bought my phone in uk but am now living in usa. i need to get a charger to have it working again, but no phone shops ive taken it to has ever seen this phone before, and certainly doesnt have a charger for it. ill need to buy the charger but also have a usa plug on end of adaptor. any advice? thanks
Check the data on the adapter body - most are rated 110-240 volts, you may only need to source a UK>USA plug whotsit
Has anyone recently purchased a car charger for their HTC Desire that is capable of keeping the phone charged while GPS navigation software is in use? I'm looking for one which is available through ebay or an online UK retailer.
Thanks
I bought a 5V 2A cigarette lighter to usb adaptor from Maplins, it kept my phone charged on a 3 hour drive using navigation with satellite imagery. I don't know if the data lines are tied, I'm gonna check soon because if the phone detects that the data lines are tied it pulls more current from the charger.
I can't find it on their site though, I got it from my local store.

I've seen some potentially good chargers on the Maplin site but unfortunately they do not deliver to Malta. Do you know of any other UK-based retailers that carry Maplin products?

Ah, no I don't know of any other places that stock Maplin products.
If you do a google search for "5V 2A usb car charger" it pulls up quite a few. I would post links but alas, new user.

My google search didn't return any UK sites so I ordered one off ebay from Hong Kong with a retractable USB cable. Will see how it goes. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I'm finally going to order my nexus 6P. Since I'm living in an EU country, I'm looking for a compatible Eu Plug charger.
I've found a One plus 2 charger on eBay, has someone had any experience charging his 6P with those?
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222050112759
Thanks!
Its only 2A.
I have already ordered an honor 8 from US amazon, with a charger that has a US plug.
South Africa uses 220/230 volts AC 50HZ, 5 amp 2 prong with round pins.
I did some research and almost all modern chargers seem compatible with 220/230 volts. However I would just like to confirm that it will work with just a physical form adapter.
Also in the Q&A it said:
Question:
Brings turbo charger with it? Is it compatible with 220V of south american countries?
Answer:
The phone comes with a 9 V 2 A high voltage quick charger. It also supports 5 V 2 A chargers (for Indian markets). Make sure you buy an official Huawei 9 V 2 A charger; unofficial quick chargers will not work properly. If you need a quick charger, you can buy one from Huawei Vmall or official Huawei experience shops. We do not recommend using a 220 V charge on the phone. (NS)
Is there a reason why the seller is recommending not using a 220V charge? Or is it just to cover their ass?
I've been trying to look for a genuine Huawei usb c quick charger in South Africa to no avail... If anyone can also help me out there, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Looking forward to your responses.
Not sure on the US chargers as I always use UK or European charger which work on 110 / 240 v, so if you had one of these it would not be a problem.
I should imagine the US also acts this way 110/240 volts and all you would need is a mains adapter as you stated.
