Can u get the display to turn on either by connecting it to PC or charger? Does the samsung LOGO come up ? If possible try putting another battery in there. Best case, battery died and u need a replacement.

I am not sure why, but I have been in that same situation since months right now. The weird temporary fix that I found out was to keep the Note in the freezer for 30 minutes and then take it out and boot, it will work for 5 mins. I wouldn't recommend it cause it will damage your phone.
Due to this unrecoverable issue I switched to Note5.
It also can be that you might have hard bricked you Note Edge, solutions in below links:
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, I recommend giving your phone to an official Samsung service center or a repair shop if your phone is not rooted / knox not tripped.
Link 1 -> GSM Forum Solution for SM-N915F ( Link )
There was another solution in XDA Forums as well but i couldnt find it, instead found the Note 4 version ( Link for Note 4 ) (check page 2 of the thread for solution)

This happened to me in 2015. Your motherboard is burnt out. Luckily I was still under warranty so I got it fixed for free and my phone has been fine ever since , I am an expert with software when it comes to android and no amount of flashing or modification will fix this issue. You have to get your motherboard replaced. I currently have the s8 + now and use my note edge as a backup . Once it get it replaced, it will be good for a very long time. It's been almost 3 years since I got it fixed and it's been fine ever since but as I said , it's just a backup phone now

Thanks for the info man, I also doubted that it was a hardware problem.
I don't have the warranty so what should I do?? I've tried qpst but it doesn't work it doesn't download firmware. I've tried flashing a bootloader to a microsd but it messes my micro sd card up and formats it into multiple drives that you cannot store things on.

You either have a severe hardware failure or a corrupt bootloader.
Since it's nearly impossible to corrupt bootloaders on our device I'm guessing hardware failure. Take it in for warranty service.
What were you doing with it before it died? Provide details.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology.
I have had two people now that have had completely dead batteries and did not know. Try to charge your battery. See if the emblem comes on while charging. If it does leave it alone for at least 4 hrs then try to enter download.

If you are using a Windows PC to run Odin, make sure that you have installed the correct drivers to connect with your phone. I believe these are proper:
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...ATT_SGH-i997_Infuse4G_USB_Drivers_5_2_0_2.zip
You can also spend $1.99 on eBay for a resistor jig:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=jig+download
I once had something crazy happen after a bad crash with an experimental overclock kernel for the vibrant on my captivate. the screen went black even in download mode. but the phone was infact in download mode just no screen image. it flashed in odin and restored me back to stock.
I know its an off chance but if you happen to have had a similar error and your drivers in windows aren't installed right then it may look like a hardware failure.
if you have insurance get another one. if you haven't voided the warenty send it to Samsung. if you want to help out development donate it to Adam outler. he wants something not restorable by normal means.
My Infuse recently did the very same thing. DEAD ON ARRIVAL! I tried all forms of CPR but she died an untimely death while attempting to flash back to stock. I had done that many times before so it wasn't anything I did wrong. I took it back to the ATT Store and they sent me to the device support center to get a new one. The new one is far more stable ans performs better than my original out of the box model. So just take it back and get another one or call warranty and they will ship you one overnight.

Yeah, you just got a bad model, it happens.
At OP, if you have warranty with AT&T, take it back to the store, and ask for another one. If not, call Samsung, you can ship them your phone and then they'll either fix it, or send you another one.

Depending on what you were doing, you may have hard bricked your phone. A usb jig may work for a soft brick but since your phone has no response whatsoever, chances are its hard bricked. Go to "mobiletechvideos.com" they provide a JTAG service that unbricks hard bricked phones. give it a shot
Why pay for JTAG service when his device is still under warranty? Contact AT&T or Samsung. One of the two will hook you up.

Hi all,
One fine evening last week, I found my SGR switched off. Initially I thought that the battery must have drained out. But after connecting the charger it showed no activity. Windows didn detect it, rather asked for apx driver. Gave it to samsung service center n they told that the motherboard needs replacements. Now they are saying that it is diificult to get hold of, coz the model has been discontinued and that I should wait for sometime.
Has any one faced this kind of situation before?? I was using stock Indian rom witht aradat's Kernel 1.4

I found that apx mode is for nvidia Soc's . This mode is a very low level mode in order to write bootloaders and other stuff. That's ok. But I cant understand how on earth a normal working phone suddenly decides to go into this apx mode ?

Mine reboots once every two to three days. I have a weird feeling it is hardware related, but I can't tell for sure. (I think it reboots on regular physical impact, like placing the phone down on a table but I've been unable to reproduce the problem.) I'm holding off on calling Samsung unless the problem intensifies.

Mail the Samsung CC in India asking your money back explaining the situation.
How in the world can these guys say components are not available for a recently launched phone ?
It must be work of some employee of Samsung that its taking time for them to get you a motherboard replacement. But do mail them, you'll get their email from Samsung India's website.
Please keep us updated on the proceedings on this thread, it will help other owners if they face a similar issue.
Update :
Samsung service centre ppl called me today and told me to submit all the accessories that came in the box, the proof of purchase and everythin including my bank details. They told me that samsung will refund my full ammount. When I talkd to them about a new phone, they let me talk to a senior guy at some head CC. He cooly told me " Sir, I am sorry for the inconvenience but you should know that since the production of this model has stopped, there are no spare motherboards, moreover you are getting the full ammount"
My opinion :- If the production has indeed stopped, then there is no future for this device. sell it if you can
Dude its not like that, it could be a regional availability issue and not country wide.
But its a loss for you man !
YEah sorry about your loss, but....selling a damm good phone for max half of the purchase price doesn't seem sensible CM7 and stock ICS is on the way. I really don't need much more

Hi all,
Sadly, I faced the exact same problem today. My phone was working fine, then suddenly it shut off and failed to start again. I have also been suffering through reboot issues but few and far between. Its totally unexpected how a phone can just go dead without doing anything. I was aghast at this! I have given it to Samsung Service. Reading this thread even I am not optimistic that they'll be able to repair it. I just hope they dont pester me into accepting an Omnia W or Galaxy S because in no circumstance I am going to accept it. Zerocool, buddy you are lucky to get an entire refund. I cant believe how they can launch such products in the market. I'll have to think twice before buying a Samsung again.
BTW: Zerocool, buddy how much time did they take to process the refund and through what mode i.e. did they offer a voucher or Cash?
HI Guys,
So I just tried to flash the Supercharged v7 rom from the ICS leak and now my phone wont turn on. When I have the battery in it heats up a lot, so I think it's trying to turn on.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Thanks
Little more info please.
Were you on the ICS leak before you tried to flash it? Or GB?
Also any LED lights on?
Have you tried a different battery? Will it boot into fastboot? Hold both voume buttons down while it's off and then press and hold the power button.
And for future reference you should have posted this on SC7's thread as it involves the ROM. Keeps the forum a little tidier.

Ok, sounds like a hardbrick, however, the only thing I would try is to get your hands on another battery and see if it boots that way. Possibly borrow one from an AT&T store?
If it doesn't boot with a new battery it's probably an expensive paperweight now.
How did you flash it? With our new recovery? You didn't use the bootstrapper APK did you?

I used the new recovery. I will bring it to an AT&T store and try a new battery.
You sure you used boot menu? AND did you try to "flash" it? Or did you do a system restore....
Also did the phone die in the middle of the flash? Or would it not reboot?
also just hard bricked.......

Yeah this is the same brick many of us got. the battery will get hot, don't know why, but take it out or it is toast along with the phone, many people had that so you may need a new one. your best bet to fix is to buy a cheap broken phone on ebay with a working main board, so basically you are buying a main board but cheaper because people don't realize the phone i worth anything when the screen is shattered and the camera is shot. then you can pop the new board in your old phone and you are good to go.

Same here!!!
I haven't tried the jig, but all the other symptoms such as dead screen, functionless buttons and all are there, so I think it is Hard Bricked. It's really weird what happened, I rooted my S3, it was working perfectly, then I unlocked the bootloader, it was perfectly fine even after that, then using ROM Manager I installed clockwork recovery mod, it was was working great. Then, I deleted my android market using ES File Explorer, and the guide for replacing the market told me to look for Vending.apk and then delete it, I looked but couldn't find it, so I 100% remember I tapped the search button in ES File Explorer and searched for Vending.apk, then suddenly a window popped up with names of files flashing but it didn't say searching or anything just three dots (...) and under there were two options YES and NO. I pressed No, it closed and then popped up again so this time I pressed Yes. then the names of files kept flashing and then it finished but didn't give me any search result, But my Phone memory was showing Empty, only the sd card folder was there and nothing else so I closed the app and opened it again, still the phone memory was empty, I was freaked out, so I restarted the phone and then, it never started :crying: I don't know what happened. Please help?

You don't need to unlock the bootloader of the us cellular S3. That is why everything is labeled "verizon unlock" and stuff.

ahh i missed that detail...yes i agree its dead for sure! jtag or new replacement time.
Since it's only a couple days, take it back into USCC store. You're in your 15 day Window, they should swap it for a new one. Act dumb, don't tell them you rooted it. Just say you heard it buzz and it died. They'll mark it down as defective and give you a new one
How the hell was I supposed to know that? The US Cellular S3 is completely identical to the Verizon one, the only difference is the carrier logo, I rooted it with the Verizon S3's guide everything went perfectly fine, so I continued to do all the other stuff. Hi everyone,
I think my fiance might have hard-bricked his (new! Less than 24 hrs old!) Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III. He researched, rooted, set up bit-defender and it was working fine but when he tried to copy music files onto the micro-SD, they appeared to have gone onto the hard-drive instead and made his phone uber sluggish. We had some friends over, so he dropped the issue for a while and then went back to try to fix it only to make things worse. I know there isn't enough detail there about what *else* he tried to do, but when he came to bed last night he was kicking himself for not researching it enough and mentioned that he tried taking the batter out, resetting it, taking the sim card out, resetting it, telling bit defending to wipe the phone, etc. but all it would do last night was just display the 'samsung' logo then go to black.
This morning, I found your threads and tried to do the power+down+home advice that I've seen on a few threads here but it didn't work (obviously).
I suggested using the micro-SD adapter to try to explore the files on a PC, so we might look into that later.
Is there anything else you guys would recommend? I'm thinking the only thing to fix it now is the dopey route. :silly:
-Ami
Your phone is Soft Bricked not hard bricked, otherwise it wouldn't even turn on, Use A USB JIG to force it into download mode, then reflash with Odin.

:silly:

If you're such a noob and unprepared for a brick, maybe you shouldn't have ventured down custom ROM/unlock avenue?
Just a thought.

Your phone is Soft Bricked not hard bricked, otherwise it wouldn't even turn on, Use A USB JIG to force it into download mode, then reflash with Odin.

Yeah, this morning it won't even turn on no Samsung, no hope. Lesson learned... hopefully not a very expensive one.. :fingers-crossed:

Pull the battery, put it in and let it charge for a while couple hours. Then hold vol - , home and power. If it week go into download/Odin mode you're fine. If so then go to the development thread stickies and follow droid style guide section 6

Great thought, but let me tell you before my Galaxy S3 I owned a Wildfire S, tinkered with it every bit, OC,Rom,bootloader and everything, before that I owned a Huawei U8150, my first android, I literally went bezerk modding that thing. So, I'm not a noob at this,I was a noob at this different Carrier different software kinda thing, I thought the phone was the same and indeed it is, but the difference is that the Verizon's Bootloader is locked. I'm well familiar with everything, I just messed up by not researching that if the bootloader was unlocked already, mainly because I was a bit too excited about getting my S3.

Since it's only a couple days, take it back into USCC store. You're in your 15 day Window, they should swap it for a new one. Act dumb, don't tell them you rooted it. Just say you heard it buzz and it died. They'll mark it down as defective and give you a new one

Yup!
So, as title says, I think I managed to brick my tab for good, but you never know, so I'm asking for ideas.
Basically while I was rooting it the power of the building went off, and like a dumb monkey I was rooting it with the desktop PC instead of the laptop
Now it doesn't turn on, download mode doesn't work, if I plug it on PC gives a wrong name and fails to find the drivers (that were already installed and working before). I tried removing the battery to make sure it wasn't in some weird stuck/bootloop situation, but it didn't change anything.
Other ideas? I'm willing to try more or less anything at this point
Edit:
If it helps, it is a p3110 (galaxy tab 2 7.0 wifi only)
And the only sign of life I get is by plugging it on the PC it keeps detecting for a second the cpu (OMAP4430)
If you cant get into download mode then it needs a jtag. Sad to hear. Most times it's a user flashing the wrong recovery/rom. Never power loss.
Talk about bad luck... Sadly what you have right now ia called a hard brick. Your gonna need a Jtag to bring your device back to life. You can contact certain people that offer that service for around 40.00$ I wish you goodluck.

I thought it was because the transfer of the PDA was halted midway since the PC was turned off by the power failure. Oh well...

Seems I can't find any that do it for the p3110 here in Italy, I might have to ship it overseas, so I figure it'd be more like 75+$
Is trying to send it back to Samsung worth a try?
Hi,
i have same problem with Galaxy Tab 2 P5100 several month ago. If your device is bricked and can't be turned on in download mode best solution for you is sending it to Samsung. Because Galaxy Tab 2 it is impossible to repair it with JTAG yet. I've visited a lot of masters in my country - all said that it is unbrickable now. Also i've visited official Samsung service and they proposed to replace entire board of my tablet because it they can't repair it programmatically.
I assume you tried booting into recovery?
Any chance ODIN detects it ? Anything at all.....

Tried both, even on other two PCs, but no signs of life. I guess I'll just send it back to Samsung and see what happens

Samsung seems to be quite open to ignoring similar details, I'll just say "it doesn't boot up" and see.
It worked a couple of years back when I sent back a galaxy one with issues reading the external SD that would boot into a custom rom
And a clearly opened monitor that I broke trying to get the panel out to do a DIY projector ;D
