HELP! IWO Watch MTK250C Possibly BRICKED newbie and a Mac user - General Questions and Answers

Hey everyone, I'm new to all of this. Like super new, Like I made an account today new.
I have had a IWO Watch MTK250c for some time, i just recently got in to trying to mod some extra faces etc. my first attempt went very well using the Mediatek SmartDevice app and my Macbook with my Android phone, however the second face i added did something messed up as soon as i selected it on my watch to use my watch's screen went black and the backlight on the screen started coming on and off every 2 seconds or so. I am trying to stay positive here but i probably bricked it because that'd be my luck. In reading this forum I found I most likely need to reflash/install the original operating firmware and re-start from scratch. However as I said, I'm really new at this stuff and I only have a Macbook computer, is there any hope of fixing this watch or any advise for a totally new person at fixing this at all?
Thanks all for listening this forum is very helpful and any replies would be great.

Hi, no answer until now? Which IWO model do you own? I bought the latest firmwares for IWO5 and IWO4 from shiningintl.com.
There is a collection of firmware for different MTK2050C models, which you can find here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_hRh3DjuBoeRTRHT3N2NzJvUnM
Good luck in reflashing

[Q] Trying to find my phone and how to root it etc

Hi there guys im completely new to this, as only the other day my father told me about rooting my phone and upgrading the software as only now the software on my phone has started to fail me and I think its time for a change.
On the phone its model number is the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9003 so I'm not entirely sure which phone to choose on the Samsung Android devices on the forums, also I was told there was a noob guide on here on how to root the phone and then being able to upgrade it.
I apologize if I have posted in the wrong area, but any help would be extremely grateful, as my phone keeps switching itself off everything keeps crashing and basically its just acting like a piece of crap.
Thanks again

Never mind ive found it and figured it out now hehe
Next time , do a search on the forums before creating a new thread .

Clock constantly losing sync

Greetings, just a couple weeks ago I got my first smartphone, and this is my first post around here. Hope it's in the right section.
Well, its a LG Optimus E615 (same as E610 with dual sim).
Running Android 4.0.4, kernel 3.0.8-perf, rooted according to this topic. Alright so far.
I wonder if you could help me with an issue I'm having
Problem is since I first started using it, I noticed that the clock always goes out of sync, about 15minutes to as much as 3h a day.
I'm gave up on automatic time and timezone already, since they are no help, so I ruled out operator giving wrong time already.
I searched around, found some topics like these[/ur] and [url=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999614&page=6]these, but they are of no help =/
It's kind of frustrating that even my old Nokia 6110 classic is able to keep track of time, so I can't believe such a high-tech device like this (ok, its not an S3 or S4, but still) that does alot more can't.
Google or LG doesn't seem interested in fixing it as far as I can see (it was already acknowleged by them)
The fact I received the phone as a gift purchased while traveling to another country makes it next to impossible to return or change it, so I'm really looking forward to resolving it on my own.
Would you guys be able to point me to some way?
Thanks in advance
Your gonna be pretty much out of luck. Most dual sim phones out of china are clones using different hardware then what they say they have. They also do that work really well with US carriers. So your best bet will be to check some Chinese forums

[Completed] [Q] Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 Unresponsive touch screen

Recently i got myself my first smarthphone (yay!) it wasn't a very good one though GT-S6102: 290 MB ram and pretty small and can barely do anything. I always kept off from the Rooting stuff and getting other roms stuff since i was scared of messing up but after a while i got really curious (and bored) and decided to root my phone - success!. No issues, nothing. Then i decided to install a new rom to see how much of a performance boost it can give you, but... there the problems started... i turned on my phone - everything went fine but when i tried to click on the android dude that shows up when you turn your phone on for the first time - nothing happened... I thought, okay. Maybe it's just a bad ROM or something, so i removed the Battery to turn the phone off and installed another ROM - same results. I was starting to get scared because i knew that i have no warranty anymore because of the root. I installed quite a few different ROMs - same results. I started googling the problem but couldn't find much and i decided to get my old ROM back - i used something called Odin for that and yeah! i successfully got back my good 'ol rom, yet the touchscreen remains unresponsive. So my question is - is this even fixable? Or did i screw my phone in just 5 days? I really hope that there is a fix to that.
Also if replying i would recommend to explain it on a noob level because i'm pretty bad with these things as i'm new to them.
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
There is a chance you can get yourself up and running but it is possible that some hardware got borked
But this doesn't always mean you can't send it in for warranty, to find out more it is best to ask your question in a thread dedicated to your device, you will find a great q&a thread here

Best of luck!

Bluetooth Smart 4.0 pairing with Samsung GT S7710 Xcover 2

Hi new to the forum.
I bought the Xcover 2 in order to get a smartphone capable of surviving in the construction site.
But I realised it could not hold too many apps.
It's screen is allready shattered but at least, thanks to xda, I rock rootetd it and I can now have some usefull apps with me at work.
This week I bought a brand new Leica Disto D510 laser distancemeter with bluetooth pairing to use on site with my ruged (!) smartphone but ... Oh Lord, it DOESN'T PAIR.
It uses Bluetooth Smart 4.0 which can only be used with Android 4.3 or higher!!!! BoloX. The Xcover 2 runs 4.1.2
So THE QUESTION:
1: Is there any way to go around this without upgrading? I don't want to push the poor device too far and since it was designed for 4.1.2 I would like ti leave it with that if possible.
2: If I have to upgrade.. how the heck do you do that? I ,ve spent more that three hours now trying to find the right ROM to flash and I can't!!!!
Thanks in advance to the lady or gentleman, kind enough to post an answer. He will save me the cost of a new phone.

i dont believe there is any direct way around the bt issue.
your phone shipped with 4.1.2, seems odd that it never got any updates. did you go into settings near the bottom or in about phone, and check for updates?
there is at least one 4.4 rom for your phone that i found with a quick search, so there must be root and custom recovery some where, but its difficult for me to give accurate advice on how to proceed for a device i have no experience with.
ill just throw a couple google search links down here for you to look through if there are no software updates when you check.
if you decide to go the custom route, the first thing you want to do after installing twrp, and before installing a custom rom, is make a backup and save a copy to your pc for safe keeping. some times on these less popular devices it is hard to impossible to find the factory software, so you need a backup of it if anything goes wrong, or you dont like the rom.

Suspicions that "new" phone isn't really new...

Hello everybody,
First time posting but great job with all the advice given on this forum.
I recently bought a BLU Pure XL phone online (not sure I can post where I bought it from). When I was playing around with it, I found some ringtones that go on for about 30 seconds and have names like turkish_music or persian_wow_music. This is my second BLU device and I can recognize some ringtones also present on my other phone (Life One), and their naming is, for example, HalfwayHome and the length of those is not more than 10 seconds. I have screenshots if this would help, but again I am not sure if I am allowed to post them and I would like some guidance on how .
I was wondering if they are part of the default ROM or if someone was using my phone before I purchased it, because I only bought the specific one that was listed as new. Do they exist on anyone else's phone as well?
I was offered a free exchange but I would like to make sure the phone is not new before I proceed, since this will probably involve paying the shipping costs, and having to wait for the new phone to arrive. Is there a definite way to find out if the phone was used before I got it? I have searched for hours upon hours and also tried all the relevant secret codes but most of them didn't even open the respective menu they were supposed to open.
I would much appreciate your help or your view on this.
Thank you

I can assure you those are the default international ringtones you speak of. If you factory data reset the phone, you will still see the same ringtones. I personally would visually inspect the phone along with its packaging to ensure it is new and not used. Good luck!

There are no visible marks on the phone or the box. I just was thrown off by the existence of those ringtones. No other data/apps or anything else exists on the phone. I already tried resetting and they are still there so I guess you must be right. Do you have the international version as well? Are those ringtones present in yours as well?

I honestly wouldn't worry about it then. I bought my phone from Amazon here in the USA. I am 100% positive it's brand new and I have the same ringtones. I wouldn't exchange the phone for that reason alone. I had to exchange my first one since it had a small screen defect. My second one the fingerprint sensor started acting up. I'm on my third one and (knock on wood) it's been perfect. I've had it for over two months now. All three phones had the same ringtones. I personally think it's cool how it has such a variety of ringtones.

Thank you very much for your reassuring answers. :good: I hope that your 3rd is the charm. I also think it's cool to have lots of ringtones. I may even have some more on it in the near future. Oh well, for now, let's get comfortable with the new phone first
