I have a Verizon Ellipsis 7 which is rooted. I've been cleaning out the app drawer by freezing apps and using Hide App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkyeah.apphider&hl=en).
The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to get the Wi-Fi icon to hide. There is no good reason to have this icon as I can easily access the wifi options by navigating from the Settings icon. I can't freeze it because it's part of Settings.apk which adds BOTH the Settings icon and Wi-Fi. I've confirmed this by just moving Settings.apk out of the apps folder and both icons disappear.
If I use Hide App and select it to hide the Wi-Fi icon then it hides Settings and the Wi-Fi icon remains.
I happen to like the launcher I am currently using and would rather not have to change it to remove this icon from the app drawer. Does anyone know a way to remove this icon?

Click to collapse
Maybe decompile settings.apk and remove the image and the text associated to the WiFi icon then re-sign and compile the app then overwrite the existing settings.apk with the newly modified settings.apk.
Or, if this icon only shows with the launcher you're using and doesn't show when you aren't using that launcher then it's probably something you'd have to modify in the launcher's .apk instead of settings.apk.

Since Hyperdrive RLS13 came with Icon Changer Free, I've done some customizing to my home screen. Everything has gone well up to the point where I wanted to change the icon for the 'Apps' icon. There's no such item listed via the Icon Changer Free menus - is there a pretty quick and easy way to change this icon? I'm using the Neon Blue GO Launcher icons if that matters.
I'm also trying to figure out if it's possible to change the icons used for the lock screen. My best guess at this point is that I'd need to pull the apps onto my PC, change the icon there permanently, then re-load them to my phone? Is that correct?
Thanks in advance for any help!
One new thing to add. I removed the icon names with Icon Changer Free, yet when I reboot, all the icon names are back. Any fix for this as well?
I edited build.prop to enable on-screen navigation bar. After reboot, the app drawer and phone icon have disappeared.
My phone is running rooted stock 5.1.1 with Tochwiz.
Is there a way to bring the app drawer back?
The attachment shows how the problem looks like.
Is there a way to remove/hide icons in the statusbar area, i.e. the power saving icon, data saver icon, etc.
I'm rooted and have xposed installed.
Thanks
Just get System UI Tuner from the Play Store, and select which icons you do/don't want to appear on the status bar.
When I use any app to hide the status bar on my rooted 7 Pro it will work until I lock the screen then it will stop working until I disable and re-enable.
Nova launcher hide status bar on homescreen always works.
And then when the statusbar is hidden, the keyboard when it slides out, will either push the top of the app out of bounds, or the app will not condense and the keyboard will hide the bottom of the chat including where the text is going.
Is this a common problem with hiding the statusbar, or is this an internal issue I am facing.
-Thanks
No particular reason, but i just don't want it there.
okay, so there's is this edit option on the status bar, click that and from there you can modify it, simply drag the hotspot icon from top to the bottom where the rest of options like Cast etc are present, for custom roms it will be the edit option and for MIUI it will be the more option.
hit thanks if works !!
