Hello everyone,
This morning, I was reading a post about honor 9 and 8 and I have found something.
A guy was talking about unabilities for honor 8 to use some of the 4g frequencies in Europe especially in France (where I live in).
Can you tell me more about this? Info or intox?
Thanks and have a good day
(sorry for that poor english and maybe double post)
Well it probably depends on which model you buy, he might have US or Asian model which may not be compatible with frequencies used in Europe. I have European version of Honor 8 - FRD-L09 and have no problem with 4G network.
Thanks for repply. I have also FRD-L09.
It is not a big problem but it seems to be true.
Sometimes, I have slow connection but don't know why :/
Possibly a bad signal reception in the area? As I said, I have used my Honor 8 in multiple countries across Europe and never had a problem.
I used Honor8 in roaming 4G in Italy, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Slovenia, UK and France. Never had a problem

You are right. Maybe I gonna factory reset or go custom ROM. I'm interested by this RR rom based but I saw there are still some issues. Don't want to do a bullsh*t

Well the last update squashed more bugs. It's worth to give a try.

Yes very much satisfied. I hated EMUI.
Actually if I remember correctly the H8 only has support for some LTE bands and depending on your carrier it might be an issue.
I hope I'm not mistaken this for a different phone but looking this one up specifically is the better option anyway.

Somehow I ended up having a CMCC version of Mate 7 (TL00).
Already unlocked and rooted.
Used the "network unlock assistant" from China Unicomm ("网络解锁助手")
Still, I'm not able to get on the LTE or even 4G from AT&T. Only 3G.
I thought all these models have the same hardware specs?
Can anyone help?

I've flip-flopped between the different models, but came to the realization that im paying for 4G/LTE so i might as well get a phone capable of supporting it. So i settled with the L09 model.

No gold mt7 - l09 model?
so looking online I seem to only find the Chinese version and the L29 I think it is, which is limited to 3 gb only. where can I purchase the other L version that has 4 gb ram and 64gb internal? Selling my note 5 to get this bad boy. can't wait!!
thanks
afaik there are no 4gb international versions... also, there arent any hardware differences between the AL10 and L29 phones aside from the differing support for a few LTE bands. and by a few were talking about like 1-3 here, so nothing to write home about....the rest of the hardware is absolutely identical, u can even crossflash the firmwares, sooo....why not just get the AL10 and call it a day?

hm unclear which version the second link offers, but the first looks like the L29, not sure though since they mixed up LTE and UMTS bands.
in any case, i did say there was a very slight difference in supported LTE bands, but thats it. everything else is 100% the same, so nothing to make a fuss about if u ask me

I just want the versions that comes pre installed with Google play. I don't want to have to root and flash the international version. it looks like there is a 4gb ram and 64gb international version. now I just need to figure out if it has AT&T bands.

except one is a Chinese version no Google play and the others are not.
i was talking about the hardware
sure, not everyone likes to play around with software, i understand that. but seeing as roms are interchangeable between the chinese and international model, there is really no fixed hardware-based difference between the two thats what i meant
NXT-L29 with 64gb/4gb ram hasn't been released yet, only 32 in silver and grey is available in few countries. 64/4 in gold and mocha (NXT-L29) will be released next month in EU
interesting info! where did u get that from?

I'm in Ireland so it will probably never be in shops here. I will need to buy online. Do you have the international version, if so where did you get it?
why is it never going to be in shops there? in any case, id suggest checking out UK sites, they should have the mate 8 in stock
i got the AL10 chinese version through aliexpress
I'm looking to buy mate 9 to use in the UK.
Please share your thoughts on the phone especially those within the uk.
I'm interested in knowing if it would work on all UK 4g networks.
If camera is any good ompared to iPhone 7 S7 etc.
If there were any concerns with the phone.
I've read it does have touch screen issues which is worrying.
I just need help deciding if this phone is worth getting or not.
Not sure where to purchase in the UK, but you can purchase the international version (model #MHA-L29) from several retailers online. I purchased it from Wonda Mobile and had it shipped to the US. They pay any import taxes etc. too, and warranty it for 1 year. Make sure the model number is MHA-L29, not MHA-AL00 (Chinese version without 'true' Google Services integration).
How much did you pay?

Yes i am, I have the Mate 9, working great, I did an unboxing video on my YouTube channel. I have bought 15 phone's over the last 6 months from wonda mobile and no issues. My channel name is Tech Zilla
I've owned the phone for three weeks, never heard of any touch issues, and never had any. It's working better than any phone I've owned. The EMUI 5 is now my favorite UI.
Congrats all! This is a top of the line device!

That's fine I'm not asking about the US variant. In the title I state C636 which is Asia if I recall correctly.
Using C636 in Singapore.
Got the update a week ago.
Some people here also did not receive it yet.
So I guess, they are rolling in batches.
It took around 1 week for me to get them from the time I've read about someone getting the B172 update.
I've noticed a slight battery improvement from B158. Music controls from spotify now works on the locksreen.

What the heck are you talking about, the phone is great, battery is great (81% left after busy day), speed is blazing, camera is great, little to know issues (gmail freezes and no swipe down to answer) - surely not worth crying about and from what I read the update has no significant value - return your phone if you are so displeased with OnePlus.

That is a T-Mobile problem...not OnePlus! For whatever reason you chose to purchase the T-Mobile version of the phone along with all the consequences. I haven't purchased a phone through a carrier since unlocked phones became available. So you only have yourself to blame. I too wonder why it is taking so long for the unlocked phones to receive the last few updates...but then again I'm happy that my phone is working great...and let all the other countries be the beta testers and squash the bugs...then they can release a truly stable version for me!

Because we have full zips for Euro and OTAs will actually work. Converting to global would require the same reserve.img dumping as T-Mobile variants and break OTAs without tons of effort. Global will hopefully use OnePlus servers for the next OTA.
For now, converting to Euro is best for most 8T variants. Modem works perfectly with whatever bands your phone's hardware support.
