Disclaimer: These tweaks we're not made by me. They were made by some great modders, to thanks to: @Asiier, @patalao for this tweak for the 820 and thanks to the original creators as well. @soniCron & @Alcolawl
The tweak is AKT made for the OnePlus 3/3t but I have been testing this on the V20 H910 and have been getting some good results.

Sorry if I didn't give the correct credits I just wanted to share this for those looking to get some extra SOT or performance out if their device.
I am running on NSS 5.5 & Werewolf 2.0. I have mostly been using the AKT battery profiles (all profile info and instructions in the link) which have been increasing my SOT from 4 hours stock to 6 hours. I recommend trying some different profiles to see which you find the best for you.
Thanks for the share. It is working well with the weta kernel.
Nevermind too much wo4m

I find that hawkpepper is just as fast as ghostpepper but has slightly better battery life.
Also the last release of AKT has just been released so give those updates a shot if you feel like it.

Hmm i can see its more agressive/lazy with clockspeeds yes makes sense (clockspeeds are lower when using same tasks compared to other profiles) still im having no difference in smoothness, im not a heavy app user tho

I ran with the script, the flashable and ran the commands through terminal. I love a good command run ?
If you read it through, it's a lot of amazing knowledge. Basically download the app, select a profile. You might have to select it for the OnePlus 3 which has the 820 Snapdragon, same thing Elsa has.
If you do the terminal script way, use the flashable, download termux or your favorite terminal apk, run SU
then;
AKT
Select the OnePlus 3 Snapdragon 820 option and choose a profile.
Following that, profit.
Where ghostpepper is a good performance with decent battery i get about 6 hours SOT
Now project x a n a balanced is another story, it might not be as snappy as ghostpepper (for my use its not so much difference tbh)
But the battery is impressive of this one: i'm getting about 7.5 - 8.5 hours SOT which is insane
I tested this with same settings and same normal usage: facebook, tinder, whatsapp, some calls and sms, surfing, bit camera and played 30 min games
Brightness slider 1/3 rd
I can't figure this thing out
Anyway to start the script at the start instead of waiting the 5 seconds or so to apply?
Related
In case you don't already know, this script is written for CM6 roms, but has been ported to many others. The main purpose is to increase battery life and performance of the phone it's running on.
To install, simply download the file in the link below, copy it to your SD card, reboot into recovery and flash it.
As always, the latest version still can get around 24+ hours of battery life with normal usage under CM6 on a HTC Hero.
I only test this tweak on the Hero CDMA, but it's possible that it works on other phones. I really do expect that this will be the last version of V3 and will become "final" one we've verified that it works on all phones.
New features:
Allows disk scheduler changes for even faster disk access.
CFS Tweak (disabled by default) modified to play nicer with GPS.
Collin_ph Battery Tweak v3 RC2: http://www.primoweb.com/froyo/collin_ph_battery_tweak_v3_rc2.zip
Documentation: http://www.primoweb.com/froyo/battery_tweak_v3.html
Please check the doc page often as I've not yet updated the battery tweak from other versions yet.
Please note, if you're new, there is a lot of features that aren't covered here, such as the ability to configure nearly every tweak within battery tweak, so PLEASE check out the docs. If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks!
Thanks to:
Decad3nce for porting rc1 to the eris, and for working with me to develop this release.
Tomatosoup for helping work on the next release which will be called tweaktool.
There's not much there now, but keep your eyes peeled on tweaktool.com -- once that tool is available, it should work on many more phones and be available on the market.
NOTE: Several users have let me know that they are getting marked improved performance by changing the scheduler from "ondemand" to "interactive" through the custom settings. The "ondemand" scheduler is the default in RC2, but will most likely be replaced with the "interactive" scheduler in the final release. You may consider choosing a custom option at this point and changing the scheduler to "interactive". I'd appreciate any input you may have on this subject.

Thanks so much! I'll give this a shot on ZenEXP tonight and let you know how my battery does tomorrow.
So in this update do I still have to run batt-cfg to get everything set up? Also, can I check if it's working the same way? (pidoff bat.sh?)
You don't have to run batt-cfg, it should run as is unless you want to tweak the settings. and the command to check if it is working is pidof batt.sh
Love the battery life I get with you battery tweak. Just installed the rc2, thanks for the awesome work.

Make sure you delete set CPU if you're using this tweak. They don't work well together.
After going over the script code, I noticed that the governor is set to "ondemand". Does that provide better battery life than "interactive"? Also, what is the purpose of the disk tweaks? When they were enabled, my battery life was horrible. Perhaps because I use Darktremor's A2SD?

IMO, it really depends on your use.
If you use very intensive applications, you'd want your processor to jump to max right away(ondemand). But lets say that you just unlock your screen to send a quick text, interactive would be a lot better.
Interactive, overall, will always have better battery life. The problem is that it sometimes 'sticks' to the min freq before ramping, making garbage collection crap out something fierce.

I see. I can't say I've noticed the slow ramp-up with "interactive" before, but the note about garbage collection makes sense. But going back to my earlier question, I noticed that the disk tweaks simply amounted to mounting certain directories to new locations. Still unclear on how these increase performance/battery life.
As an aside, the dalvik VM heap parameter is equivalent to the JVM heap, correct?
I am not the developer of this app. I am not a developer either, I am just an experienced user and just found an application that maight be usefull for our X10's.
Sysctl Config, It can be downloaded from the market.
With the appropiate settings, this app can improve performance and battery life. What it does is that it modifies certain kernel parameters related to virtual memory management.
This appication is only intended for advanced users and there is very little documentation on which are the best settings. I personally noticed a performance boost and now the phone is a lot more responsive, the scrolling is smother and it boots up a lot faster.
You should also notice a boost in 3d performance, specially runing high end games, such as asphalt 5 and avatar.
Probably the settings I used improved performance at battery life cost, but I will need to wait until tomorrow to tell since my battery is almost drained right now anyway and I just plugged it in. I also noticed an increase of my quadrant benchmark from around 1300 to over 1500.
After testing for about 3 months, these are the settings I found work best for me:
min free kbytes: 32568
dirty ratio: 5
dirty background ratio: 3
vfs cache pressure: 0
Oom allocating task: Enabled
For some, setting vfs cache pressure to 0 is risky. I can confirm that this setting was causing ramdom reboots on heavy usage, however, I enabled compache using spare parts app posted in this link and the issue went away:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12310102
BTW I am using CM 6.1.1 ROM.
Well, I think such detailed settings is kind of overkill for devices like phones. I'm not sure you could gain much performance, but it worst a try
BTW http://www.linuxinsight.com/proc_sys_vm_hierarchy.html here you could have more explained features that this app provides.

This seems really promising. I used the settings posted by the OP and definitely noticed a performance improvement. I too have very little knowledge about the best settings to use for our X10s and would appreciate some insight by someone does I'm tentative to really modify any of the settings out of fear of doing irreversible damage...if that's even possible.
Hopefully as more of us become aware of this application we'll collectively be able to find the optimal settings! Btw, anyone know the default X10 settings for this app??
hm the settings from the op drops the linpack score from 34 to 30mflops.
maybe we should play with these settings.
A thread here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523707
Some more here ---> http://nenolod.net/how-to-improve-user-performance-on-android-phones/
The X10 probably has a BFS kernel which means *some* sysctl commands would NOT execute on our phones.

Try linpack twice in a row. Make sure it loaded the ads before trying. Also try quadrant, make sure u run twice when benchmarking since this will allow the OS to kill some background tasks so the second time should be a little higher.
Im getting linpak 34.96 and quadrant 1565.

Assuming you're rooted, you can use Ghost Commander from the market and use it's inbuilt editor to edit files + save them from within the GUI. Personally, i'd refrain from dabbling with more critical values without full knowledge of what I'm doing.

Personally my battery life has decreased, by how much is hard to say exactly because I've been a little heavier on my phone today than usual. At this point in the day my battery life is expected to be about 10 more hours and right now it's only reading 4--using the juice plotter app.
The phone does seem to be more responsive though and if I can still get through a whole day of moderately heavy use I'm happy.
Again, hopefully other more knowledgeable people here can post optimal settings for our X10s
*UPDATE* Yeah the settings in the OP definitely kill my battery a lot faster. The phone is more responsive for sure, but at the expense of battery performance. I'm running 2.1 Eternity ROM, dual touch, etc etc if that concerns anybody. I think I'll switch back to the default settings and uninstall this app because my battery life is honestly close to half of what it normally would be, I'm surprised no one else has noticed an impact?? :S
Hi guys!
I was looking for ways to increase battery life.
As far as I know you can undervolt and decrese CPU speed
Undervolt does not affect performance but does increase temperature right?
Decrease CPU speed obviously decreases the speed of the phone.
Both these things can be achieved by using a custom kernel right? I heard of franco kernel as being the best for these things...
Any other ways of increasing battery life?
Cheers!

Why not try Franco first before starting to tweak. The kernel's default settings are reputedly optimal for that elusive balance between performance and battery life.

Yeah, give it a try. Since I installed it, the phone (and my N7, too) has become snappier, and battery life on standby is awesome (like 1-2%/hr). SOT, on the other hand, is still lamentable, even at dim levels. If you do go Franco, I recommend getting the FK updater app on the Play Store.

You can set up virtually any configuration with Franco. But, again, I suggest you try his default settings first. He put a lot into figuring it out, and his findings likely are the most reliable. I've never felt the need to customize the kernel any differently.
Some people, however, really like to mess around with the settings as a kind of hobby. I used to do so, and it's a lot of fun (and headaches). So, if you want to get into it, go for it. There are numerous apps you can use to tweak all those settings.

I noticed that by default it has 2 cores working and then uses the other 2 when required... This might sound stupid but did stock already do this?
Try greenify and xposed framework.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify‎
Im running the catalysm rom + franco kernel undervolted (which by the way decreases the temperature) and under clocked to 1728mhz. I also am using greenify + xposed. Finally I turn off location reporting, touch sounds, always scanning wifi and set location to "battery saving" mode. Without any gaming I get around 5hr of screen on time. Straight gaming gives me around 2.5hr of SOT. Usually I get around 4hr from my regular day. Any other tips for battery?
When I first got my moto x pure 2015 my phone was scoring anywhere from 71000 - 72000. That was on stock. I just installed aicp for the 2nd time a couple of nights ago and it scored 78268 on antutu benchmark. That's awesome performance with this phone. I've installed every custom rom for this phone and aicp has gave me the most solid all around good scores along with the performance to match. I love every ROM that has been made for this phone though. I know that chosing aosp/cm based ROMs may make you go without certain features such as moto voice and display but it always makes up for all of that and then some in the long run with a lot better performance and some bad ass tweaks

How??! I have Pure nexus and i scored 79k... Do i have to use an earlier version of pure nexus or what?
used to get around 60k on truepure and frankenkernel. now 72k with CM13. how do you get to 78k ? Can Xposed lower scores ?
Running tru pure ROM frankenkernel scored 118,000 thought it was flawed also but still fun lol

What do you mean by flawed really? And could you upload a screenshot or something?
I just ran on a stock odex build that is in the dev forum and I got was 59839. Is that bad?

I get around 72000 on stock. What are the individual scores (GPU, CPU, UX, etc..)? Also, if the device is really hot, it could be throttling the CPU.

Could be throttling, scores look fairly normal, except CPU is quite low. Is the phone very hot when you are testing?
Overall: 73241

UX: 26110
CPU: 20508
RAM: 5234
It did get warm during it yes.

Holy ****! OC Cpu? But i still don't understand how you got that score? I've tried Truepure but i only get 70-80k. I see the UX score is more than twice as high than it usually is. Did you do something to make that score higher or what?

Try to cool it down for a while by not using it at all and then test it again when it's cool, there will be difference.

It'd be` nice for you to include some features of this kernel in your post...
Governors, Voltage control, KCAL suppourt... things like that. But I'll flash It and see for myself.
Edit: Maybe you undervolted it?
Can we use this for AOSP extended OREO ROM?
Tested for an hour.
No heating issue. Absolutely no heat generated by the phone. Would recommend this to all Oreo users.

I understand. I think some great features would be:
1. Voltage Controls
2. Adreno Idler driver for the GPU (more battery life)
3. Smartmax_eps Governor and dancedance Governor for even more battery life
4. KCAL suppourt for adjusting screen colour
Thanks for taking my suggestions into consideration. Much respect
Pleas add Wireguard VPN. Simple and painless addition. See the Wireguard thread 4 implementation. A couple of extra lines of build code and ur there. I'd appreciate it. TThe fastest VPN and easiest to set up. Thanks....

Add some schedulers too... especially "Zen" scheduler which I personally think gives the best real time performance....
And if you can increase the battery performance and optimisation...

Back when I was using a galaxy s4, the performance gain from using zen was really noticeable. I haven't noticed that much of a difference these days, since this phone here is a relatively modern device. But, let's see what the dev has in store for us in future updates.
Didn't work for me, my phone still heats up quicker than my toaster. Lol
When surfing the browser of the smartphone is heated.
When watching videos too.
Installed the kernel AweSome.
On stock firmware in these tasks, the smartphone cold.

I actually found a non-scientific method of actual measuring the performance gains in schedulers.... What I do is download a game called vainglory from play store which is a fairly big game for Android.... So whenever I open up vainglory after the installation, the game starts to extract files... During this I just measure the time taken by the phone to complete it....I found out that ZEN was noticeably faster than CFQ,BFQ and Noop...the worst was DEADLINE...though Deadline gives a better touch response while gaming and decreases the input lag at the cost of multitasking....
Sorry for the noobness, but I don't have the scheduler or the CPU governor you are using.
