Cool man...
A stable stock rom with that awesome kernel of yours.. Great work bro!!
@rainforce279 if someone wants to install this rom then can he clean flash directly from N to this or he might take any special recommendation?
Edit: I mean any chances for bricking.

nothing chances to bricking since this rom not included restricted file such as modem file or bootloader file,
i'm using this rom+kernel with along bootloader lollipop no such problem.
you can flash this rom even you on android N, atleast if you on official lollipop from motorola, you need flash modem file kitkat 4.4.4., but make sure you never downgrade bootloader.
many case moto e died (bricked) bcause user upgrade to lollipop ofcourse bootloader upgraded too,
to avoid brick, so i've saw a thread that said you can downgrade to kitkat 4.4.4 but do not downgrade your bootloader,
i try it and yeah not bricked till now.
@rainforce279 will it be flashable through Latest twrp 3.1.1.0 or I have to go back to older version of twrp?

You can flash it on any TWRP version. I was on twrp v3.1.1 and flashed this ROM, no issues.
I want to test the rom, but i don't know how to install. I am on Pure Nexus, i install it when i was on lollipop stock version, so i have the lollipop bootloader. No risk to hard brick?? The RIL (Mobile Signal) will work?

nah, its similiar with my case,
i've try stock ota lollipop 5.1.1 from motorola, when i check bootloader is upgraded to lollipop bootloader, so i searching thread how to downgrade it to kk 4.4.4, some one in this forum told me you can downgrade it to kk 4.4.4 but dont flash or downgrade bootloader, if you downgrade bootloader your device will hard brick.
so far i'm in lollipop bootloader,
and i've test many rom such as lineage13/14, slim 6/7, aex nougat, and als this rom with kernel no problem so far, you can try this, make sure your bootloader not downgraded, also make sure you've flash modem file kk 4.4.4.
this rom not included any strickted file such as nonhlos.bin or similiar file,
i just put system and boot.img only, for make sure safe for every condor user.

yes you can take it from stock firmware, modem file is named "NON-HLOS.bin" after flash you need to erase modemst1 & modemst2, its safe for flashing make sure correct with your region.
and bootloader is named "gpt.bin" and "motoboot.img" this never safe for flashing if you at lollipop bootloader.

no risk to flash non-hlos.bin by fastboot for moto e, it a just modem file but make sure you flash correct file with your device and firmware.
is possible make this more great? ( fssync control, cm11, no gaaps, tweaks, etc)
If I install it from android N will I have to flash modem file later? If so it must extraced from stock 4.4. Right?
As for stagefright, is this rom free from this security fail?

no need to flash modem file if you not yet flash or upgrade to stock 5.x.x, other mean you still on kk modem.
about security i'm not sure its free or not from vulnerable, since kitkat is old os.

looks great
Guys my power button dead. I removed it manually so I need volume button feature like in mokee and lineage roms. Is that feature or any same alike feature available in this rom?

It already says it works on both - beware on flashing this though. When I did it I forgot to wipe the data and i ended up with a bootloop (my own fault) but I couldn't even get back into recovery to restore it. It doesn't look like this ROM allows you to boot into recovery (although that could just have been a side effect the bootloop situation - Not sure how though). I had to leave my phone like that till I could flash another boot image from my pc.

I managed to flash this ROM after changing the 'updater-script' as mentioned here --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762
I'm facing an issue that now I'm not able to boot into TWRP recovery. I tried installing the recovery again from fastboot but not able to get into recovery. Any help?

idk for z3+ but maybe there is a bootloader upgrade too which will allow you to boot into recovery with bootloader instead of recovery in boot.

Also you can try to empty your recovery partition, then kernel will use the builtin one.
If someone can confirm z3+ boot process is the same one as z3.
@Kungencortes, what is bluetooth bug?
You can boot to recovery via, fastboot boot recovery.img.

Resolved Twrp recovery by holding volume down + power button while restarting and then pressing volume up. Not sure what combination works, but I can get to Twrp!
ROM is fluid and great as a initial version!
Some bugs:
# live display not working.
# lowest brightness too bright.
I'm enjoying the smoothness of stock UI on this almost dead device. Thanks Dev. I'm sticking around on this ROM. :good:

I'm a bit amazed by the continuous support from OPPO, and especially the security patches integrated in those updates. I was not expecting this from this brand. This is part of what's preventing me from completely switching to LineageOS. This is my only smartphone and I need it to just work.
Now I wish I can unroot my phone, lol
You can, I did it.
The simplest method:
- copy ColorOS & Project Spectrum zips provided by OPPO
- boot in fastboot mode
- Install stock recovery with fastboot
- Reboot to recovery
- Install Project Spectrum
- Reboot to recovery
- Install ColorOS
You should be stock, relocked.

But where can I get stock recovery?
You can extract recovery.img from the ColorOS zip.
If someone were to flash this via twrp. When they have followed this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/op...pdates-rooted-unlocked-devices-t3395034/page8
They would loose twrp and lose he unlocked bootloader correct?
This zip is only for OPPO*recovery, not for TWRP. It needs to be modified. If modified, I don't think recovery or unlocked state would change as recovery is not included in the original zip.

The update zip does contain and flash the locked bootloader(emmc_appsboot.mbn) and also the update zips never contain a recovery.img but do have a script(install_recovery.sh) and patches that patch the latest recovery onto latest boot.img and flash it to recovery. So, yes, flashing it will lock everything down. Modifying it to remove bootloader and recovery is easy enough( I'm happy to do it) but it will also check the current build version on the phone before flashing and refuse to flash unless the rom has been updated to the "896" level, which I have never seen an update zip to go from 894 to 896 (891-894 is the newest update I have seen posted till now). There is a new download of full rom available for the 896 version which could also be modified to install from twrp without bootloader and recovery but it does require a full wipe. If enough people want it, I guess it would be good to have a more up to date full clean install of colouros.
Do you think it's worth the effort?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
What's the catch, we have Official LOS builds?:
These are home baked builds of LineageOS with full Substratum support. It supports the rootless operations of Substratum as well as all of its features. It will be Pure LineageOS and as such, bug reporting won't work for this one.
All the bugs that you face will either be of LineageOS or if any themeing one than it would be from Substratum. [Well there aren't any as of now]. Builds will be either weekly or daily or as new changes merge in OR depending upon my upload to the server was successful or not.

Hi, recently purchased an already rooted shield tablet
running 7.0
software 5.0
TWRP 3.1.0
I would like to flash without PC (looks fine) is that doable?
I am also unsure if I need to flash a root method after flashing rom and gapps since I am already rooted?
What about any root ad-ons like referenced in the official version?
thanks in advance (thank you button will be hit!)

So do I need to flash a root zip to re-gain root after flashing this rom? I am already rooted so I am confused about this process. And the root add-ons seem to be useful and/or necessary with LOS official roms, there is a download link to add-on zip on page one of Steel01 official LOS thread.

Yes, to regain root you'll need to flash, and that root addon from LOS page will enable the inbuilt root access which can be found in development settings. If using that then no other is required to flash
Hey man, how would you go about building and merging OMS-7 for your ROM? I've been building myself a nice build of LineageOS for my OnePlus 5 with some extra mods but I haven't found out (properly) how to implement OMS yet.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi!
When I try flashing, it tells me that it needs bootloader version 4.0.0 ... but the only bootloader I can download on from webgeek1234 either give me bootloader version 3.1.1 or 4.0.1 ... so installation fails. Installing LineageOS 13.0 doesn't complain about bootloader...
Am I missing something?

Bootloader version doesn't match the stock rom version number. The bootloader it wants is the N or stock 5.0 one. I should probably make that more clear in my post...

Hi!
OK. So... how can I get, and how do I install the N bootloader on my SHIELD? I didn't see it documented.
Thanks!

Here? On th is thread? The only thing I see is :
ROM: LineageOS on the G Drive
GAPPS: use OpenGapps or any of your preferred choice, 7.1 ARM; pico preferred.
ROOT: see above
But nothing about bootloader. Another thread maybe?

I did same procedure as for versions 311 and 420 from webgeek1234 : put the zip on the SD. Boot to TWRP. Use the "install" function to install the ZIP. It works for 311 and 420... but when I do it with version 50... the output of the installation just says "succeded" and after, when trying to install Lineage, it says version unknown.

Unfortunately, I can't go on stock. The device is a device that was recalled for the battery issue (but this one's batter never even blinks towards a thermometer when even operating at full speed). So when I got the new device, I had to flash it with a non stock OS.
So I'm running one of the latest builds of Cyanogen before they went ballistic.
And if I go to stock, the machine will be bricked.

From the zip you have download extract the blob file, reboot your tablet to bootloader/ fastboot
and run this command
Code:
fastboot flash staging blob
this will update your bootloader to the latest N bootloader by Nvidia and hence the error will also be gone.
Hi everyone
Xiaomi added Anti roll-back to latest Stable/Beta ROMs and many users bricked their phones because of it, i unlocked my bootloader yesterdays and started testing everything about Anti, and here is what i found so far:
As of right now, anything Beta 8.7.6 and above has it, and for Stable 9.5.19.0 and above, check Xiaomi announcement about it, in 2nd post you will find the last Miui builds without Anti Roll-back
you can flash TWRP again
you can Root Anti ROMs with Magisk or Disable Encryption
you can switch from CN builds to Global builds or vise versa
you can switch between all anti 4 builds just fine, like from 8.7.12 to 9.5.19.0 or anything with anti 4
you can flash any AOSP/LOS based ROM
you can flash anti 4 fastboot ROMs
based on fastboot script we might get anti 5 in the future
how to bypass anti roll back lock in fastboot and flash/run anything
1- TWRP flashing method:
Boot Twrp or Redwolf using “fastboot boot XYZ.img”
Copy img to device then flash Image file of XYZ.img again from recovery.
Flash Lazyflasher Or Magisk
Or you can just flash any AOSP/LOS based ROM
or check #6 to unlock bootloader commands
2- Switching from CN Beta to Global Beta
Download Global Beta 8.7.12 Fastboot Here or Global Stable 9.5.19.0 Fastboot Here
Make sure to backup your data first
Run flash_all.bat to flash Global build and wipe everything
Wait for system to boot up, and everything should be fine
3- Flashing Custom ROMs
Flashing AOSP/LOS ROMs should be easy, flash twrp, wipe data & flash ROM
Flashing Miui based ROMs is a bit tricky, you have to make sure they didnt include bootloader inside the Zip, check for firmware-update inside Zip's before flashing or just ask other users
4- based on fastboot new script we might get anti 5 in the future, so dont keep flashing newer bootloader/modem unless ROM developer tell you to do so
here is how the new script works:
it check for Anti vlaue
if Anti is smaller than 4, then it flashes normally, but your device will be anti 4 also
if Anti is 4, it flashes dummy to anti roll-back pass, then proceed to flash ROM, after flashing is done you will have the same Anti 4 vlaues
if Anit is bigger than 4, like 5 or something else, the script will abort and tell you to get Anti 4 ROM
5- Unlocking Fastboot:
This method let you flash twrp or run fastboot commands again
Download fastboot-unlock-anti-4-whyred from attachments or Drive
Flash from fastboot running this command
fastboot flash antirbpass dummy.img
Now flash twrp, run any fastboot command

So, I'm on 8.7.5 right now with twrp and magisk and I'd like to keep updating as new builds come out. Can I just do what I always do? Download 8.7.12 rom, flash with twrp, flash lazyflasher and magisk?
Also would flashing other stuff risk bricking, like camera2 API zip, or YouTube vanced?

8.7.5 doesn't have Anti-rollback feature while 8.7.12 (All roms with 8.7.6 n above) has it
So u better dont update to newer versions of Official MIUI firmware to avoid issues

Yes I know, but I don't want to be stuck in 8.7.5 forever because I doubt Xiaomi will go back on this. I like Miui and I don't have any intention of downgrading either, I just want to be able to keep TWRP and root.

So far, and as of today, we have very limited options for H990DS, but I think we all are hoping to get to a stage where we can get a rooted OREO situation.
Current and (hopefully) future options for H990DS are:
Rooted / TWRP
Based on Stock
Super Rom (Nougat 7.0)
Super Rom (Oreo 8.1) No such thing yet - Update: @dudeawsome is currently working on it.
Flashable ZIP, debloated and root access OREO ROM(Oreo 8.1) No such thing yet - Update: A few nice developers are working on making this happen, I am trying to help as well.
Custom
LineageOS-15.1 (Oreo 8.1)
Resurrection Remix v6.2.1 (Oreo )
Stock
Using the H990 Dirty Santa to root stock roms before 31 Dec 2016 then updating to latest Nougat rom using KDZ Writer without losing root
Using the H990 Dirty Santa to root stock roms before 31 Dec 2016 then updating to latest Oreo rom using KDZ Writer without losing root Tested and not yet possible
Using the H990 Dirty Santa to root stock Oreo rom Tested and not yet possible
Stock rooted H990DS 20a Oreo flashable by @dudeawsome YAY
NOT-Rooted
Well... Use any official kdz from here:
Single Sim H990 from: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h990-firmwares/firmwares/
DualSim H990DS from: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h990ds-firmwares/firmwares/
Why Root V20?
Remove ads
Mods
Only acceptable way to fix screen ghosting
Better backup and restore
Custom Roms
Options and more options
Why Stock based over custom roms forV20?
Less bugs
Second screen working better
Some links to consider:
TWRP 3.2.3-2 for H990 - get latest, info, updates and discuss more using this XDA link
H990DS Stock Firmware list
H990 (single sim) Stock Firmware list
Screen Burn in fix
Notes :
Downgrading to Nougat is possible for H990DS using LGUP
Just hoping one of those options for Oreo root becomes reality soon. I am personally hoping for an up to date (oreo) Super Rom or similar based on stock Roms.
This is super helpful - thank you!
Just an addition you could make - The H990 single SIM should be using firmware from here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h990-firmwares/firmwares/
Perhaps seperate it in the NOT-Rooted section for H990ds and H990?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-patch-lgup-to-unlock-features-t3652222
Another chance?
ou can select individual partitions....
If you are upgrading this way, you will lose root, but you don't have to lose TWRP.
Select all partitions, and then UNSELECT:
recovery
aboot
When you reboot, your phone will be on whatever KDZ you flashed, but you will still have the engineering bootloader, and TWRP.
IF you let the phone completely boot to the OS, it will wipe out recovery, so immediately boot to TWRP and flash Magisk again.

It worked for me with Nougat, with Oreo not proven.
@epicuros yeah, that I know even with KDZ Writer, but I can confirm it doesn't work with Oreo.
Update: I have flashed H990DS with the stock Oreo and downgraded it successfully to Nougat using LGUP with no issues. So downgrading won't be a problem at least for H990DS
I am currently testing a way to get root on Official Stock Oreo rom on H990DS.
I am assuming, all the partitions needs to be written are: /system, /firmware and /cust am I correct?

It worked?
You have to select in DL partition all and then unmark aboot and recovery.
Before it is restarted remove the battery and boot in recovery. From there put a kernel for the 990 and compatible with Oreo. Look in the kernel forum.
Afterwards from recovery, install Magisc.
That is the process for Nougat in Oreo I have not tried it.

I have managed to boot Oreo with an unlocked bootloader, but failed to access TWRP (now I just released I should have reflashed it in fastboot) I am having issues with static screen and kernel crashes.
Did you remove the battery before it restarted, immediately after installing Oreo ?. And then you started in TWRP?
Have you installed the latest version of TWRP compatible with Oreo?

I think no, and I have tried a few and ended up restoring backing which is a good idea (taking backups before mods) some mods are (oreo friendly) and it will usually say that in the description of the mod
