I think it's the glove mode. Go to settings->display and disable glove mode.

Hi everyone
I'm very happy with my Z5, even on the camera's side.
Anyway I'm facing a strange problem: sometimes my camera UI completely disappears, I only have the sensor view but no icon, no menu, nothing. Even the scren is unresponsive.
I have to quick press the power bouton (but the screens goes off and I have to unlock it) to retrieve the interface.
Anyone's having the same issue?
Thanks in advance.
PS: FYI I have the touch capture ption ticked, don't know if it changes anything...
Maybe Enable animator scale in developer options will help.
There were a few folk in that thread having a similar issue so thought maybe you had changed this setting?

Hello,
First post here, looking for some help.
I just updated my At&T Galaxy Note 8 to Oreo, and with Oreo has come a very strange problem where the color of the screen is very red. It is definitely a software problem, as the correct color balance is there for a couple seconds after booting, then the red comes back. This has lead me to believe it is a problem with the blue light filter being unable to be turned off. The switch is settings is definitely off, and I even tried using Adhell 2 to completely disable it, but have had no luck. I've also revoked the permission to use screen overlays of all my apps that had it and that didn't help either.
If anyone has any ideas how to get my whites back to being white, I'd appreciate it greatly!
I'm having the same problem. Also my notifications aren't showing on any of my apps until I open them. I read something about the blue light application being turned off. I made sure my location is turned on and blue light still is stuck on.

i am having the exact same problem as well. same situation just i have a tmobil phone. i tried to disable the blue light filter with the bk manager to no luck .
my wife who has a note 8 as well has not updated and when compared side by side my phone has the blue light filter stuck on with the minimum opacity. i can still turn on the filter it just makes it even more incredibly red. i sadly do not have any advice to offer and hope there will be a hot fix soon.
To all who are suffering this. Check these settings.
1. Go to Settings/ Device Maintenance/ battery and make sure power saving mode is turned off.
2. Settings/ Display/ Screen Mode and make sure its on the highest setting.
3. This is mostly a diagnostic step but, Turn the blue light filter off, then HOLD the power but to open the power menu then touch AND HOLD power off till it asks for comfirmation to boot into safe mode. Then do it.
If non of that works. A Factory Reset may be needed.
Back your personal stuff up. NEVER back up settings if your having a software issue.
Id turn the blue light filter off first then reset from recovery.
Mine started doing the same thing today and I checked the setting and saw I accidentally turned on scheduling.
First note 8 I bought did this the first day, ended up returning g it for a new phone. Mine had a yellow tint to the screen and there's a million things on Google about it.

I don't know if this is a "bug or feature" type of situation, but I just got my brand new Poco F2 Pro and I noticed that the colors in the lock screen are washed out. I deleted all the registered fingerprints from the Settings and suddenly the colors are... colorful again.
So, is this a bug that Xiaomi can fix with a software update, is it a hardware issue, or is it intentional and necessary for the fingerprint sensor to work?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
i can confirm this phenomena
Correct observation.
Don't know the reason but probably a bug not solved with Miui 12.
It did this on MIUI 11 as well just not as noticeable. It drives me insane tbh, especially the quick settings menu. Can't even take a pic of it. I've tried a handful of lockscreen themes and found one that is bearable as it let's you tint the lockscreen.
I see it too
Same here.
Did you use advance color gamut setting instead of auto? I noticed this when color gamut option is not set to auto.
Make sure if you're using dark mode, in settings/display/dark mode you don't have wallpaper darken... This creates a washes out look
I have experienced this too and have found no surefire workaround. However, what does seem to be more effective is if you set your wallpaper through the options in the settings menu and not through a launcher (like Nova for instance). It reduces the grainy quality of the lockscreen, but the image is still not the best.
I dont think its a bug, since in-display fingerprint reader needs a very bright light-source, the display itself will illuminate to the max for the fingerprint scanner to works, which is essentially the same as "sun-mode". In that mode, all color will look bad.
Same I felt it today...I faced then I went to shop they wiped out my data :3 when I setup my wallpaper and the fingerprint it's happening like before..and there's another bug on dark mode as well ,when you lower your brightness completely, the settings font will start its color fading :crying:

Auto mode actually gives a better contrast to the lock screen wallpaper than Advanced, I didn't realize. ?

Unfortunately, I don't think it's a bug either. What doesn't make sense to me is that the entire screen needs to have these washed colors for the fingerprint sensor to work. It's such a small part of the screen, why wash out everything?
I saw it too. I was using Advanced Color Gamut option. Then I switched to "Saturated" and it solved it.
Unfortunately that didn't work either.
Strange thing is that it doesn't happen on my 9T Pro.

I have no idea why tho.. Im guessing maybe it have something to do with "Sun mode" kinda "overclock" the entire display when fingerprint-reader need to, and then switch back to normal display mode right after.
But that kinda defeats one of the OLED key-strength, being able to lights-up individual pixel instead of lighting whole screen. Doesnt make sense to me either..
We need to report this from the miui developer guys its so annoying especially when you're in a dark room or room with lights off

Can we report this on miui devs? cuz its so annoying

If you used other Xiaomi devices you'd know it didn't happen before.. I hope it's not a hardware thing.
Disabled my fp at least for now. Can't enjoy a brand new phone with these washed out colours.
Ahhh. So it's not just mine lol. I played with so many different settings trying to fix this crap. I gave up lol

I agree with you, as this behaviour didnt happen on my Mi 9T Pro, although I suspect it could have caused by both "sun-mode" and Xiaomi decision to use white-light for fp illumination instead of turquoise-like color on previous model. Im still using it, for convenience anyway.
In my experience it is just happened with gamut color option, with other color option it is no issue. My super mars wallpaper look amazing.
I'm not long into the world of Xperia phones and find the display settings quiet overwhelming. Actually I stick with the creator mode but the colors looking washed out.
Can someone give advice for a good setting?
Much thanks.
I had the observation as you. Switched back to standard mode. Thought the creator mode will give better color but somehow didn't look that way.
I also asked the question in the Xperia subreddit. Someone wrote a setting to test. In the display settings toggle standard mode and the white values with manuel settings as follows: Red 66, green 39 and blue 0. So far it looks really good and I stick with this until someone comes with a better setting. You can try this and would like to see a feedback from you.

Tried this. It does look better. Black is darker. I will stick to this setting for now as well. Thanks.
