Battery Upgrade Plus (Bad!) - HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
I keep getting an irritating green plus sign pop up on my notification bar telling me I need to install some app called "Battery Upgrade Plus".
This then goes on to tell me how to enable non-market apps and so on, so it can be installed.
Clearly this is a lot of old nonsense and it's probably malicious - a quick Internet search supports that theory, so obviously I'm not installing it.
But - can anyone tell me how to stop the stupid notification from constantly popping up?

It's an advertisment . Some apps post ads in your notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.denper.addonsdetector&hl=en
Download this and search for Airpush apps
And then remove it~

Thanks for the link. Turned out to be iOnroad lite. Shame really as that was an app of the week on The Register.

Ads in notifications menu!! Help!!

Somehow my phone number was entered into some phonespy thing, idk u can search it or their home web page is mossi.com , anyways for the last two days I've been getting this logo that appears on the status bar, its a red star in a white circle if you want to know but it doesnt matter. It's an ad and must go. So when I see it I pull down the status bar, it might be a sense thing idk, htc sensation if its important. Well here's the part that is important, in bold it says phonespy, and in regular text it says "to optout go to ....." I can only see half of the url!!!! And when I click on it my browser opens up to one of their pages with more ads and no option to opt out. Is there a way to view old notifications? Or at least next time when I get one because I know I will to view the notification in full????
Please if anyone can help it would save me from throwing my phone against the wall and spamming the email I found during a whois search. Jk. But help would be greatly appreciated.

Best guess,
Look at the apps you've installed in the last little while. The notification bar adds are probally coming from one of them. Any apps that were non-market installed...more than likely from them.
I've got a widget from 'best apps market' (availible in the android market) that shows last 5 apps installed and options to remove, etc.
If the adds are being txted to you then try blocking the phone number.
Best of luck.
Edit: I did have an app spam me, it was a tetris type game. Had the 'extra space' so as to not be copywrite sued (world tetris??)....uninstalled soon after and they've left me alone.

hi, I had the same problem you write about... I solved it!!! ;-)
that notification is due to an add-on of "hide it pro"... " Addon #1 ".
if you have disinstalled "hide it pro", look for it in the play store and you find it in "Other Applications" and than disinstall it!
excuse for my english (...very poor!!!) try this way and if you have some problems write me!
Hey I ended up finding this out a few weeks ago. Thank you though! That was exactly it.

do everyone have this bug??please help
me to
It is not bug, it is Oreo feature. You can get rid of it by downloading some apps, I am using AutoNotification. And here is a video: Youtube.
Dont forget to change "running in the background" for your language (I am using czech language so I had to write it in czech). Hope it helps.

ty very much it work finally it's gone
But why in the world do we need to install another stupid app, that will also be running in the background and using battery and other resources, to stop a stupid notification that we have apps running in the background using battery and other resources???? WHo lost their mind here and decided that this notification is a good idea??? Why can it not be toggled off if we do not want it??? I am getting really tired of the constant stupidity of Android!

Very interesting project!
Do you think that it is possible to hide the notification bar indicated in screenshot?
Thank you
It would be interesting to know what this app does differently from the built-in Android feature that lets user block any notification swiping it and going to the cogwheel.

That is one problem I wanted to solve. Those buttons will be hidden once you get rid of all undismissable notifications. Though I don't directly modify the status bar. Check my screenshot.

There are lots of notifications that you cannot swipe away or hide from the cogwheel like "USB connected", you can snooze for max of 2hrs but not permanently. That is what this app is trying to solve, let users hide them permanently.

Yeah that's gonna happen, but at least you can swipe SMS notification away and all is good again. I know not ideal situation. If you want those buttons to be hidden permanently I believe Substratum might be able to do something.
@HorstiG I've updated the app which should fix the issue. Please let me know how it works for you.

I haven't figured out yet why it's not allowing to buy from XDA installs. Google might have added some metadata which prevents it. I'm looking into it, meanwhile get it from the play store . Sorry for the confusion.

TidyPanel is using battery
Hi.
Great app.
No issues, other than one, in the notification panel I see a constant message of "1 app is using battery: TidyPanel"
This is on Samsung Galaxy S8+ running latest Oreo
I can hide it, but just wanted to verify that there's no battery abuse using this

Absolutely no battery abuse. That's standard android thing. Check battery usage and you should not see the app listed (in which case the battery usage is less than 1%). In case you see abnormal battery usage let me know.
