Edit build.prop on the S7 without root. Is it possible? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi Guys,
I was planning to root my phone but I don't want to do a factory reset. Is there any possibility to edit the build.prop without root? The only reason I wanted to root is to enable on screen navbar and disable the hw buttons. I hate them
If anyone has any solution for this, i would forever be in debt to you
Thank you!
Dan

No, build.prop is a system file and thus requires root to edit

5.1.1 root for n915g work but....

Seem like micky insecure kernel does make the root work great. But just wondering is there anyone also find the wifi wont auto connect anymore? I have to manually add them...
If you mean that the passwords are not saved the fix is in the kernel thread.
In build.prop change ro.securestorage from true to false.
Thank you ..it works. One more thing does anyone know how to disable that security notification after rooting other than disabling the whole smart manager? I try the notification setting unfortunately the smart manage do not have the block option.
Update: i think i found a soltion to this annoying security notification. Use titanium back up or root uninstaller to freeze security log agent.

Unrooted device when hosts file were corrupted.

Hello guys! I really need some help.
I have an Samsung Galaxy Tab A and since 2 weeks i was rooted with kingroot.
After I wanted to unroot permanently but I forgot to delete the hosts file so the android will build a new one. And now i can't acces Google Play or any app that use G.P.Services,and also I cant root again because all the apps downlod their strategies from the cloud and ,apparentlly , I can't download them because of hosts file.
What can I do? I don't want to use adb.... It's there a way to delete hosts without root?or to root again?
And if I have to use adb pls give me noob instructions epbecause i never used adb.
Sorry for my bad English.

I assume you can use kingroot desktop.

Lg G3 AT&T Hotspot authorization disable.

I used to have the problem of not being able to access the hotspot feature of my phone AT&T lg g3. I went through a lot of threads on a lot of websites but i couldn't really find a satisfactory answer. But after a lot of searching and experimenting i found something really good. The easiest and best solution there is to the problem.
NOTE: my phone is an lg g3 at&t d850 running android 6.0
You'll need two apps: there
•kingroot ( this is an easy to use root app which can easily unroot as well. U wont find it on the playstore. Only on the apps official website)
•build.prop editor
Here are the steps:
•firstly install kingroot and root ur phone. If kingroot doesnt work u could always try other apps
•next in the root authorization menu of kingroot, give build.prop editor root access
•next open build.prop editor and search for the parameter "ro.build.target_operator" it should be 'ATT' change the value to 'OPEN' and save. If the app says that it has trouble saving then u probably didnt give it root access.
•now restart ur phone and the hotspot should work.
Note that after restarting ur phone kingroot automatically unroots and all root access is gone

Adding apps to system

I'm quite new to using a phone without root, so is there a possibilty to add apks to system without rooting?
I tried ADBFastbootTools but it seems like it won't add anything. No apk and also no new folder.

System partition is write protected. Not only Root is needed, you need a systemlees system like Magisk for example to not break dm-verify. Another option should be a rooted phone with dm-verify disabled.
In both cases, you will need a unlocked bootloader and root

[Non-Root] Huawei Nova 5T - change build.prop HAL3 value

Hi,
Is there anyway to edit build.prop and enable the HAL3 flag from 0 to 1 without unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP? I want to get GCam for this device.
please help
Editing system files as build.prop requires you have superuser rights, means Android is rooted.
FYI: You don't have to flash TWRP at all, simply booting into it does it.
Thanks for the info, I'm guessing there's no way to edit that one solimple line without rooting or loading Into TWRP. And since it's like impossible to unlock bootloader for Huawei, I'm not gonna chance it.
