This post is successor to
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5...ting-xperia-z5-z5p-variants-drm-keys-t3437902
SONY has pushed update 32.4.A.0.160 for XPERIA Z5 E6833 / E6853 and E6883 which is on Android 7.1.1 (unexpectedly)
THOSE WHO NEVER ROOTED THEIR Z5 / Z5P AND POSSIBLY HAVE LOCKED BOOT LOADER MUST READ THIS
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5...ting-xperia-z5-z5p-variants-drm-keys-t3437902
THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE ROOTED Z5P CAN PROCEED because you are already aware of
- method of extracting TA.img either via DIRTYCOW SCRIPT (android6) and ivoryroot (android 5x)
- flashing Nougat by latest flashtool v0.9.23.2 (also knows replacing xjar files to make flashtool uptodate )
- ALL mother board and related drivers are installed
- you already have downloaded FTF 32.4.A.0.160 of your VARIANT/region and
- ftf downloaded by XPERIFIRM tool (recommended)
the twrp installed stock modified kernel of 32.4.A.0.160 can be found at

after putting superSU in sd card , kindly flash it
just incase, if device goes in to bootloops or softbricks
holding power+volumup for 15 seconds will make the device vibrate THRICE , and on second vibration. releasing fingers IMMEDIATELY will switchoff the device for you to connect in flashmode/fastboot mode to flash the roms/kernels again

if you are installing phh superuser then
1. flash superuser-r259.zip from twrp
2. boot and install phh_superuser...apk
then reboot.
however i am personally using superSU. since on phh_superuser i was unable to give /system RW access

Just unable to boot into TWRP recovery. It stuck on splash screen and the LED is yellow.I tried the rootkernel in this thread too:https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/firmware-32-3-0-372-certified-android-7-t3537948
and got same problem. My device is z5p dual,E6883,I have already install the 32.4.A.0.160 firmare downloaded from xperifirm.Root access and DRM fix works perfectly, the only problem is that I cannot boot into TWRP.I dont know what's wrong.Any advice please?

do this kernel support SafetyNet and magisk?

Hi!
I don't understand this, if the kernel has the drm fix, is necessary downgrade the phone and backup the original drm? Or can I install this kernel, twrp and root directly the stock 7.1.1 version?

Which part of this makes it impossible to use it on a locked bootloader? Also, I don't seem to be able to untick flashing of loader.sin in flashtool. Did you mean remove it from .ftf?
Hello,
Does the author of this method root KK, may explain how he was able to make a flash FTF KK (18.3.C.0.37) without kernel.sin and loader.sin ????
Me after this operation the phone at all is not "wake"
Please write exactly step by step how this done.
A loader.sin and kernel.sin I was able to remove the FTF using rar
Because I do not see the possibility of removing loader.sin by flashtool.
Also, this method presented here, unfortunately, did not work.
Back to JB.
In spite of everything thank you to the author's guide to root for the KK .
Regards.

[Q] Official Lollipop System R/W?

Hi all!
Is there any way to regain system R/W access on stock lollipop rom?
Or is there any "fixed" flashable prerooted ROM to download?
I was on rooted 4.4 LB and flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/d6603-5-0-2-flashable-stock-23-1-0-690-t3056361 , ROOT is working fine without system R/W access so i cannot edit build.prop
Also, since recovery isnt working anymore it is quite difficult to revert to prevous 4.4 ROM.
"Turn off mount namespace, reboot, reinstall your choice of file explorer" doesent work for me, i use root explorer.
Any ideas?

You must have an unlocked bootloader
Justo go here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Click on XZDualRecovery Kernel and download the proper kernel for your device. On Flashtool (PC/Mac) flash a previous kernel with recovery (just google it). After, boot your devie in recovery (it will not boot on system because of the kernel) and flash the file you have downloaded first. You should have R/W system access, but no recovery (kernel and recovery are links).
You can roll back to KitKat with flashtool

My experience is that usually people are running into problems when:
1. Not following instructions properly
2. Altering instructions
3. Not doing clean wipes or installs
Sent from my D6603 using XDA Free mobile app
I had the problem, that /system was shown as mounted r/w, but after a reboot all changes were gone. I had to lower the SELinux policy to permissive, after that all changes were permanent. However, you have to do that every time you reboot, so if some add-ons (like XPosed framework) need /system r/w at boot time, you have to alter the kernel package. Since I went back to 4.4.4, I can't help you with the latter one.
Forget that, just try this:

Upgrade from 32.2.A.0.305 to 32.2.A.5.11

Hi!
Did anybody managed to upgrade from unlocked an rooted 32.2.A.0.305 to 32.2.A.5.11?!
I tried it at least five times and I failed.
Everything seems to work, except unlocking the bootloader and gaining root access.
1) Flashed the new firmware with Flashtool (without TA partitions!).
2) Tried to unlock the bootloader but this is not working as expected.
The service menu tells me that I can unlock my bootloader.
But when I try to unlock it via fastboot I am getting a message, that my device is already rooted/unlocked.
FAILED (remote: Device is already rooted)
So I locked it again using the "Sony Mobile Flasher". After a reboot the "fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x....." command gives me an OKAY and after the next reboot my device is automatically wiped.
But the service menu still tells me that my bootloader is unlockable and not that is unlocked!
Installing the patched kernel and TWRP seems to work because fastboot returns an "OKAY".
But neither I can access the TWRP recovery (LED won't get amber) nor the device is rooted.
Okay.... does anybody can give me a hint, how to root the current FW version?!
Ok, I downgraded to 32.2.A.0.305 and everything is working fine again!
I have root access and I can boot into recovery!
What is wrong with 32.2.A.5.11?
im on .I 1 , bootloader unlocked , rooted
got same error as u
device already rooted
so i just didnt check what services menu say and rooted my z5

How did you do this?
I flashed a modifyed kernel (dm-verity: off, RIC: off, TWRP: no, DRM fix: yes, busybox: no) with
fastboot flash boot boot.img
But I cannot install SuperSU from PlayStore.
It sais that the su binary is missing and that it cannot be installed.
So, next I tried to install TWRP with
fastboot install recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-E6653-20160504.img
But on a reboot the LED is not getting amber and I cannot enter recovery.
It seems that neither the patched kernel nor the recovery has been installed. Even though fastboot returned with an OKAY for both install commands!
First I thought that something went wrong patching the kernel with rootkernel5.0. So I downloaded and flashed an already patched one for 32.2.A.5.11. But I have still no root access!
From loud despair I flashed the SLIMX REBORN ROM (1.17BEATMODE). Now I have full root access again, but on 32.2.A.0.305 with my old problems: a) The SU binary cannot be updated from within SuperSU app and b) SONY annoys me to update to the new version every day.
I can't believe that it is not possible to root the new version or that it just doesn't work for my device.
u missed 1 small detail
first : download flashable supersu ( supersu. zip )
then put it in rootkernel folder
build the kernel
u will get extra question asking u to install supersu ( the answer is yes )
flash ur boot. img
thats it
Hi!
I know that I can integrate SuperSU into the kernel image.
But I cannot upgrade a su binary installed that way by using the SuperSU app from playstore.
The PlayStore / TWRP method for SuperSU works like a charm on 32.2.A.0.305.
But I will give it a seventh try with "AndroPlusKernel Permissive v42" instead of the patched stock kernel.

Okay, I am giving up for now!
Buying a SONY phone was one of my worst decisions in 2016.
After a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and a HTC One M8 the SONY Z5 drives me crazy.
After installing 32.2.A.5.11, SuperSU 2.79 and AndroPlus kernel v42 I still have a phone that is unrooted!
And TWRP is reporting the unknown partition "/keymaster"....
so u have supersu installed and working ?
if thats the case i also have binary update problem when updating it from playstore

4. Copy this file to fix the systemui root warning http://www.mediafire.com/file/9nxmc64x4gm6xro/SystemUI_OppoF1Plus_X9009_LP_MM_TWRP.zip
5. Copy the latest Supersu zip installer (tested v82) http://www.supersu.com/download

13. Enjoy
Release: beta1
Twrp is very good, root is perfect with modified systemui. But I have a nonsense problem that black screen after screen unlock. And I know that it is boot.img related issue. When i flash r9m mm boot.img it is working but no sim. And both r9tm and x9009 6.0 mm firmware, fingerprint is not working.
On 5.1 x9009 i have no issue all is working perfect.
I dont know the threater point. He said Prerequisites: root permission
But everyone here want to root
But he said that for what? ?

Use modified mtk_allinone_da.bin . this is the most important think to flash.
I dont know how to modified it ?
...Vietnamese User...
if you read the subject , you don't need to modify, it is modified.
4_ Use this custom DA file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/69l8nxs22r24m7f/MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin

So I can still downgrade my x9009EX to LP??
I am making it every time. The most important thing is , using custom da.bin file.

I'm on MM now, how can I flash it? Do I need to flash something to activate the fastboot on my F1 Plus?
