S6 NAND Write Operation Failed SM-G920F - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
On my S6 all of a sudden I got the blue screen saying that I need to connect it with Smart Switch for a Recovery. Smart Switch wont recognize the S6. So I tried with Odin to flash a new stock firmware but I keep getting NAND Write Operation Failed after boots.img.
This phone hasnt been used for several months, but I want to recover it because there are very valuable holiday photos on it. So the internal memory cant be wiped. I a hoping that flashing a stock rom will make the phone boot again.

I have tried various stock roms and also various usb cables. The phone was last used in the 1st week of october, so the first rom (6.0.1.) I tried to flash was the lastest prior to it (september). After that I tried August and then I jumped in time to January because I read about a rollback isnt possible. After January (the last month for 6.0.1) I decided to try the latest stock rom avaible for 7.0.
My phone is unbranded but just incase I also tried the 3 branded roms for my country (the netherlands) for vodafone, T-Mobile and Ben. All tried roms gave the same response as stated above.
I also tried to unpack the tar file and use TarCreator to create a separate Tar file for each .img. Then flash them 1 by 1 in Odin. But again the same Nand write error is given.
Odin versions that I used: 1.85 and 1.10.6
Things I didnt try yet:
Pit I kept the Pit empty on Odin. After some research it still wasnt clear to me if using a stock Pit file would not wipe the internal memory.
I hope some here could clarify that. And if I can safely use a Pit file, do i then 1st run the pit file, restart Odin and then flash the Rom. Or can i just enter them both at the same time/session?
BootloaderI found some info that said that boatloader might be corrupted? Again also about that I couldnt find a clear answer if it would wipe the internal memory. Also I am not sure where to find good boatloader files.
I've spend now 3 days on google searching solutions and trying different roms and I dont know what to try next. I hope one of the experts on this forum might know another solution or can give a clear answer on the Pit or Boatloader options.
Kind regards.

Thanks! Somehow I was under the assumption that 3,18 was higher but I see the mistake now.

After boot.img the phone turns off black screen, then goes back to the smart switch recovery screen. Gave it a few more tries and tried with Auto Boot enable and disabled. After the last attempt the phone screen stays black, even when plugged into the charger
Also Ive noticed that the right side of the phone now gets very hot when plugged in.

The screen still stays black. The phone wont even turn on anymore :/

Flashing stock will wipe your data anyway. There is a chance it won't format your internal storage though. If there is VERY important data, you should go to a professional data recovery service.

Really sad about your problem bro.... something wrong with the procedure or your firmware.. there are many cases like you.. you can refer to :

but it is up to you to give it a try. Luckily for me, I did not encounter the same problem like yours while flashing with pc odin. I prefer using mobile odin. it is safe and easy. Good luck bro...
I am having the same issue on my P6810 (16gb). I cannot use the emergency recovery in Kies because I don't have the recovery code that it asks for (I bought the device as used faulty so don't know the update history). When I try to use the firmware upgrade / initialisation function to reset the tablet, Kies downloads the firmware but fails to connect to the tablet when I plug it in (in download mode, which I can access).
I have tried flashing a downloaded firmware using Odin3 v1.85 and it appears to start okay and copies cache.img but quickly hangs at the factoryfs.img stage.
I have tried different both win7x64 and winXP PCs with no success. I did try Heimdall, which uses a different USB driver, and while I did not have an appropriate Heimdall compatible firmware to flash, I was able to get a display of the current PIT information, so the tablet was communicating OK.
Does my device need repartitioning? I have seen many references to a PIT file, but don't know where to download it from.
This seems to be a common problem from what I can tell so far.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Hello i have the same problem. I read all of your suggestions and guess that should be use a pit-file. Is this overwrite a system. I have troubled ROM compiled and want to install the new one downloaded from sammobiles fo my country. Am I right? Please help me?

USB debugging is on and Odin does recognize the device is connect, I have also already installed the drivers again just to be sure. I have used Odin before with no trouble maybe its the fact the phone is from sprint and on lollipop since sprint is stingy on unlocking -_-. If someone could point me in the right direction or 100% working firmware links I'd appreciate it. I have also tried going about this through Heimdall and failed not even being able to obtain the pit file. If someone could provide a working one I'd also appreciate it I am fully aware it may brick the phone as everything else may do. Or show me the me the step by step to flash with Heimdall with a .tar. I'll take any advice thank you
you can try the newer firmware ok4
maybe this will work . unzip and place md5 in ap slot of odin

I have the same problem myself and it took me a few minutes to realize what the problem is. I just got a new phone from Sprint because my other one the USB port was basically broken I couldn't connect or charge. So after a few failed attempts at flashing a ROM I decided to look at my firmware and realized that it was the new updated bog1 version. Sprint decided to lock all the boot loaders so as of this moment I don't know how to flash any ROM or downgrade as the bootloader will not let you. As a matter of fact just last night I was walking into Walmart I pulled my phone out of my pocket to look at it and it was just finishing up installing some security policy updates. My phone then immediately restarted and got stuck at the spark screen. Just the fact that I was rooted sent my phone into a boot loop. As of right now the only thing I can do is reflash the stock bog 1. I have managed to get access to this one and I'm working on modifying the bootloader in anyway I can. I'm a little newer to this but I catch on pretty quick. As of now I have all the permissions unlocked for me to access all the files in that stock bog1 rom but haven't found a way to make them stick yet. I'm going to have to break down each individual file and hopefully I can come up with a solution or anybody for that matter because I'm a few months away from my contract being up and if I can't root my phone and customize it I don't want it. If they want my phone lock down and toddler mode then they can pay for it that's how I look at it lol. Make sure you turn off automatic security updates. There's also a post in here of how to clean that out so you don't have the newest security policy update. I know the exact file the bootloader is in but haven't found a way to get into it or modify it yet even though I have permission. It shows it copying /deleting but doesnt change. There is way too many people in this world to not have someone come up with a solution by now and anytime I search for it I get results from a year to five years ago , hardly anything recent thanks google. I also posted on times and started a thread I'm trying but I'm not as advanced as some of these developers on here but I am determined lol
I finally got it to boot up. Just took like 20 mins. Now it boots sometimes while others it won't and says process has stopped responding after the yellow screen. Why does it do this. The rom is official rom directly off Samsung kids.
may have cracked bootloader BOG1 G900P
i have been playing in thr sys files and today i managed to get a custom animation boot installed. after that i flashed a modded bog1 file from philz. it took and succesfully booted and am now reinstalling all my apps. i think i over wrote or blocked my bootloader. ill get back when i know for sure:laugh:

Boot Loop Even After Reset

Hey guys, so my phone has been going in to boot loops. I would put it in recovery mode and clear the cache partition, that would get it to stop sometimes. Finally I did a factory reset. Now when its trying to set up my phone, it boot loops in the middle of that. So I used ODIN and tried to reinstall the firmware (OJ7), which was successful, but I'm back to boot loops during the phone set up process. Any ideas what to do next?

Have you did any modifications?
I installed an app on my phone that works in collaboration with a game. The app requires the phone to be rooted, but after researching the process to root a phone and the risk of voided Knox on 5.1.1 I decided against it and uninstalled the app. Its possible the app may have done something. But besides that there has not been any mods installed on my phone.
What causes the constant rebooting? Do I possibly have corrupted files that can be replaced with the recovery system? Any ideas would be helpful.

Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000 Stuck in Bootloop, Can't Access Recovery

Hello all,
My tablet note 10.1 N8000 (3G, Wi-Fi, 16 GB) suddenly got stuck in bootloop. I was not trying to flash anything when it did so, nor did I flashed anything recently before the bootloop (although it seemed to constantly freeze before the bootloop when trying to switch between my two whatsapp accounts that I have using Titanium Backup which allows creating more than one account in all apps).
I did however root the device when I bought it in 2012 and it was the only time I did so, and I still have USB debugging mode on.
The device would bootloop in the first Samsung logo most of the time, but on rare occasions it would move to the second animated logo and get stuck repeating the animation forever.
I can only access Odin Download mode, but cannot access recovery mode (when I try to do so, it shows the first Samsung logo, then attempts to go into recovery but only shows a lit black screen then reboots).
Here are the steps I did (might help some of you, but unfortunately didn't help me):
1) I tried flashing a custom recovery (CMW, Philz touch, TWRP, and stock recovery) through Odin (Odin 3 version v3.10.6):
- Put the .tar file in AP slot then put device in download mode (power key + volume down), then plug device into my computer.
- Check only auto restart and F. time reset.
- Here's what it says after flashing:
Code:

2) I tried flashing stock rom through Odin:
(Roms I tried: N8000XXCMF1, N8000XXUDOF1, N8000XWALG7, N8000XXCMA2, N8000XXUDOF1)
- I put the .tar.md5 file in AP and follow same steps above, here's what Odin says after flashing:

3) I tried following the post here:

I followed everything until the part where I have to access recovery (because I could not access recovery still to flash rom from recovery). Here's what it says in Odin after it's done:
Code:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> I9300_Repair_efs.tar.md5 is valid.

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
But again it did not work even though it always says "PASS"! And I also tried flashing stock rom after trying this method through Odin, shows success but still stuck in bootloop.
I don't know what else to try really. I will not take it to support to fix it, either I fix it myself or use it as a cutting board.
If anyone has any ideas please reply. I'm sure there are more things to try.
EDIT:
- Is there a way to clear cache without accessing recovery (since I can't access it)? Lots of people say it worked after clearing cache.
- Is Nand erase all an option? I wish someone would explain it in details instead of telling me not to do it without saying exactly why.
- Could the problem be in hardware? How can I know if so?

So you mean that it will erase everything even the Odin download mode and the Samsung logo? Why would they include this option then? I don't see any practical use of it :/
No help?

Odin is a tool that we are able to borrow .
You could try recovery via KIES .

HI RHAddict,
It happened to my Note GT-N8000, if a Hardware failure. If you send to SAMSUNG service center it will cost u around US$ 200 for motherboard replacement. But i manage to find a mobile service center, the technician said it only 1 of the chip in motherboard out of service. I got my tablet fixed just US$ 50-60. Now is working as is it before.
TQ
My Samsung 8010 has just gone exactly the same way. Cannot enter recovery mode, just get a blank lit screen for a second then goes back into a reboot cycle and never gets past the Samsung logo. Did you get anywhere with fixing it, or have you given up? Was thinking of taking mine to a service centre, but probably not worth it?

Can't load J700p into bootloader

So i recently flashed lineage 14.1 j7ltespr to my J700p, and the rom loaded up fine, but it won't recognize the sim card. As this is my daily driver that can't be the case, so i tried to flash a stock rom back on. I think i could get it to work, but the phone won't boot into bootloader anymore.
It has the most recent version of twrp for the model. And it will system boot, and boot recovery just fine. But when i try to boot loader, it just gives me a charging symbol, and freezes. I've been trying to fix this anyway i can for the last 12 hours.
I also tried adb, and odin. Odin gives me an auth error every time i try to load a stock rom. If anyone could help, i'd be very appreciative.
I'd take fixing the sim not found, the bootloader not coming up, or the NAND Write Start!! FAIL! (Auth) error
thank you for your time

Thank you peter for the advice. I tried what you suggested. Still no luck. Here is the output of the odin runs, they were all identical though i tried different roms, 3 different versions of odin, root on and off, as well as with debugging on and off. Same out put every time.

But before all that make shore debugging is on an make shore you are using a Samsung usb cord best the one that came with the phone ! An use Odin 3.12.5 or older 3.13.01 doesn't work right for that phone !!! PS make the firmware file isn't mest up ! Get the latest firmware file !
