You have to unlock the bootloader to gain access to flash or boot via fastboot
Edit : You've to change RECOVERY.img by your recovery name

Dead(?) device

Hi,
I have some serious problem with my Desire S. My recovery is probably broken, TWRP logo pops up but that the phone just reboots. After deleting cache and flashing new recovery I´m unable to boot my device, stuck on CM logo. My hardware keys never worked for booting to botloader. Is there any other way to recover my device? I tried fastboot reboot and adb after powering on the device but nothing.

Can you post your boot info? Hboot?S-ON or S-OFF?
You can access fastboot? And write without errors?
Try 4ext recovery but first when you download check md5 for file.

Boot ur phone into fastboot and put the recovery.img inside ur fastboot folder on ur pc (make sure u rename ur recovery file "recovery.img) plug in ur phone and type this command.
fastboot boot recovery.img
See if that boot u into recovery then u can try flash a rom from there. I posted latest 4ext recovery in desire s general thread, look for that and try the above command using 4ext recovery

EDIT: I booted 4ext recovery in safe mode, wiped all and it fixed that. Thank you so much.

Did you try flashing recovery from fastboot mode? If not, try following the instructions on the TWRP website (minus the "adb reboot bootloader" part, of course).

Did you try flashing the kernel? I can verify that the Optimus kernel and the TWRP from the Multirom thread work, so I'd recommend trying that combination.

The MultiROM TWRP itself doesn't install multirom, I just know it works, while some other recovery images don't. You will be able to flash a different recovery once you fix your problem.
I forgot that a kernel can't be readily flashed via fastboot... You should try downloading a stock firmware package and flashing at least boot and system.

Hello, W1F1. There is no way at this point in time to root Project Spectrum on Oppo R7Plus as TWRP isnt compatible. They changed a lot when they made Project Spectrum. For now there is no TWRP. So there is no way to root. It's Fastboot is also set to non-root access making is hard to use the command (fastboot flash recovery _TWRP-HERE_) but not impossible to flash the stock recovery and then ColorOS to get back to safety (by safety I mean CyanogenMod 14.1 [OFFICIAL] or AICP [UNOFFICIAL]). All you need to do is ask and I'll give you the links.

Recovery:http://goo.gl/1AdXkD
ROM:https://s3.amazonaws.com/public.opp...olorOS/Specified_ColorOS_R7plusf_full_014.zip
0. Move all files to external MicroSD card *rename the ROM to update.zip*
1. Flash the recovery.img to recovery partition. With (fastboot flash recovery "recovery.img) *remember to put the recovery.img file in the ADB and Fastboot file for easier transfer*
2. Reboot into the system recovery and select Update, then go to where you put your ROM and select it
3. Wait for it to flash and then reboot
4. Your reboot will hang. Leave it do that for about 5 minutes, then reboot into fastboot mode again.
5. Seeing as you are now on a ROM with an unlocked bootloader you will be able to now flash TWRP recovery with the command (fastboot flash recovery "TWRPRECOVERYNAME") *I used TWRPRECOVERYNAME as an example as to where the recovery file needs to go. You should also have this in the ADB and Fastboot folder*

Ok I'm still having an issue. The flashing of the recovery goes through successfully but when I try to enter recovery mode it simply shows the Oppo logo and the screen goes black. Like it's been doing with all the recovery's that I've tried. If I try the "fastboot boot recovery.img" it has this error:

downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.485s]
booting...

After flashing recovery, type (fastboot reboot) Before you press enter, hold down the Volume - button (on the phone) and simultaneously press enter. You should then be able to boot to stock recovery
JUST REMEMBER TO NOT BOOT BACK INTO SPECTRUMOS. This will reset the recovery partition as it locks it on boot

Sadly no all it does is show the Oppo logo, and then when it should show the recovery screen it just goes black. I think it's something to do with the DTB error before.

Update:
Bad news: Unfortunately my phone is now stuck in a boot loop.
Good news: Using a recovery provider by the user "Ricky" on the first page of this thread: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=46395&extra=&page=1 I have been able to flash the stock recovery and it is now working. Because of the boot loop problem I am reinstalling Spectrum through recovery to try and get out of that, then hopefully I will be able to flash back to Color OS if the boot loop stops.

Is it just the boot animation continuously playing? If so, this is when you need to turn off your phone and right as the screen goes off press and hold the volume + button. This will put you back in fastboot. Once you are there flash the TWRP recovery. After that hold the volume - and type fastboot reboot. This will boot you to TWRP recovery

Mmmm , better to use command
"fastboot boot recovery recovery.img"
If
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Can be dangerous if recovery isn't built from source and the port is bad ...if port works using "boot" command maybe try to flash it ...
But I found another recovery to use as a base for my port , thanks !
*Also my BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED BY VODAFONE*
So anyways my port will be useless...

Yes , they have worked for me in the past but on other phones. Your bootloader must be unlocked and remember to use the command without the quotation marks ..""
*You should also rename your recovery to recovery.img AND VERY IMPORTANTLY put it in your adb or fastboot tools root folder.
Then if you installed adb and run a command window BUT FROM INSIDE the tools folder where the recovery image is and run the following commands one by one it will work if your drivers are installed and your bootloader is unlocked
adb devices
*Return a serial number for your phone in window
adb reboot bootloader
*phone should boot into bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
*will unlock your bootloader if you press volume up
fastboot boot recovery recovery.img
*The recovery should boot ( if it boots and you can make a backup to SD card successful ly
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

You need to use a patched boot.img to get root on this device as there is no fastboot. There are guides online on how to use magisk to patch the boot.img and then flash that to your phone. That will give you permanent root after which you will be able to install twrp. If you flash twro without root or a patched boot it will remove it each time you boot up.
