Hello ggow!
Here's my feedback:
I just tested out this Slim 7.1.2 rom on the Fire HDX 7(thor) and it seems pretty stable! The UI is very smooth and the audio sounds really good(even with headphones). I even paired the tablet to another device through Bluetooth, and it works! But file sending through Bluetooth doesn't work. But I didn't get to check with Bluetooth headsets. Gaming graphics and visuals seem really smooth! I tested the camera but it force closed on the stock camera app and Google camera app. When I tested it with Open Camera from Mark Harman, it worked fine. The camera was a bit too dark though{not a big deal though : ) }. Sorry I couldn't test LTE because I have the WiFi version. WiFi seems fast and stable so far. Battery Life is good.
Thanks a lot for your hard work ggow! You're pretty much keeping the Amazon devices alive! Keep it up!
Hope it's status becomes fully stable!
Great! Thanks for sharing
the good ROM
thanks for your work.
Flashed this pup along with GAaps nano and SuperSU w/o incident. ROM performs as expected given Android 7.1 roots; Slim fans will feel right at home. Hardware integration was largely uneventful: rotation (sometimes problematic on Amazon devices), WiFi, bluetooth, camera all worked with occational glitches consistent with most HDX ROMs (eg: some Bluetooth devices not recognized; WiFi not reconnecting after doze/sleep [toggling airplane mode fixes it]; stock camera app connection issues; etc).
Briefly explored kernel configs but didn't immediately detect any meaningful differences from 'stock'. SELinux is set to permissive. Device dozes/sleeps efficiently - a nice change over CM 12.1 that features a parasitic kernel drain (0.3-0.4%/hr) that can not be eliminated.
That said, I will be sticking with LP/MM based ROMs for Xposed support. I would love to see a MM based Slim build for this device as LOS 13.x is unusable on many WiFi only devices (including HDX) due to long standing glitch with faux SIM card detection dating back to CM 13.
Edit: Appears this ROM also suffers from the "Select SIM Card" problem while attempting to use a WiFi enabled messaging app. Same as CM/LOS 13 (but not CM 12.1 or any of the KitKat based custom ROMs).
Thinking about testing this ROM. I have a HDX 8.9 (Apollo) with 4G functionality and a old CM 14.1 version from January 2017 without 4G support.
Is this ROM supporting 4G?

At present only KitKat based ROM support mobile data on this device.
Installed this rom, seems to work properly. Installed:
Gapps Mini
SuperSu
Arise package
No complaints so far. Battery life seems great, wifi is very stable so far. I have an LTE 8.9 model, but i'm not using the LTE functionality at this point so i'm good. For me this is mostly an entertainment device, so I'm good with some basic video apps and a browser. Still adjusting a bit to the nougat experience (tiny bit different then my Samsung S7). I will probably use this rom for a while. If you want me to test something specific, let me know.
Edit 11/08/2017: Still using this rom as daily driver. Still works like a charm. Fast, good battery life, but haven't tested bluetooth yet.
New Build is Up

Thank you very much!

No, to switch from LOS 14.1 to this ROM you need to do a factory reset.

Yes along with SuperSU or Magisk.
Something to report:
1. I disabled the search bar of the drawer, but after reboot, it comes up again.
2. Bluetooth is incomplete. It can be connected by others, but cannot connect to others, including audio devices. But even connected, file transfer doesn't work.

Bluetooth support is problematic because of the old amazon binary blobs we are on. Plus I I haven't got much time to look into it properly at the moment.
Will take a look into the search bar issue.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Very good work! Firmware establish good! I really liked the minimalism! Many settings - will study unsubscribe later!
Big question,
to choose from this ROM or before going back to official Shield ROM, does touchscreen works or has a fix on KODI?

I had the firmware TeamEOS. Wipes are made in TWRP and flashed Dirty Unicorns.
Everything works well!
Touchscreen does not work on kodi, like all other non stock ROMs. Other than that touchscreen works fine. Not aware of any other bugs. Working on getting marshmallow proper. Boots up, but sound is a little unstable and video doesn't work.
Hi.. I have problem with my shield tab
Im from Malaysia and i bought the Shield Tab from local online seller but the sim locked with AT&T.

Haven't pulled in those functions yet.
Flashed DU with no issues, but Banks Dynamic GAPPS will not flash.
Hands down the best rom for this tablet. Runs smooth as butter, great battery life, and none of the audio issues that plagued all the other roms ive tried. This should be the definitive custom rom for the shield tablet.

I havent tried the latest r29 build so I can't comment on it but I gave up on blisspop with r28. I switched to TeamEOS ROM which i liked but development was stopped and then transitioned to Dirty Unicorn.
I fully recommend this ROM. The only issue I have run across is the battery saver option won't allow you to change the color from the default . The color change option doesn't work and apparently the shield cqontroller doesnt work with Kodi. I dont have the shield controller so I can't comment on that either.
I'm using slim zero gapps and not the ones recommended with the rom.
I really hope this ROM takes off.
thanks for the quick reply , going to try this tomorrow

I haven't seen any limitations at the moment other than the Kodi bug with the shield controller not working with the app. As far as user experience goes, it's been hands down the best I've seen for custom roms on this tablet.
I don't think the NVIDIA functions work at all on this rom, which is what is stopping me from giving it a test drive.
Hopefully the nvidia apps will be integrated into a usable state soon.
as for KODI, does it work with the touch screen? or is it just the controller that doesn't work?
I'm having some issues. I did everything as mentioned. I came from a rooted stock L and after installing DU and the Du TBO Gapps, not 64 bit version, I boot to the home screen and nothing pops up without an error. So format and reinstall again but I can't move forward because I can't access the store to do updates that it says it needs because I can't connect to my wifi. Here is the MAIN problem. When I go to settings to connect to wifi my keyboard won't work. "Unfortunately, Android Keyboard (AOSP) has stopped." How do I fix this?

Yes it's safe to use custom kernels. But if you're only a beginner, i recommend using the stock one. Since it has no fancy features and is kept as stable as possible.

I do have Android experience, no problem about that
With exodus-6.0-20160525-NIGHTLY-cancro I did have 2 random shutdowns of the device and I'm trying to find a solution (and fill a bug report).
The display is off as normal and after 1-2 hours I did realize that the phone is off. Strange

Yes, stock apps (GMail, Calendar) and a few from Google Play (Evernote, WhatsApp).
I did tried to install MIUI 6.5.26 (xiaomi.eu_multi_cancro_6.5.26_v7-6.0) on the same phone and it's rock stable (but I really don't like MIUI, I'm an Android Stock fan).
On Exodus I had max. 1 day battery, on MIUI I have 3d 14h and still have 17% left.
Same apps and setup on both ROMs.
Model is Mi 4W (international version, 3G, no LTE).
Let me know if I can provide more info.
Have a nice day,
/Sorin

Thank for answer, but I have question: I'm now on Mokee, previous CM13 and DU. On EVERY roms I have problem with singal. LTE if works (no option in settings) have once full signal, after few seconds almost no lte signal and next seconds full signal again. On 3g is much better but signal also have a little problem. Do you have problem like this in Exodus?

Couldn't. Haven't one. Sorry
Thanks, can't wait to try this out...
I've been testing it out and the biggest issue I've had with all 14.1 builds, the video zoom-in Netflix and similar apps, is resolved. Excellent work.
MHL adapters work on this build, but video-only, the audio is via built-in speakers (which seem much louder on this build).
One thing I'm missing (or can't seem to find) are home buttons settings. I can change the double press/long press behaviour, but I can't get the home button to wake the tablet from sleep.

Installed it last night, works great. Same problem here, home button doesn't wake up my tablet. Btw, I don't see any mail app, is that normal with this rom? For now I've installed the outlook app. Thanks for your time and effort putting in this rom and tablet
GApps doesnt work on this ROM for me.
Installed GApps Micro and Play Store doesnt open.
It says Google Play Service Not installed.

Works fine here, wrong Gapps? open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20170131 is the one I used.

Yep, we don't include a mail app because people generally replace it anyway, and we didn't want to bloat up the ROM

T525 is Qualcomm, not Exynos.
Is anyone able to wake the tablet up by Home hardware key?
Great OS! Fast and great features. Better than Lineage OS! Kudos and thanks to developers!
:good:
This is a fantastic ROM, best one we've had for our tablet. Been playing around with it for about 12 hours, and pretty much everything works, including the camera, which didn't work for me even in the official Lineage 14.1. I am using Nova and it is really smooth, no stuttering or lag at all. All videos seem to load properly, WiFi connects quickly. I saw some people saying the home button didn't wake the tablet, I'll have to check this, as I have a magnet case and it turns on every time I open the case. I just want to thank the developers for keeping our tablets relevant, thanks so much for a fantastic ROM...
---------- Post added at 04:34 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:28 PM ----------
Just checked it out, you are correct the home button doesn't work. I missed this because of my magnet case.
So tested now for some hours and its a great experience! Fastest ROM I did ever had on the n2awifi.
Teated Amazon Prime Video, Mkcrosoft Office Apps, Spotify, MxPlayer, AndStream and some games and everything is working fine and very smooth.
Just some little things I have noticed:
- The home key does not wake up the tablet
- Did not find the settings for the battery icon and where to show the battery percentage next to the icon
- Did not find the settings to change or remove applications when tablet is locked
- Search bar on main screen is "useless"
- No Exchange-Account settings? Maybe due to missing mail app?
HDMI video output is working without sound. In latest CM12.1 we could change the audio output via AudioFX app and it did work. Have done a log with MatLog when connecting to adapter and tried to play a movie from amazon prime. Maybe you could find anything?
Thx for great work!

Thx! Thats it
Another "error" I found is when tablet is powered off and charging there is an screen instead of the "battery picture" but percentage is showing always "??/100"... Looks nice but does not work correctly.
Builds are built weekly now through the Exynos5420 Jenkins Server.
New version is online. See first post for link.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
How to Install:
1- BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP
2 - Unlock bootloader via fastboot
3 - Flash TWRP
4 - Move Rom & Gapps into internal storage
5 - Full Wipes
6- Flash Rom & Gapps (OPTIONAL)

madOS is optimized for MediaTek SoC's...
So ...won't come anytime soon for this tablet hah
In would rather just do builds of LOS/ whatever other ROM.
And perhaps add some stuff, fixing things...
Cheers
It would be cool if we could eventually get our own device page but I dont think there is enough development yet.

Where can I find the download links for this ROM?
NVM - found it.
Looking forward to trying this ROM out.
Do you know if the Amazon Prime Video app works on this ROM? I can't seem to get it to work on the other Lineage OS or Resurection Remix ROMS for this device. The OP couldn't seem to replicate the problem either, but I bought a 2nd one of these tablets with the same problem. (It works fine on the stock ROM, too)
It's fine if you don't have Amazon Prime. If it loads up to the point where you can login, it should be good. It kept closing on me before I got to that point.
I made a post about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/lenovo-tab-tb-x103f-running-lineage-os-t3651611
A logcat file can be found in the last post. Feel free to take a look. I'd appreciate it!
In the meantime, I'll fire up this ROM and see it for myself. Thanks for porting it!
I tested the Amazon Prime app last night. And it doesn't work on AICP, either. I'm at my wit's end on this one. Help, please?
Thanks.

Have you tried Amazon's new app on the play store? I just watched the first episode of The Tick on my tablet with lineage just fine.
Thank you for your reply! Yeah, I did try the play store version as soon as I heard it was there. Same thing. On two tablets, too.
Not sure if I installed the room wrong, but I'm not new to flashing rooms, and other apps work, even stuff like YouTube.
I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out this puzzle! Thanks again.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did search the thread and couldn't seem to find the answer.
Does this ROM support F2FS? If so, which partitions should be formatted as such?
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
Any reviews yet? Is there low volume problem like on Lineage?
Thanks.
Edit:
Trying this rom for a week, and can say its very stable, without any noticeable problems. The overall performance is comparable to stock, maybe a bit faster. Volume level with Dolby Atmos installed is ok. Battery is ok after a few days, 0-1% drop after 24h of inactivity. Wifi speed is around 30mbps for me so no problems here too.
The single disagvantage I found - the rom does not support dt2w like stock.
Thank you, @superdragonpt
Edit2:
Found a bug - when wifi scanning off AND wifi automatic turn off is enabled - wifi not working after sleep.

Aaaaaaaand when I was browsing through le 2 roms thinking about having a look at something I haven't tried before there you appeared! Might as well become a betatester Cheers!
Second Q Rom to be released for the s2 after arrow OS! This rom is much more stable than Arrow Os Q Rom . I'd say Android Q is actually giving a better battery life than Pie but a lot of apps are still broken as they don't support Android Q properly yet. Anyways, great job @nullbytepl . Keep up the good work!
I'd really love if someone could port Evolution X, Havoc, Revenge Os and lineage Q ROMs too!
Anyways I'll link to the arrow Q Rom if anyone is interested :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a2JMg96cQuantQqsM0qPmnoW0UqJPcNt/view
Screenshots??
It's nice to see that Le2 still have devs attention!
But this rom still can't be used, it freezes and reboot too many times.
New Update is up!
Pixel Experience 10 2019/10/19
Changelog:
* Source synced
* Systemui lag should be gone
Downloads are in the first post!
Good initiative, i hope @nullbytepl can work with @Rk585 and both of them can take this forward.

Thank you for this awesome Project.
Yes Lockscreen is broken and i can't unlock IT. I don't use Lockscreen.
Next is magisk Module Gesture. When i flash it and reboot, the Launcher or Something is broken.
But everything is fine, the battery is great.
PS: i can't Control the Hardware Keys in Setup, for Off or on or Hardware key Background light or Something.
Thank you
For some reasons the contacts app keeps on crashing.
I have cleared the davlik cache, contact and phone app cache and user data too.
Any other suggestions to fix the issue?
------------
Fixed
Had to do a factory reset from twrp and reinstall again.

Lockscreen works fine for me..
Call over bluetooth is broken, cannot hear sound on bluetooth headphone or speakers. Mic seems to be working.
Whatsapp voice calls comes over phone speaker even though it shows bluetooth connection. So sound doesnt go to bluetooth headphones over whatsapp too.
Music over bluetooth works. This looks like to be a common problem with many devices using Android 10. @nullbytepl can you look into the issue.
Let me know if you need specific logs.
Rest it's been stable from last 24hrs.

Wow..wow..wow..welcome android 10.. thanx @nullbytepi for make it happen
ok so i installed (not clear flash - update from pixel experience PIE)
so far so good. i was not able to boot into recovery but managed to flash recovery again
- when im in magisk manager sometimes my phone reboots and not load correctly - have to reboot it manually
- im using adaway to block ads - but had to do it manually as it was not able to get system directory writeable
what is my problem:
i was using fingerprints to unlock my device, but after second boot, screen lock was restarting. so i deleted files from
/data/system/gesture.key
/data/system/cm_gesture.key
/data/system/password.key
/data/system/personalbackuppin.key
/data/system/personalpattern.key
/data/system/locksettings.db
/data/system/locksettings.db-shm/data/system/locksettings.db-wal
but still see 2 fingerprints and can not change lock screen seetings as it is asking for pin, which is not working.
please dont tell me to clear flash. thanks
Well, that's because you dirty flashed the ROM. I had the same issue when moving between 2 different Pie ROMs and you moved from Pie to 10.

There is slight difference between huge companies with hundreds of people who write code for life and a small team of enthusiasts who develop in their free time. Custom ROMs don't have proper migration tools. The person above is right, you really shouldn't move between custom roms without clean flashing. Clean flash or stop complaining about stuff being broken.
