Hello everybody, about 6 hours ago I attempted to flash my first ROM and I believe I am experiencing a bootloop or something similar.
The device (alcatel idol 3 5.5) starts to boot up but never finished booting
the ROM I installed is BlissPop (not exactly sure which version but I believe it is the latest one) but If i remember correctly the build is "unofficial" so I am not exactly surprised I am experiencing this.
Is there a way to fix this, and if so, how? At the moment I only have access to a quite outdated mac machine and I already tried sideloading a different ROM but I get a strange error that my adb's version is too old (it requires something above 1.0 while mine is something above 3.0). I've tried using a few different download locations for it but they all seem to do the same.
I have also done a TWRP backup before flashing but I have no idea how to recover it since I cannot "boot"/flash the TWRP recovery program without adb
Any help or idea how to solve this would be greatly appreciated

Hi guys, I have a problem with a one plus one that can't exit from bootloop.
I just tried to flash a stock firmware (11S) and the one plus restoretool but with no success. I can only acced recovery and fastboot. The device is also unlocked. Can it be a hardware problem? Thank u for your help.

You don't give much detail as to what happened or what you were doing prior to your bootlooping. I suffered from a bootloop that took me several months to finally resolve on the very device I'm responding to you with. I was able to resolve it by installing the latest Oxygen OS from the OPO forums. I followed the directions exactly, then after booting into Oxygen it turned out that my WiFi and Bluetooth were refusing to turn on. After several attempts and force close reboots I was able to get them to function. Then I reinstalled TWRP, then flashed CMOS12, then finally CM which I'm using now. BTW for more detail look for my post about it in this forum. Hope this helps.

Do you have a backup? try restoring just the system and the data of your backup.. i used to flash the boot too but as far as i know flashing boot doesn't solve the issue (still bootloop-ing). if you are still in bootloop and really have no idea, try consider a full reset of your phone (all except your custom recovery, ofc) and flash a new flashable.zip rom.. (data+media also wiped) you can always copy files to your phone while in recovery by mounting a usb drive, in case you don't have a zip on your phone. of course, this is not the solution, and is not recommended, but take this as your last choice if any other method didn't work
hope it helps!

I dont have a backup, so i also tried yet everything you said. I dont have to save datas, so i flashed everything new, but still dont work. I also tried to flash everything from oneplusrecoverytool that in any difficult situations helped me, but in this case it did not worked. Is there any radical solution to get this Phone working? (i can install twrp and reach fastboot, but after installing something, it's always in bootloop. ?
i have the same problem , don't know what to do , i even used the tool to return to stock
maybe an overheat problem? i don't know
Gentlemen, please try the method I suggested above in my response. Go to the OPO forums and follow the procedure to switch to Oxygen OS exactly as they lay out. As long as you're unlocked and can get to the bootloader and recovery you aren't hard-bricked and will be able to eventually fix your handsets. I know from personal experience, because as I mentioned this device was hopelessly stuck in a bootloop for months before I was able to get it running again. Do a search for my previous post for instruction and as I said follow the guide to installing Oxygen to the letter. More than likely you've got several corrupt partitions and this method will resolve it. Once you've got your handset successfully running again on Oxygen you can then begin to flash other ROMs with no issues. For some reason the Oxygen OS is more robust in that it will boot up when there are issues with these corrupted partitions when CM based ROMs won't. I believe the title of my previous post was "hopelessly stuck in bootloop (solved)". I hope this helps.

Before stating my problem I have already serched in other xda Posts but all that I was able to do it to identity my problem and know that my Phone is one of a kind
SO
after trying to install a rom on my device and after failing every time getting error 7 with twrp I tried deleting the device id check in the update-script but after doing that the rom still would not install.
After deleting everything on my phone (yes I deleted the system too) I tried installing the stock firmware from the official website but still no luck and in the update-script in th stock rom was too complicated
SO
i tried installing my rom by sideload but whenever I enter that my device would disapper
I have read different posts watched different videos tried different methods but nothing. The phone is old and if this will not work I will probably throw it from the windows but at this point, since I have been trying for almost 2 weeks, is basically a battle between me and my phone wich it seems I can't win
Thanks!!
Hello,
since today I flashed definitly more than 100 times a custom rom to several Smartphones. So I know the procedure und what to note.
But now the Redmi Note 6 Pro makes me crazy since two days.
Waited 15 days to unlock bootloader, then flashed the first TWRP, Error 7, tried another TWRP for the phone from here - passwort error encryption etc. etc. I think I have seen all the possible error-messages.
I tried everything incl. back to stock rom via Xiaomi Mi flash several time an than the same from the beginning, always errors, some new like "zip-file corrupt" "can't map file". Thought about a hardware error already.
Has anybody been in the same situation? What should I try? Is there a workaround where I can check the reason for these problems?
Regards
Robert

Same problem here ? I can't solve ? plz help
Never fear, Google is here!
I had this exact same problem, but this post fixed it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762
I still haven't figured out what caused it in the first place though...
I don't think this programming-issue is the only reason for error 7. I have been trying 5 different roms, always error 7. Is it possible that there comes a wrong model-information from the phone?
Another problem is the passwort for decrypting in TWRP. In some threads is said, this password is the screen protecting password. I tried this - nothing - I changed it - nothing, allways wrong password.
This phone makes me crazy.... All the things working allways and xtimes without any problems - here not.
Same Problem
Had the same problem turned out that you need to flash pie firmware first befor flashing any pie-roms.

This was the solution

Thank you very much. Sorry for the delay....
I got problem by my Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro (4/64GB). Problem with wifi and TWRP.
I saw on other pages, that On Android Pie, there can be problem with TWRP, but I am unsure if this is the same... Cause I am experiencing two problems, both of them are seriou from my point of view and using this phone.
Wifi doesn't want to start. Actually it was working for some time, about 1 or 2 hours. But after all updates has been done and it doesn't want to start. (it disconnect me automatically). When I want to turn it on it is impossible. I tried to install different version of MIUI, but it didn't help. Before I had installed MIUI Polska 10 and now I got Xiaomi.eu official ROM. Still the same problem. Now I have installed version MIUI global 10.3.3 stable version (PEKMIXM)
Besides I am unable to to anything in TWRP. It was working during instalation, but now I cannot SWIPE I tried different version of it, but none of it works
Don't know, how to solve this problem.
I got installed TWRP in version of TWRP 3.2.3.0, but I have installed almost of version, which I found at different pages, and at all there was the same problem... At bottom TWRP screen I got below some kind of hashes of something. I can see whole screen, but at the bottom I got 1,5cm stripe with different lines.
I don't know, if those 2 problems are connected somehow, but as I wrote above, I tried different versions of TWRP and MIUI and I am still experiencing the smae problems...
Any advice? Or maybe do you want some more output from my phone?
Hi all,
Installing a custom rom on an XZ Premium; it's my first time dealing with this so its possible I missed something. I successfully installed TWRP and adb sideloaded the most recent Cherish OS rom. I was able to set up the phone with no issue, but upon rebooting for the first time back into system, it hits the boot logo, which animates correctly, but then hangs there indefinitely. I have wiped system memory, reformatted, and reinstalled, and the issue persists. I have also tried other ROMs. Arrow had the same issue, as did the Pixel experience, which leads me to believe that it's not an issue with the rom, but something with how I have configured the set-up.
I looked around for solution, but wasn't able to find much on the specific issue of only having issues on second boot, rather than initial. Any help would be appreciated.
I think your TWRP version is the Problem... (I think there were a lot of complaints about 3.3.?.? and higher) I had a similar Problem; TWRP wanted to use /data and if i formated the device, it would endless bootloop (I think because of the encryption the OS uses by default) So i decided to flash a older version (were this wasn't a problem) and I picked twrp-3.2.2-0-maple.img (maple because i have single SIM variant) and I didn't even needed to format the device and it still works (after i flashed Magisk and some other stuff/ "enhancements", that don't impact he OS) and everything still works smootly.
Maybe you should just flash a older version of TWRP (like 3.2.2-0) But i can't guarrantee, that it'll work on Pie(since i don't have it).
