Unable to re-lock nexus-s through fastboot

i'm in the process of re-locking my bootloader in order to send it to Samsung for repair (home button not working). when i run the command line "fastboot oem lock", it just keeps hanging at "waiting on device" and nothing happens. i have the correct drivers installed. when i run "adb devices", it shows up the device. however, when i run "fastboot devices", it does not show up anything. any help on relocking my bootloader would be appreciated. Thanks!
Probably shouldn't be answering this here buuuuut...
adb reboot bootloader
and THEN
fastboot oem lock.
See what happens. You have to be in boot loader mode. Please move your questions to the Q&A section sir.
i did enter that command in order to get into fastboot. after that , i ran the command "fastboot oem lock" but it gets stuck at "waiting on device"
Update your drivers
Yea at this point I'd say its a connectivity problem. Drivers and or cable, but since you are getting adb devices to recognize, its not your cable. You should really use ubuntu, you would save yourself a lot of time, because you don't really have to deal with drivers like windows.
'sudo fastboot oem lock'
You need to be super user.
sure you went into bootloader and not recovery? because adb is seen in recovery and doesnt work in bootloader!

[Completed] Need Help Unlocking Bootloader.

I have a Micromax A290 [Canvas Knight Cameo] which is rooted. I have installed adb and fastboot drivers in my PC running Windows 8.1. I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my device.
So I connect the device, type "adb reboot bootloader" and the phone boots into fastboot mode.
Next, I type "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock my bootloader.
The phone asks me for confirmation and I go for Yes.
Here is the problem.
After I choose yes, a message comes up in my device saying this:
"BOOTLOADER UNLOCK FAILED. RETURNING TO FASTBOOT IS 3s..."
I have tried everything I know. Used a different cable, used another port, but to no avail.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to XDA.
I couldn't find much information about your device here except this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tutorial-micromax-canvas-knight-a290-t2872896. Try posting your query there or in Android Q&A,Help and Troubleshooting. Experts there may be able to help you.

Mi unlock tool not detecting the device

Guys,I was using Miui now I wish to unlock the boot loader and install custom
But the mi unlock tool is not detecting the device
Tried adb devices..it's detecting the phone but the fastboot devices is not detecting the phone..and the device manager either in when phone is in fastboot
Help guys
Nb:installed latest drivers,windows 10
Did you find any solution?, i am stuck in a similar situation please help me out
1st of all: To unlock the bootloader you have to accept the OEM unlocking from the developer settings (if you dont know how to access them google it)
2nd: while in fastboot on the fastboot driver execute the command " fastboot devices"
the output should be something like xxxxxxxx fastboot
If the pc or mi unlock tool doesnt see the phone the change your fastboot &/or adb drivers
If it still doesnt recognise it then you should change cable or go to a technician to fix the phone.

Sounds like the bootloader was modified, which breaks the digital signature.
Try unlocking the bootloader again and reboot. Go into developers options and turn usb debugging on. Then connect a cable between your computer and the phone. An RSA signature key should be presented. Check the box "always accept from this computer". Then try rebooting into fastboot and flashing stock.
Not sure of this will help but that's the best advice I can offer.

HELP NOKIA C5 ENDI

Good Evening,
I am trying to unlock the bootloader on my Nokia C5 Endi via ADB. I have USB Debugging turned on as well as OEM Unlocking. While by device is turned on in regular use mode ADB recognizes my device perfectly. Once I enter "adb reboot bootloader" It places my phone into Fastboot Mode. I then enter "fastboot flashing unlock" and I get stuck on "Waiting for Devices" I have downloaded nearly every driver I can find on the internet since Nokia does not have a Driver Installation Page and I still continue to fail. My PC recognizes my device perfectly when it not in Fastboot Mode.
One Click Root site said my phone could be rooted. So I went through their process just for them to tell me it cant be rooted. They said it cant be rooted because the Bootloader cant be unlocked because its a Cricket Phone.
