USB Tethering Problem on 6045O Idol 3 - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
As per the rules in this section i have tried searching for other USB tethering issues and I found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/help/usb-tethering-t3352376
His solution was to use easy tether, this can't work for me as I am tethering to a Router. I have tried clockwork-mod, PDA Net and easy tether, and they are not compatable with my ASUS RT-AC56R.
Here is some information about my Idol 3:
TWRP: LUX 3.0.2-r5 for Alcatel idol 3
Device Model: 6045O
CyanogenMod version: 12.1-20160715-UNOFFICIAL-idol3
Android Version: 5.1.1
Kernel Version:
3.10.49-gac18c2b-dirty

Build Number: cm_idol3-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY49j73aa3e58e3 test-keys
Partitions and Sizes ( from TWRP ):
Aboot(1MB), Boot(32MB), Recovery(32MB), System(771MB), Data(4386MB), Cache(0MB)
Modem(50MB), Modemst1(3MB), Fsg(1MB), Persist (0MB), Misc(1MB), Splash(16MB)
Hyp(0MB), Tz(0MB), Rpm(0MB), Sbl1(0MB)
Here is what works:
Bluetooth Tethering
WiFi HotSpot
Easy Tether to my PC
PDANet to my PC ( actually bought the app it works well in all other cases )
ClockWork-Mod tether to PC
What does not work is:
Native USB Tethering
SD card totally broke not even showing in TWRP
Specifically when i plug the phone into the router with MTP or PTP not charge only and attempt to toggle USB tethering it says "USB connected, Check to Tether" I tap the switch and it disappears for a second and then shows up again, not enabling USB tethering.
I don't know if i need to upgrade to a different ROM or if i need to re-flash the modem but any information, suggestions or thoughts on what I can do at this point will be greatly appreciated

ROM Problem. You'll have to upgrade.

[Q] ZTE Blade: data connection (GPRS) fails to start

Hi,
It is already for some time that I can't enable the data connection on my ZTE Blade. When I toggle "Data connection" in the settings menu it just doesn't do anything - up and down arrows representing a connection do not show up. It was working before.
Technical details:
Firmware: JOHN77_AIO5 (built from CyanogenMod Green V4)
Android 2.3.4
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf
My question is: is there any option I can debug this through adb or by any other mean? I am a developer (not JAVA, though) - so it is not going to be a problem.
I assume that flashing the device with fresh firmware will solve the problem, bu I don't want to go the easy way

[q] unable to download files by internet tethering when connected to pc via usb cable

Hi,

Whenever I try to download any file, nothing happens, my IDM(Internet Download Manager application) stays idle. It says "connecting" but never download (But I can able browse without any problem). Please help me out on this.
BRAND: Micromax
MODEL: A60

FIRMWARE VERSION: 2.1 update1
BASEBAND VERSION: A60_I_TSACD044

[Q] Adventures in OTG trying to connect 2 devices

I have already hooked up mass storage to the nexus 4. I checked usb debugging and MTP on both devices also checked OTG box in synapses for the nexus 4. Next if possible I want to hook 2 devices up through an OTG power Y cable and push and pull files with ADB essentially taking out the PC for when I mess up and have to flash a new OS. (I have access to a PC just bored looking for a different way)
The first device is a rooted nexus 4.
ROM: dirty unicorns v9.1 android 5.0.2
Kernel version: 3.4.106-hells-doctor-FrAndroid
The second device is a Samsung galaxy tab pro
Stock android OS KitKat v4.4
When I think Samsung is the host the nexus 4 shows up as a keyboard and mouse. How can I make the Samsung recognize the nexus 4 as a device??
When I switch the cables around the Samsung notification shows a media device connected but I can't find it. The Nexus 4 notification shows USB Debugging with the little monster. This is a learning process for me so if I forgot any vital info please let me know so I can quickly update. Thanks for the help and guidance.

Ethernet / LAN support on Redmi Note 7 Pro

Hi all,
I would like to ask question regarding Ethernet / LAN support on RN7Pro device.
Currently, I tried use brand UGreen Ethernet Gigabit + USB 3.0 Hub with USB Type C converter.
However, my device ( MIUI EU beta rom 9.12.12 , Kernel 4.14.81-perf+) not detect the LAN connection when plugged in.
I've tried use on other android device (mibox 3 - tv box), it works fine.

Is there any solution to let this LAN/Ethernet works fine with RN7pro devices?
Is this related to ROM or Kernel on device?
Appreciate input from you guys.
Not sure about wired connection, but I have no problem connecting from wifi to LAN. Are you trying to connect to a Windows PC, laptop?

What do you mean by "WiFi To LAN". The OP asks if it's possible to use a Ethernet to Type C adaptor on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The stock kernel of RN7Pro does not include (or not enabled) drivers for Ethernet connectivity.
However, custom rom for example, https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-violet-pixel-experience-stable-official.4200603/ has ethernet support in the kernel dtbo. And ethernet worked fine for me on this ROM.
Ethernet is a healthy option instead of having wifi radiation around, at least for some satisfaction.
PS|: Please be warned that one must OEM unlock (First in developer settings and then in fastboot, Using MI flash unlock tool) the device to be able to install custom rom. Otherwise device may get bricked.

Question Mobile Hotspot / Wifi tethering broken after A13 Feb 2023 Update

Hello everyone,
since I've updated and rooted my P7Pro (with PixelFlasher tool) to the TQ1A.230205.002 the hotspot I create is not working anymore.
If I start the hotspot there is no error but if I try to connect to that hotspot from an other device (doesn't matter what for a device) it can't connect to it. The only exception is if I connect there from my Windows PC - it's connected but says "not internet".
Am I the only one with that problem ? Hopefully someone knows how to fix this ?
Thanks
