this is the short story:
my device is unlocked rooted and encrypted.
By mistake I performed format system instead of wipe data in recovery.
Now I can access fast boot and recovery but the device wont go beyond the first screen with the white asus logo and nvidia in the down corner.
Please help me.
I tried to flash the blob file from the latest version but It fails:
Failed to process command flash:system error(0x170003)
I tried to push the .29 update file thru ADB with CWM and ran it but it says: device is not found
I also tried to copy the rom file in to external micro sd card but the recovery does not see the card.
Please Please help!!!
Didnt you do a cwm backup before you did all that?
yes, but I cant restore it. I get the massage e:cant mount /sdcard
Hi,
I guess, you can't flash this way, if your dev is encrypted.
anywere I found a howto how to format the encrypted partition.
I look for it, if I found some time.

please help me soon. i tried everything. dont know what to do next
Search for "Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe_Full_EeePad.zip"
I dont't now, if it really works, because before I found this, I have bricked my dev with flashing a 201er image.
But I get no error after use the wipe.zip.
good luck!

now when I try to push the rom zip with adb it says protocol error
Hey man Im sorry I cant help more. I bricked my first TF300 so I know what it feels like. Dont give up, someone can probably get you going again.
Check this topic. TS bricked his encrypted tablet and got it working again.

Hope it helps....
did not help
Not sure about the encryption stuff, but I recently went through the same thing.
I would try to use adb to push a custom rom (i've been having issues flashing stock rom for some reason)
I would also try to do a factory reset <--- this got my working.
I did a full wife (system format)+factory reset. I think that I have a shell.
Is there a way I can copy the rom to external sd card and somehow install from there?
I cant see the external sd card in recovery.
I tried every way to push the rom file -also a custom rom to the tablet-no success.
it gives me a protocol error or read only error. I cant mount the internal sd card.
I also tried to flash the blob of the rom with fastboot- it gives me a flash error.
can someone guide me step by step what to do?
I dont think that the tablet has a hard brick because I can enter recovery and fastboot. also I can flash boot.blob from cm9, I dont know how to flash the whole rom.
Please advice what to do next.
I'm willing to donate money the to person who knows how to save my device
If you could somehow push this to your device, you might be able to copy the stock zip onto your internal storage.
Yes you need to install the ADB drivers so you can push/fast boot on there

i did all this steps. cant push the rom file to the sd card. I think that I need to re-partition the tablet somehow.
Try using "fastboot -i 0x0B05 -w," then try pushing the ROM to your sdcard.

I am brand new to this kind of android tinkering. Yesterday, I successfully rooted my phone and attempted to install Cyanogenmod7. I had an HTC Inspire running Gingerbread. Everything done, tried to boot phone from recovery with all data/caches wiped, phone was ready to boot Cyanogenmod. Waited about half an hour and it was still stuck on the HTC splash screen, so I pulled the battery and went back to recovery and my SD card was wiped, including all HTC Sense and Android data. Can anyone help me restore my phone back to Gingerbread? I tried running some RUU's to no success already
Move a ROM to your SD card from your computer, flash it, and fastboot flash boot boot.img from the ROM zip.

Thanks for the quick reply. So the ZIP file, im gonna have to extract in in my computer and find the boot.img file then flash that? And man, I'm gonna have to get an sd card converter for my laptop then.
Also, would this still work with my SD card? There is literally nothing on there.

Yes, extract the ROM zip on your computer, and fastboot flash it from there to your phone. If your recovery is working you can move the zip file to the phone from there.

Hello, i recently installed the new official lollipop 5.0 android, however it was working like crap so i decided to change with custom firmware.
Heres what i did.
Unlock bootloader
install custom recovery
root with super SU
install custom rom.
It worked, and android started up, however, i cant connect to cellular network anymore, i waited like 10 minute to detect it but it wont, then i tried a different rom, didnt help. Did i bricked my phone? Is there anything to do?
Im with Virgin canada
Thanks
Can you access the bootloader? If yes, then you did not brick it. You probably didn't completely wipe the stock ROM before you flashed the custom one. Also, not a good idea to flash SuperSU before flashing your ROM.
Everything is working has usual, except i cant connect to LTE anymore. I flashed TWRP instead of Clockwork recovery, ill try again with this one...
From where you are now with TWRP installed:
1. In TWRP, go to "Wipe" then go into the advanced wipe options and wipe every partition except the internal storage.
2. Flash ROM.
3. Flash Gapps if needed.

Push the ROM zip file to your phone from within TWRP, don't sideload it. You shouldn't even need to do that though. TWRP now supports MTP so your internal storage should appear when you connect the phone to the PC when you're in TWRP.
So you went from having possible APN issues to completely wiping your device? Slow down before you actually do brick it. Read the stickies. All the info you need is already here.

Well, did you flash a ROM or factory image? Earlier you said there was no ROM installed.
And about that TWRP issue...not too sure. That could be the recovery_from_boot.p file restoring the stock recovery. Are you seeing an android with a red exclamation point?

There was none earlier untill i managed to push a rom in the memory card, but now the Rom just wont start, its stuck in the boot screen so i will try a different ROM.
Nope no red exclamation point, when i choose recovery mode, the Google boot screen appear, then the Teamwin logo appear for a few second, then screen goes black and then google logo is back, and finnaly android boot up...
Ah well i think i fixed the recovery, i used an older version and now its starting properly.

Which ROM is this? And since you've already wiped the SD card once and the ROM won't boot, why not just flash the factory image so you'll have a clean slate to start with?
Factory image = Official firmware?
Oh no! The curse of the NEWB. So after some amazing help, I managed to root my phone and install TWRP. YAY! Then what did I do, I wiped my OS by mistake. NOW I just have TWRP. I am not sure if can fix this. Can I?
Did you take a backup using TWRP first? If not you'll need to find a ROM to load via TWRP.
Are you sure that deleted OS or is your phone just booting always in TWRP?

You need to flash a andorid on it,
first you need to understand how it works....u have a recovery as a base, so you can reach the components you want....
then you have the OS f.e. Android, this is missing on your phone.
All we need is a zip flashable ROM.
So on TWRP we can't use the dload method, so we need a OS in .zip format to flash it with TWRP.
Link above go in TWRP flash zip choose zip from ext. SD card
btw i have the same problem...
thought a wipe would be good...

Do NOT do this. If you do this it will remove any chance of recovering, BUT if you know how to replace TWRP with the Stock Revovery, then skip this, because you obviously know what you are doing. All you need to do it download any ROM.zip made for your phone, onto a computer. Then move that ROM.zip to a micro SD (TF) card and insert that into your phone. boot into recovery and flash that ROM.ZIP. If you are having trouble still, charge your phone completely while off, then do a complete wipe and flash the ROM.zip again. Iif that doesn't work, wipe (factory reset, not system wipe) then your phone should boot properly.
Hey be thanks full !
you can install a custom Rom (cyanogenmod or etc) and boot your phone and then go to setting and enable USB debugging and reboot your phone to boot loader by ADB and install stock recovery and then try to install OTA updates.
if you found any Method for deleted OS and how to reinstall OS with stock recovery about P8 lite e-mail me !!
sorry for bad english.!

HI All,
Post this week, i tried to flash the lineage 15.1 in my One plus one using TWRP. Actually, I want this to be clean flash, so i wiped cache, system & Data except Internal storage. When I flashed the ROM, I got ERROR 7 and eventually it was failed. So i tried to reboot my mobile and in reboot screen I saw this message "NO OS IS INSTALLED ARE YOU SURE TO REBOOT"? and when i rebooted my device, its showing ONE PLUS logo and Android logo. Also, whenever i tried to connect my device to laptop, its not getting detected and it showing message" as malfunctioned. Above all, to the height of stupidity, I didnt take a backup before I flash this rom.
Please someone help me to resolve this issue.
TWRP version?
can you connect your phone to a desktop/laptop?
if possible , then just download the rom of your choice, copy it into your phone's internal storage. and flash it.

TWRP version is 3.0.2-0. And my device is not getting detected when i connect it to laptop. And OTG is not detected in TWRP.
you will need TWRp 3.2.1-0
no roms in your internal storage?
guess you will need to find a desktop/laptop which will recognise your OPO.

Try booting in your recovery. Normally your PC can detect the device as USB storage. Than copy the actual recovery (I think it's version 3.2.1) and the zip file of your rom to the device.
Then install the new recovery from within the recovery.
Reboot in to the new recovery. Install your rom and reboot.
Sorry for not giving links to the latest recovery. But in not at home. Hope I could help.

lucky you.
take this as a lesson learnt.
always keep some roms/gaaps in your internal storage so that you can flash from twrp in case a similar incident happens in future. or make sure you have an OTG cable+USB thumbdrive which you can use if a PC is not available.
Use the official TWRP 3.2.1-0 and update when available.
