I don't use a pin, pattern, or fingerprint on my Pixel, but it would be nice to be able to use the fingerprint scanner to wake my phone.
Is anyone aware of an app/mod/ROM that allows the fingerprint scanner to wake the screen (not unlock) when Screen lock is set to Slide (fingerprint scanner is not used for security)?

I recently come across Smart Lock feature in Lollipop.
I own YU-YUPhoria phone and setup smart lock feature with face recognition enable.
After the screen is locked. When I try to unlock my phone it comes up with pattern to unlock and there is no option for face recognition.
I want to open my phone with face recognition but only pattern is coming.

Face detection never works.. Have tried on other yuphoria devices too.. Same issue..
Face Unlock WILL ONLY WORK WHEN THERE IS ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE THE REFLECTION OF YOUR FACE IN THE SCREEN WHEN IT IS IN LOCKSCREEN POSITION...
On the lockscreen if your screen can see the reflection of your face then it will unlock...
By the way,, i have tried it too and it has been a hit and miss situation

I can open my phone by the fingerprint scanner and open encrypted apps but I can't lock the phone using the fingerprint scanner. Purchased the phone yesterday.
Lock the phone? As in locking the device? I'm sorry AFAIK, the oppo r7 plus does not have that feature. If the unlocking and app encryption are working like it is suppose to, then there is no problem with your phone.
lock it by pressing the power button as normal or you can double tap the home button to lock the device - need to be set in Gestures settings first.
So I'm just realizing this. But my S8+ looks too easy to unlock if all I have to do is swipe the screen. At first I had a pattern and when I swipe my screen I was able to put in the pattern. Then when I use the finger print the screen swipe still came up with the pattern (if I didn't feel like using the fingerprint scan.) But now I'm using the iris scan and the screen swipe instantly unlocks my phone without bringing up the pattern. And I feel as though if someone had my phone they can easily get into my phone. So is there a way to disable the screen swipe? And yes I check I have the pattern on but it doesn't show at all with the iris scanner on and off.
Anyway to stop the phone from going to the home screen everytime I hit the fingerprint scanner? It's a pain while playing games. I have fingerprint gestures turned off already
So for years I have used nova launcher and had a simple swipe up on the home screen to lock my device. I got my S10 the other week and continued to use it. I didn't set up face recognition because I am fairly happy with fingerprint unlock.
With face recognition turned off, a swipe up on the home screen locks the screen (turns it off entirely) as it always did. However I tried turning face unlock on today and it's pretty cool. BUT now when I swipe up to lock, I am left with a lock screen rather than a black screen. worth noting that pressing the lock button does turn the screen off entirely. But I have my lock gesture for a reason! I now have to disable face unlock because I insist on locking with a gesture, and it effectively isn't locking the phone.
This is probably a fairly unique problem but if anyone else has experienced this and/or knows a workaround I'd love to hear from you.
