Hey all, so I got the new Samsung update downloaded to my phone, but I haven't installed it, I don't want to. I found a way to clear the notification from appearing on the AOD, but the icon is still on the status bar, is there a way to remove it from there or delete the update from my phone? It's gotta be stored somewhere.

You can purchase Package Disabler Pro from the Play Store and there are 4 packages you need to disable.
Security Policy Updates
Software updates
and I believe there are two System updates

Hi guys,
I keep getting an irritating green plus sign pop up on my notification bar telling me I need to install some app called "Battery Upgrade Plus".
This then goes on to tell me how to enable non-market apps and so on, so it can be installed.
Clearly this is a lot of old nonsense and it's probably malicious - a quick Internet search supports that theory, so obviously I'm not installing it.
But - can anyone tell me how to stop the stupid notification from constantly popping up?
Ta
It's an advertisment . Some apps post ads in your notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.denper.addonsdetector&hl=en
Download this and search for Airpush apps
And then remove it~

Thanks for the link. Turned out to be iOnroad lite. Shame really as that was an app of the week on The Register.
Teleported in from my HTC Sensation Z710e.
As the title asks. I have tried pushing the files to the system, but I the note 7 AOD will not work as is with our phone. Anyone know how to get this working for us? be sure to make a back up of original before attempting.
a little insite on what I have tried.
I have tried just replacing the files in the necessary folder under /data/app using root Explorer, then restarting the phone. this method just makes AOD crash and does not work at all.
I then restored the original AOD, then tried to just install the updated apk. This obviously did not work, the updated apk wouldn't install since it's a system file.
next I removed the folder com.samsung.android.app.aodservice-1 then created a new folder with the same name and put the updated files into ita do restarted the phone. this did not work either. same result as the first attempt. then I installed the new apk normally then restarted the phone. same result as the first attempt, but this time there were two folders for AOD. there was com.samsung.android.app.aodservice-1 and com.samsung.android.app.aodservice-2.
i have made sure the permissions are set correctly but still cannot get this to work. any ideas?
I'd wait a little while. They'll probably update the AOD on the S7 after they launch the Note.
I'm pretty sure this version of AOD is dependent on the new version of TouchWiz
Maybe there are new updated AOD services on the Note, the lack of it maybe letting not it run on the S7...
I mean regardless we will get the update adding new features.(I hope xD b/c Samsung hasn't been listening to its customers lately)

we will more than likely get an update with the new AOD service, but the real question is when? With the note 7 being new I don't see us getting this any time soon. I hope I am wrong though.

I'm guessing we'll get it along with Android 7.0 Nougat
Just a heads up that Samsung pushed an AOD update to my Verizon S7 last night. It gives me more options for the display configuration and adds an accent color option. It also shows current song and artist if using Samsung Music.

Awesome thank you. I'll give this a go when I get off of work.
So as soon as I got home and connected to my WiFi, the new aod we pushed to my phone from the Galaxy App Store.
Just found that AOD is set up for notification permission. Be sure to enable that and let me know if you notice any new notifications on the lock screen.
Settings - lock screen and security - other security settings - notification access

I'm at my whits end. My wife and I are both Google beta members. Same S7 Edge. Same version of the Google app and she has the customizable widget while I do not. I have tried everything. Uninstalling, updating, leaving and rejoining the beta, you name it. She did nothing. One day the three dot menu was there for her on the widget. I can't get it to happen on my S7 Edge.
Anyone else figure out how to make this happen? It's driving me crazy.

I heard its a very slow roll out (luck of the draw & youre unlucky).
Uninstall it then try this apk...if it's what you're looking for.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-7-14-15-release/
Update--tried it myself and it won't install. Even tried disabling it. I wonder if anyone with an S7 has got the update.

I got the update, but no three dots.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I've tried installing APK's found on various sites that were supposed to install the widget but it just ends up being the same search widget. No three dots like my wife's. I don't understand how two people, in the beta program, with the exact same device and the exact same version (7.14.18.21.arm64), don't both have the same widget. This is bizarre.
try to clear the data and everything from the application, then choose to disable the application manager, restart
Then, enable and update the app

Don't really want to do that. I don't want to have to configure it all again with what I like to see cards wise within Now as well as anything with the Assistant. I shouldn't have to reset everything to get the same widget my wife got with the same version of Google, without doing any of that. There has to be something we're missing here.
I also want to know how to get the 3 dots. Seems like there's no known fix

Tried this. Doesn't work
I've had three Google updates since I first posted this and I STILL do not have the customizable widget. WTF is Google doing?
No one? Did anyone else get the newly updated customizable widget? I've tried everything again. Uninstalling, reinstalling from links at various sites. Removing from beta, adding back. This is very frustrating.
Search bar customization
Same issue my wife and I both S7 edge have the customisation of option but my friend did the same procedure and he has an updated app but no customisation option I don't know why Google is doing this
I've had many updates to the Google app since I first posted this thread. Still no customizable widget. I guess Google is never going to release it to some people for some bizarre reason. I don't get their thinking on this. Why give it to some, update others, but don't include the customization???
what is the customisable widget? can i see a screenshot? now i want it too!
Hey still nothing for me too bruh.I want it too Friend in work who has S8 already use rounded version :/ **** is not fair.Google probably releasing this very slowly.Se we have to wait dudes
Any update for this thread? I had that rounded widget until today because i had to factory reset my s7 edge for various reasons and after that, widget dont let me customize it anymore. I have all google apps up to date and I joined to beta test but still nothing... Now I have different 3rd party google search, but I want that original to work again.. :/
Yup, I finally received it months ago. Just took time to show up.

Hello!
I installed Android Messages app on my Mi Mix 3 but notifications doesn't show up. I have tinkered all the settings on the notification and turned it on but still it doesn't show up. No floating notifications, no badges, no sounds. But the messages does come in. No issues if i'm using the stock messaging app and other sms apps, only on the android messages and I really want to use this app over other messaging app. Anybody here got the same problem or anyone knows any turnarounds for this?
TIA

If you are not on the dev Rom install that then allow auto start, priority notifications, and no battery restrictions.
Other option is to install the app to the system but you need root.

Push the app to become a system app if rooted
Why does this need root in order to get notifications and why did none of the reviewers I watch mention the HUGE issue?
I don't get notifications from; Hangouts, Android messenger (google), Steam, Discord and they are all set to high priority when available, at least whatsapp seems to work....
Still waiting on the 72 hour hold.

Chinese ROM has always been that way as it's for the Chinese.
A lot of those apps are designed to work with Google play services which also needs to be installed as a system app for it to work more effectively

I checked google play services, it is up to date as a system app. Enabled all notifications on it too.

Strange, usually global notifications work well especially with Google baked into global
Rooting and pushing to system app should still solve the problem unfortunately

I assumed that thread was Chinese, done same in this one so got mixed up.
Global usually works fine with notifications so it is strange. The global I flashed in December had perfect notifications, global on all my other Xiaomi phones worked fine so surprised it has issues.
In developer settings, go to bottom and turn off "MIUI 10 Optimization"
works perfect

Is this for the Chinese or Global ROM?
I'm on the Global ROM, not seeing any OTA update as of now.
And I'm experiencing similar problems with notifications (Google Hangouts, Telegram, etc.) on the stock Global ROM 10.0.11.0 PEEMIFH
and surely you have changed optional/other permissions for notifications, yes?

Glad I'm not the only one. After checking I couldn't find the app installed anywhere so I just ignored it. Not sure how you can update an app that isn't installed! ??* I was only twitchy because I've disabled some system apps. Anyone else had any problems?
Carousel isn't an app as such. Apparently it's a lock screen thing.
I haven't disabled or uninstalled it either....but can't update still. Will just ignore it
Update system broken to in firmware region Indonesia (ID). Will change to Global after UBL.

Got the update which wouldn't install or download for some reason. It got pulled the next day and it's not appearing anymore, must have been an issue on Xiaomi's side.
