SOLVED....Can´t get to TWRP because of my fault - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

SOLVED!......
So hello guys, I am 17 year old, amateur in this mobile topic . My mobile is honor 8 with android 7.0
I unlocked my boot loader and then I tried to flash the TWRP thorugh the fastboot. It didn´t work. Everytime when the mobile was starting I finished on the screen that told me :"your device is unlocked...., your device is starting..." just the normal window when you have bootloader unlocked. I couln´t get into anything. I tried multiple twrps and then I found one called like twrp-3.1.1-1-frd.img https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563 that worked for me and everything was ok.
But yesterday I wanted to unroot the phone. I read here how to do that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/honor-8-to-stock-locked-t3509004
But everytime I wanted to start through stock recovery.img (that was downloaded in update.app from https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/models-stock-firmware-packages-honor-8-t3501942) nothing happen.
Still the window with the message your device is starting. I coun´t get elwhere then bootloader mode. When I flashed the twrp-3.1.1-1-frd again, it worked normal. But I still wanted to get stock.
I didn´t know what to do so I scrolled down the same site and found this:
"Extract the update.app use this attachment
take Boot , Recovery , Data , System .
Go to ur Fast-boot Folder move this Files inside it .
Open Terminal or CMD throw Admin Rights inside the folder
make sure ur device with fast-boot mode before connecting ur cable to ur device
and make sure u have drivers installed
Type in CMD
Fastboot flash Boot boot.img
Fastboot flash Recovery Recovery.img
Etc .. flash all .imgs
Last type fastboot oem lock <YourPersonalUnlockCodeHere> ( THIS ONLY IF U LIKE TO LOCK AGAIN !)
fastboot Reboot . unplug cable and hope Work Fine ."
So I did what is written there I extracted those img files from update.app and flashed them ...... Now even if I put twrp-3.1.1-1-frd.img nothing happen I am stuck there only thing I can do is to boot to bootloader mode or be in the windew that is telling me device is starting....
And what would I want is to unstuck and go stock again.
Thank you in advance for your reply and sorry for the english.
How did I solve. I flashed twrp in recovery2 too, this solved it and mobile booted. THX for help guys.

I dont understand what you meant. the twrp-3.1.1-1frd.img doesn´t work for me at the moment it worked but since I did what I wrote it stopped working.
I cant get even in recovery mod.

I always prefer clean start. Is a longest way but for performace and battery is the best!! So u can make downgrade to Marshmalow and your bootloader will locked (relocked) auto. If don't know how (xda search) leave a post here

But I don´t know how and where to start the only 2 screens I get is bootloader boot and your device is starting...
and I dont know why all of the TWRPs stoped working for me

U can install even with root . It will bring back all the files to stock .dont worry about current system. It will be updated with the file in update.app and all ur changes to system will be erased

Hmm. so you probably need to flash a recovery first.
then you will be able to use the recovery to mount usb and put a new rom on your "sd card"
Then you can flash the rom on your new recovery and don't forget to fastboot flash the boot.img.
edit: the all in one toolkit is great for things like this. It will put a new recovery on your phone with just a click of the button.

I just edited my original post. just in case you didn't know how. I guess I was a little slow.
Also I can't remember if a bootloader factory reset relocked your phone but you might want to check that too. up on top it would say locked or relocked. If it still says unlocked you don't have to do that step again. Like you did when you first rooted the phone.
(all in one tool kit is great for unlocking and relocking too) just put a copy of that bin file in all in one tool kit (data file i believe, but it says what to do in that thread)

Your phone is an s3?
My phone is an S4 as are I would guess the majority of users. I think the s3 is the international version. If you are on T mobile then it's a s4.
Ok,,,
so .... if your phone is an s3 version then you will have to check that the Rom you download is specific for your phone as most of the Roms on this site are for the s4 version.
you need to go to your recovery. press the volume down button and hold it. Then press the power button (don't hold it). That will get you to recovery.
when in twrp recovery you will see a mounts button. hit that then the next screen will have mount usb. then you will be able to move a rom you downloaded on your computer to your phone.
then you can install the rom zip in twrp.
then from your computer, I assume you know how to flash a boot.img
put a boot.img in your fastboot folder, open up a comand prompt.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
if you wanted a different recovery than you are using, find the download the recovery. *I would rename the recovery to recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(I only mention a different recovery because in some of the Rom threads you might read that you can only install a particular rom with an older version of twrp.)
I'm not sure of your skill or experience with all of this. If you are very new to it (then you are probably really frustrated) have no fear there is a little bit to learn but not that much. Just keep reading the development thread and the guides in it.

So were you able to put twrp on your phone? when you are in boot loader and click on the recovery does it take you to twrp? Yes the all in one toolkit will flash a recovery for you. but you have your boot loader unlocked first.

in twrp when you press "mounts" then press "mount usb", does your computer finally see your phone?
I was looking at your first post, you say that you rooted and flashed your phone. What do you mean by that? Did you download a ROM and attempt to flash it? Or did you "fastboot flash boot boot.img"?
If you are able to access your phone via computer it is as simple as downloading a rom on your computer moving it to your phone then in twrp "install from zip". Then fastboot flash the boot.img.

if you are just fed up and want your phone back to stock then you will need to run an RUU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094414
To run a RUU you would need to relock your bootloader.
in console type "fastboot lock oem" or use your all in one toolkit to relock it.
if that fails you will need to put your stock recovery back. (you need to have boot loader unlocked to do this)
on the clockworkmod recovery page the stock recovery is the second download link.

Already tryed. Nothing, same error. Since in phone was NXT-L29C432B320 firmware. I searched in internet its able to update to nougat. L29C432B521(beta).
I used dload method and phone get bricked. After that tryed rollback software to all older versions. And nothing, dload dont helped.
Next i writed to huawei custumservise and they gives me bootloader unlock code. I used it and succsesfull unlocked phone.
Next step was twrp revovery.img installed succsesfully. And worked fine.
Searched international custom rom for my device. And installed via twrp recovery without errors or faild. But in twrp meniu bellow i saw "os not installed"
After that phone restarted 2 times, and wont boot system. That twrp recovery disapier from phone. And until now im stuck here to find any soliution.
Yesturday i was tryed even dc unlocker pheonix program for 15€ and its not helped..

Step 2
After performing steps in guide your phone should boot up
Then you need to repeat flashing, but now in upgrade mode
This step is necessary to fix incorrect internal storage size after flashing in fastboot

BLN21 Bricked.. No adb no fastboot

Hello,
Here is my problem, my Honor 6x seems to be brocked.
I got the Error mode,
Func NO : 11 ( recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (load failed!)
This is the only screen i can have when i reboot, also with the volume keys or power keys..
My phone is not detected by adb or fastboot, my drivers are ok.. I have already reboot my computer..
I tested to put a UPDATE.APP on sdcard/dload but when i reboot, nothing ! Only the ERROR mode !
Can someone help me ?? I really don't understand why my phone don't work in fastboot because i see some posts where people's phone is always detected by fastboot with the same errors as me..
Sorry for my english, i'm french !
The only thing you can do now is sending it to service center
Yes ! You're write, with a coldstart with 0% battery give me access to fastboot this morning !
I will test to reflash twrp this evening and i tell you ! Thanks !
I will explain to you what i did.
First I brick my phone because i have relock the bootloader.
Then the error mode was here.
After i retest with 0% battery, first the phone boot on android normally, I reboot again to access the bottloader for reflash my recovery and before, unlock again my bootloader..
So i Unlock my bootloader, it work, but now I have again the error mode page OR sometimes, the devices boot on Android normally, but no recovery, and for the moment no fastboot.. But I test it this morning very fastly because i have to go to work ^^ Now I'm writing thiw at work, i don't have my device. Test it this evening.
My device is a BLN-L21 with 360 build.
My first wish was to put my phone full stock and relock the bootloader beacause my fingerprint is dead and i want to send the phone in warranty !
But i don't no how to full put it stock. The dload function doesn't work for me ^^..
At least you've got the device running.
Yes ! Maybe I have a chance to save the device !
The thing i don't understand is the way how boot the device in normal android or in error mode seems to be random..
I check in 2 hours at home if fastboot is OK and if everything is UNLOCK Thanks guys !
Well, no fastboot, but my devices reboot sometimes on android..
But much more on the error page.. I absolutely need to flash a recovey to be ok with that...
The only way to boot on android is to put the battery at 0%..
Can i directly flash a recovery in android ? Maybe with twrp app. But my phone is no more root now because i restore the system.. This is a ****ing situation ^^
Edit !
I boot on android, try to flash twrp with the app, it doesn't work but when i reboot fastboot was ok ! So i flash the recovery and everything seems to be good.. !
Ouuf !

You can choose to restore a previous backup if you have one, or you can flash stock rom from zero, but with the 2nd method you'll loose everything that you didn't backup.
I need the second solution, i can get the stock rom on the honor website? Or XDA ?

softbricked pixel

Hello everybody, hope u doing fine.
i was looking to root my pixel, so i installed kingroot and it rooted it just fine, then i wanted a root manager so i went to play store installed supersu (i guess that was the cause, i shouldn't have done that),then i opened it, it asked to download binaries(or install i'm not quite sure...), anyway this went fine too, then it sayed, everything gone right, restart your device, i clicked in reboot, it restarts with google logo and animations, but it bassicaly wont boot it is just stuck at the dots animation.
the problem is that i left oem bootloader locked, so now i can't do anything via fastboot adb... when i do: fastboot oem unlock , it says: failed (remote: oem unlock is not allowed)
i searched a bit more and found that we can unbrick qualcomm powered devices with qfil flashing tool, but requires a firmware wich is in .mbn format, wich i don't find on the internet (at least for the pixel), maybe there's a custom rom in mbn format...
i'm on android 7.1.2, stock rom, unlocked version.
please tell me if there's a way to fix that,
thank you in advance ? !

Did you try turning the phone off and then using the power-on + volume down key to get to the bootloader menu? from there press the volume up key until you get to recovery and the press the power button. In recovery do a factory reset. That should take care of stuff. In future, don't use kingroot as it's a malware ridden app (that is if you care about your personal data). If you need root then use Magisk instead. Gives you root and also a root manager. If you are planning to tamper with root then make sure to have your bootloader unlocked. Let me know if factory reset worked.
yes i tried to factory reset it from recovery mode ( i did that twice ) and that didn't help.

I have one more idea you could try. Download latest OTA update from here: https://developers.google.com/android/ota
go into recovery and follow the instructions given on the link I just gave you and apply the update using adb sideload in recovery. (You have to manually get into recovery as you did before but follow the instructions from the point where you're inside the recovery.) This should work. Seems that kingroot/supersu corrupted your system somehow. Let me know if it worked.
i already came across that site because i was on android p, i didn't like it so i went back to nougat...anyway to say that i have the nougat image .zip , so do i have to download the latest firmware ?
ok ok, that's not the same...SORRY ?? !!

yeah, it's not the same and you'll find the 8.1.0 update there and the updates from the past. Give it a go and tell me the results when you're done
i tried that, everything went as intended, when i power it up there's animations of 8.1 but still wont boot.
i tried to wipe data and boot again, nothing.
is there a way to flash stock rom with adb (just like we did with that update) ?

I'm glad it worked itself out.
I'm from Norway. Married a swede so living in Sweden now. My parents are from Sri Lanka (the island below India) but moved to Norway before I was born. I've been to Sri Lanka once. Would like to travel to India sometime too :silly:
Algeria seems nice. Must be hot there. I've never been to Africa. Would like to travel there too some day
Yes totally, Algeria is really safe and people here won't bother you (like if you're wondering how u would be seen or received as a foreigner) there's foreigner all year round but especially in summer time, just have something planned in advance because it's Algeria not USA or another well developed country ? but still there's a lot to see here, definitely worth the visit.
When it comes to whether, well it's a Mediterranean weather so expect nice warm days, that being said, there's some time when it goes rainy with thunders and cold, for example now it is very pleasant outside, but yesterday the weather gone crazy... I guess that's because of the global warming.

1) Install the Google Android driver if your Pixel isn't already recognized by your computer when booted to fastboot mode.
https://developer.android.com/studio....html#download
2) Download the factory system image for Pixel to C:/Google
https://developers.google.com/android/images
3) Unzip the system image folder into same folder, same with adb/fastboot tools in C:/Google
4) Run these commands in cmd prompt as administrator while Pixel is in bootloader mode
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-sailfish-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-sailfish-*.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash system_b system_other.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash modem modem.img
fastboot reboot

I messed up with Huawei Mate 9. Please Help.

Guys i have a really really big problem with mate 9 (MHA-L29). I broke both twrp and system same time (please don't ask why.)
Now, my phone don't open, just fastboot&rescue mode, useless huawei recovery (which can't format data neither install stock rom). Besides, i can't install stock rom because i tried once, and i downloaded wrong system file, and i can't format the phone now. Because of that, stock rom that i download sd card not working too. Because there is a dload file in phone.
worst of all, i can't install twrp again, because my fastboot screen tell me that: "Phone Unloced" (with red) "FRP Lock" (with green). When i try to install twrp, adb says "Failed, remote command not allowed"
Now, if can install the twrp, all my problems will be solve. There is 1 custom rom (RomAur) and 1 system backup.
How can i install twrp with this situation?
Please someone help me i spend 2 days and still nothing! How can i open this phone? Stock rom, with/without root, custom rom whatever, just tell me how can i open this phone
up
You get that command when trying to flash the wrong recovery partition, was your room nougat or Oreo based?? If nougat it's fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and Oreo fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery.img I think you are trying to flash the wrong partition

With FRP lock you'll have to use DC-Phoenix.
But it costs €19 (For 3 days usage).
Simply put you can bypass FRP with it by force closing DC-Phoenix when it has activated the backdoor, after this you can flash anything from fastboot (until you reboot).
So you could use it to flash back TWRP.
Or you can use it to install stock firmware

During startup the menu there is a option to go in Huawei e-recovery, when you are at the start up menu hold volume up for about 5 second.

Special Request
Hey ante . Is it possible to help me ? I rooted my phone 2 days back and messed it up while downloading a framework app which ended me up in a bootloop. I have been reading and following your posts of you helping others. I don't really get the steps what I should follow.
My phone is unlocked. FRP shows Unlock.
Rooted on oreo and I tried e-recovery and fastboot steps you mentioned in other threads using kernel and ramdisk etc. ( After this I have lost access to TWRP and I am simply getting EMUI Screen with options for Factory Data Reset and Wipe Cache Partition. I don't know where it is going to lead me next :-/.
Also downloaded Huawei Extractor and tried to extracted specific files but the firmware file I have doesn't have CUST.img file.
Also the site link you mentioned for download firmware is in some other language and I am unable to search for my firmware.
I also tried the placing update file in the dload on my sd card but fails at 5%. The file was correct and I am sure I did'n download the wrong firmware.
Currently it shows this on the fastboot screen.
Andorid reboot reason
: AP_S_ABNORMAL 32
NA
Just don't know what I should be doing ? PLEASE HELP BRO?

What's your firmware now?
You can get that info in Fastboot using
Code:
fastboot oem get-product-model
fastboot oem get-build-number
Since your recovery and fastboot still functions you probably will only need to use HWOTA to get back to stock.
It can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-oreo-update-package-t3699522
But post your cust/build before proceeding.
Also cust.img is found in UPDATE.APP in the hw data zip.
Problem Solved - Somewhat
Hey ante. Thanks for the promt reply. I got it solved by using CHIMERA tool.
Would like to suggest others also stuck with same issue to use CHIMERA.
Note - It is a paid tool and 100% legit and it can help with all problems related to FRP, Bootloader Lock / Unlock & also flashes back to factory firmware.
However what I am facing now I have flashed another version of firmware which isn't my region and some features of my phone like fingerprint scanner and other things are not working but phone is back to live. So Im glad and looking forward to searching for clean Oreo Firmware for my region to flash using CHIMERA Again.
Also, the sick and stupid part of it. I went to the service center and a person non-technical told me straight that you lost your device and it's of no use now. We cannot fix such issues 99% but I'll still ask my team and let you know after 3 days.
Thank God I didn give them and wasted my time and money.
As soon as I returned, I followed up to things and got it done myself. :good:
Anybody can possibly suggest a official firmware Oreo EMUI for Middle East Region!? If not which one can be flashed instead and where to download from?
