAM. If you definitely want a custom ROM, you could try PureNexus. Looks quite slim and fast.

Lineage os 14.1 works amazing on 1 gb version. It's very stable and actually mine after tests got a little bit better score in antutu than the stock one. Facebook and messenger work very smooth and pleasant. Definitely I'd recommend lineage.

Discussion about performance in the G4 Plus

Hello, today I wanted to share with you the method I used to squeeze some performance and battery life out of the G4 Plus. It was pretty easy actually.
I had an Idea. Since the Resurrected Kernel included in RR N is the most fluid and optimized Kernel I could find for the G4 Plus, and Lineage OS 14.1 is the most lightweight ROM for the device, why not combine those too and get the perfect setup?
So I made a clean install of Lineage OS 14.1 with Mini opengapps, restored the boot.img from my previous RR N backup and selected the smartassv2 kernel governor in Kernel Adiutor that I also used in RR N. The ROM was extremely fast and smooth, so I decided to benchmark it. 50197 in AnTuTu! I still feel like the device can do more, so I think we should all expose our ideas on this thread an make the best setup for the G4 Plus in terms of fluidity, performance and battery life.
@corlatemanuel there are several threads about best rom, which kernel/rom combination and performance comparisons with benchmarks already:

So please share your feedback there, especially in the last thread to compare with all the other setups :good:
