Thanks man but the problem is my phone is hard stuck with glue(no casing version not like my mom phone) and I dont have heater machine.
sorry man, wish I could help more. The only way I can guess would be to interrupt an over the air update on the phone...But that is seriously risky for bricking your phone, and I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Hi everyone,
Here's my problem :
Since some few days, my Captivate won't start up, and won't connect anymore.
The screen stays black!
I tried usually things : removing battery, sim, microsd, then pressing vol up, down and power, connecting with ODIN3.. Nothing happends.
It was bricked after a custom ROM update. I did format data, cache and .. system ! As usually, because I tought formatting system was necessary. Maybe it was the wrong thing that made it crashes..
So, I thank you a lot for bringing me any help !!

could you give pls a little detail. as to what custom rom did you flashed, is it the froyo rom or ginger rom? and elaborate further on what did you do when this happens it might give other people here some more understanding on how to help you. If your your phone won't power at all and the soft bottons won't light up and won't respond with key combos or even a jig you likely had a perma brick as in hard brick.!!......If you are still on warranty no worries just tell them that your phone suddenly dies and that you have no clue what happens to it.
You can also try this if you like read the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020976&page=3
Thanks for your answer!
I flash many of my phones, so, unfortunately, I can't remember what kind of ROM it was! I also try many of those I can find on XDA.
Here's what happens :
Had formatted data, cache, and system. Then, flashed the ROM, and selected "reboot". Just after that, I was making coffee.. So, I came back 5 min after, and the phone was .. dead!
After many, many, many Captivate's ROM flashes (maybe 70 !?), first time it happends!
The phone is no more under warranty, so I can't do anything..
Btw, what is a "jig" ? Heard alot that word but..
And thanks for the thread, but I don't think there's a solution in it!?
I will browse it tomorrow, thanks
Thanks again for help!

Here ya go....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdn5GoRjhn0
The jig is usually the last resort for some. That is if holding volume up and volume down then plugging in the usb cable into your phone ( the other end being already plugged into your computer) does not put it into download mode.

U can either buy a jig from someone like mobiletechvideos on YouTube or make one urself using resistors (tutorials are scattered around the forum). U plug it into ur micro USB slot and it will put ur phone onto download mode. This works if ur phone is soft bricked and it may not work for u but definitely worth a try
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Sounds like you flashed a single bootloader and hard bricked your phone. Either jtag it or buy a new one...
JIG2WIN4LIFE if you can still turn on your phone without a perma black screen anyways
Hi,
I took a look over "JIG" on eBay, and found it for approx. 8 $.
But it says it can be used for ALL cases, at the exception if the screen stays black ! And that's my case..
So, do I have to buy it anyway, or is it really dead?
I don't want to buy another one!
Thank you.
sometimes the jig works, if you take out battery, DO NOT TOUCH ANY BUTTONS, put in jig. worked for me.
BUT your phone is under 1 year old. it has a warranty. if it happens to get broken in a way that they cant tell, and can never read the phone again... you get a [email protected]!!!
think speaker magnet or
2 seconds in the microwave 1 or 2 times MAX.. dont want phisical dammage! and there is plenty of electronic parts to get messed up very easy this way

Wow, nuking it will cover your tracks if they try to access anything on it?
if it is electrically damaged and wont work, they cant access it, and they cant see your tracks...
and my buddy nuked a phone before, to destroy it for fun, there were sparks immediatly. if that happens the phone aint going to work anymore. so do it in very short bursts. you do not want any physical damage.
or wave it in-front of a LARGE magnet to degause it until it doesnt boot anymore.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, but my phone is no more under warranty..
There was no warranty when I bought it from USA (on eBay), and I'm living in Belgium! So, no way
I will have to try the JIG then.. I suppose it's my last chance
yup jig is your last chance..
now the other day i bricked and the jig wouldnt work either unitl I found a trick that helped my jig work. this worked FOR ME in my situation. not all.
remove battery count to 5 and replace battery
DO NOT TOUCH ANY BUTTONS
put in jig. download mode!!!!
if i touched ANY button the jig would not work. worth a shot.
jigs are about 8$ on ebay or can be made with a few resistors for a couple dollars. (or whatever currency you have in Belgium). there are many threads on how to make them in the captivate forums on xda here. just make sure not to touch the resistors with your fingers if you make one. use tape to hold it.!! good luck buddy!
Thanks a lot!
I will buy a JIG on eBay then.. It would be safer!
We are using Euro currency in Belgium . So, a JIG is approximately 6 €.
It's a cheap price for this kind of tool! But by the way, HTC has much more solutions to unbrick their devices..
Hello I'm having some serious trouble with my android device. Whenever I turn it on it will just show a white screen. I can put the phone to sleep and when I press the power button again, the screen is still white. I can hear my text ringtone etc but the phone is useless with the white screen. Factory reset won't help either.
Any ideas?
what lead to the white screen?
external reason - water, dropping, general impact... ect?
i don't think it would be software since you did a factory wipe and since all the other software bits seem to be working.
i would suspect that the flex cable sending data to your lcd has come loose. either from the board or the lcd. hopefully its on the board side. thats easier to fix.. depending on how comfortable you are taking something apart.
I rooted my phone and was trying to make it run faster by deleting files using Titanium Backup. I deleted some essential Google file so now i cant access the market. I don't think this is the cause of the white screen though. Every now and then the phone will boot up correctly without the white screen so i don't think its a software issue.
How would I re-attach the flex cable?
You could still try to reflash via Odin.
Ok thanks I'll look into that. Any other ideas?
flash it
Boot into recovery, usually a power button volume button combo but varies depending on device. Then wipe/reflash Rom.
Should I use RSD?
I have a motorola spice
And how do I reflash rom?

Via Odin, I am pretty sure, that there is some tutorial around here.
I found odin tutorials but none of them have a Motorola phone. They only used Samsung phones. Would it work on a Motorola phone?
Ok I think I found a way but I need the sbf file for the Canadian Motorola Spice. I have a friend with the stock rom. anyone know how to extract it?

Sadly, I dont remember the commands.
OK so I'm going to take it apart tomorrow to see if it is a hardware issue.
What's the deal with flashing a custom rom? What limitations are there on the rom I can use?
I figured out I need to install the application G apps to access the market again. how would i do that?

Download the gapps package for android 2.1. it should be a .zip. Then go into CWM and flash
sorry for the really late reply.. for some reason i only just now got notified...
rsd lite is what i used to flash my electrify. which is a Motorola. i would assume it would be the same program from you as well.
as to reattaching a cable or reseating a cable its all a matter of how comfortable you are with taking things apart. if your really nervous about it.. i wouldn't suggest doing it at all. you are going to be dealing with a lot of very small bits... well maybe not so many but there will be a few.
the tools you will need are jewelers screwdrivers and maybe some small torque bits.

Hey guys. Sorry I didn't check back in. I took my phone apart and saw that half the flex cable was ripped. My phone is a slider and the edge of the keyboard would cut a little bit of the cable each time. I replaced the cable and Motorola took care of giving me the stock rom. Guess I got lucky.
Thanks to all you guys for your help
Gentlemen, I believe I have managed to brick my beloved Nexus 5. It began rebooting randomly a week or two ago, then several days ago it just got stuck in a bootloop (booting, shutting down, booting, shutting down, etc). I guess having the phone in a dock on my cars dashboard driving around in 97F degree weather with the sun shining in, caused the poor thing to overheat. I can't even get into a stable Recovery mode anymore, it just shuts down after a few seconds and then attempts to reboot. :crying:
I am fairly confident there is no remedy, but I thought I'd throw in my hat here to see if anyone has any pointers. I guess I am hoping for a best case scenario type deal. It is mainly the battery that would take damage from overheating, correct? If so, I might try replacing it.
Try hooking it up to a PC and seeing if u can use PC companion.try and reaserch it Ive seen it before on one of these threads.I'm sorry but I suck using pc s

Yeah, I have the Nexus toolkit. But without my phone even turning on (or staying turned on while I try getting into bootloader), there isn't much the toolkit can do. Not sure where you're trying to point me with this?

Hello all, I have a big problem with one 6045Y terminal.
I was triying to achieve root, and I accidentally flashed chainfire boot.img instead of just booting it, I had no custom recovery when I did that, so the result is that I cannot boot to Android because I boot all the time to the root script in chainfire's boot. I can only go to recovery, but I cannot reset to bootloader from there since that option is not present in 6045 stock recovery.
I have also try to use Mobile Upgrade latest's version, but it requieres the phone to stay off while connected to the PC and my phone inmediatly turns on when I plug the usb cable and then starts a bootanimation loop, so I can flash. So basically, the only option I think I have would be flashing a oza.zip file via stock recovery which had a boot.img, but I can't find any.
Do you think there is anything else I can try to recover the phone?
Thanks!
I just fixed this, If anyone with the same problem is interested, removing the backcover and plugin the battery in a out did the trick and Mobile Upgrade started working
Thanks all

Yes I'd like to know this as well. What tools did you use to get the back cover off? A heat gun?
Hello guys
I am afraid I do not know that for sure since it was a terminal from my work and the IT team got it opened, however maybe this guide could help you to open it

Pay attention to the antennas if you choose to open the phone by its back cover!
I've screwed up my GPS antenna by open my 6045I from the back cover (some antennas are sticked to the glue's scott), it seems that one needs top open by the front screen with a suction cup tool!

Hello,
so my sister droped her phone in water and gave it to me to repair it. Because it didn´t boot up at all I cleaned the motherboard with isopropanol. After this I charging worked but I was still stuck in the powered by android screen. (The phone tries to reboot every 10 seconds or so). I did flash twrp and could save all of her data via mtp. After that I tried to flash a custom rom, a stock rom with samsung smart switch and a stock one via odin. It always did work but the phone is still stuck in the powered by android screen and wont boot up
Is there anything left I can do or is the phone lost?
Thank you very much for your help!
Looks like too much mess with hardware, do youself a favour and do not mess with it anymore and get a help from 3rd party service (not samsung ofc, they would charge you a hell of a lot)
Sounds really familiar. I do repair phones for my work and a customer with a custom ROM had the same problem. I also tried everything, custom ROM, stock ROM, update, downgrade, etc... Nothing worked. Keeps rebooting. In the end a mainbord swap was the only solution. I'm afraid , especially after water damage , this could be the case with your s6.

Last option before going to 3rd party sercvice....
Put the mainboard in rice for 24-48 hours and then check again!

I already bathed the mainboard in Isopropanol for 48 hours. There shouldnt be any water left by now She will probably sell the display and buy a new phone because a new mainboard would be to expensive.
