I have a Micromax A290 [Canvas Knight Cameo] which is rooted. I have installed adb and fastboot drivers in my PC running Windows 8.1. I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my device.
So I connect the device, type "adb reboot bootloader" and the phone boots into fastboot mode.
Next, I type "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock my bootloader.
The phone asks me for confirmation and I go for Yes.
Here is the problem.
After I choose yes, a message comes up in my device saying this:
"BOOTLOADER UNLOCK FAILED. RETURNING TO FASTBOOT IS 3s..."
I have tried everything I know. Used a different cable, used another port, but to no avail.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.

i'm in the process of re-locking my bootloader in order to send it to Samsung for repair (home button not working). when i run the command line "fastboot oem lock", it just keeps hanging at "waiting on device" and nothing happens. i have the correct drivers installed. when i run "adb devices", it shows up the device. however, when i run "fastboot devices", it does not show up anything. any help on relocking my bootloader would be appreciated. Thanks!
Probably shouldn't be answering this here buuuuut...
adb reboot bootloader
and THEN
fastboot oem lock.
See what happens. You have to be in boot loader mode. Please move your questions to the Q&A section sir.
i did enter that command in order to get into fastboot. after that , i ran the command "fastboot oem lock" but it gets stuck at "waiting on device"
Update your drivers
Yea at this point I'd say its a connectivity problem. Drivers and or cable, but since you are getting adb devices to recognize, its not your cable. You should really use ubuntu, you would save yourself a lot of time, because you don't really have to deal with drivers like windows.
'sudo fastboot oem lock'
You need to be super user.
sure you went into bootloader and not recovery? because adb is seen in recovery and doesnt work in bootloader!
Hi
I've had some hard time trying to unlock my GT-I9060I's bootloader (so I can install unsigned custom ROMs) but I didn't succeed.
Thins I've tried so far:
Installed Android SDK
Installed ADB and Fastboot drivers
Changed the android driver to Android Bootloader Interface
The problem seems to either be my computer not recognizing the phone in fastboot mode or simply my phone not booting in fastboot mode (even though
HTML:
adb reboot bootloader
rebooted my phone)
How can I unlock my bootloader?

Hi, i have asus zenfone go and it was working fine for few months, then it started bootlooping, now it shows first image and shuts down.I can get in bootloader menu, but can't go to recovery, it just shuts down.I've tried using adb and fastboot, installed drivers, but adb doesn't detect it, fastboot dectects it, but I can't do anything without unlocked bootloader, but when I type fastboot oem unlock and confirm on phone it fails to unlock. If someone can help me please answer.

hello, I have tried to unlock bootloader through fastboot, but I don't have permission. I found sp flash tool which can flash rom, but I wasn't able load stock rom scatter, so I downloaded some system backup of same phone, I flashed it, now my phone doesn't show anything on screen, I can still connect it through download mode and when i just connect usb to pc it keeps restarting(pc makes connecting and disconnecting sounds).I read that it is because I of bad rom, so if someone has stock rom which can be loaded in sp flash tool I would be thankfull if he could give me the link.
Sorry for my bad english.

how to unlock the bootloader in Realme 5i RMX2030
Here is a good guide that worked for me to unlock the bootloader:

I've done the in-depth test and it's on the Fastboot screen but when I type fastboot flashing unlock in a command window it just shows me the help text for fastboot, which doesn't show any command or option for either flashing or unlock, so how can I get it to work if those aren't valid commands?
fastboot devices shows my phone, so the device is recognised.
EDIT: I'm still on Android 9 A.15. I understand that there's no unlocked for Android 10 yet.
EDIT: Nevermind. I was using adb/fastboot from the link in this guide, which is v1.3 https://www.ytechb.com/how-to-root-realme-5i-and-unlock-bootloader/
After I updated to minimal v1.43 from here it worked https://androidmtk.com/download-minimal-adb-and-fastboot-tool
My problem was same. But i successfully downgrade to color os 6. I guess you can try it too.
Enable USB Debugging and Allow unlock boot loader option in USB debugging.
Connect your mobile with PC and use following Command.
adb reboot bootloader
fastbook flashing unlock
Check mobile for unlock option.
How did you downgraded to colour os 6?
I'm trying to root my realme 5i that i upgraded to 10.
Can you help me?

Sounds like the bootloader was modified, which breaks the digital signature.
Try unlocking the bootloader again and reboot. Go into developers options and turn usb debugging on. Then connect a cable between your computer and the phone. An RSA signature key should be presented. Check the box "always accept from this computer". Then try rebooting into fastboot and flashing stock.
Not sure of this will help but that's the best advice I can offer.
Cheers,
B.D.
