Bootloader unlock and Root instructions very unclear, please help - Sony Xperia XA Questions & Answers

So, I'm trying to follow the instructions, but when I get to this following part, I get completely stumped.
rrvuhpg said:
4. Follow the official Sony instructions for getting the unlock code from [here](https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/). Further paste the code in BLU menu of Flashtool. You can also find video instructions [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lKWd5LlUoA).

1. What the heck does it mean, "paste the code in BLU menu of Flashtool"?? I need step by step instructions on how to do that.
You see, because when I click the "BLU" button in flashtool, it doesn't bring up a place to paste something into.
The "further video instructions" didn't help AT ALL, because the video never uses Flashtool!
So, then, at that point, I tried just using the instructions of the video instead, but when it got to the part about installing the fastboot driver, my folder Android\sdk\extras\google, DOESN'T HAVE A "usb_driver" folder! How do I get it??
I got my bootloader unlock code.
I have installed flashtool.
I have installed android studio (because I couldn't figure out how to just install "sdk tools")
I downloaded the adb drivers file, Xperia_XA_driver.zip, and unzipped it, and have the folder Signed_so0116_driver on my desktop.
I downloaded the fastboot driver zip, and have the android_winusb.inf file.
I have no idea what to do with them.
I have downloaded the file boot-XA-SS-33.2.A.2.73.img. I don't know what to do with it.
I have downloaded the superSu zip from their website as linked.
I have downloaded recovery-TWRP-XA-SS-EXT4-3.1.0.img as linked, because I have the single SIM.
I tried using the Flashtool-drivers.exe found in the drivers folder of Flashtool, but it didn't have the drivers for the Xperia XA!
How do I tell flashtool that I have the drivers??
Please help me, someone.
Please, provide me some step by step instructions on what exactly to do with my bootloader unlock code and the drivers (and other files) I have downloaded.
Thank You.

Sorry about my English, but:
1. If you got your phone's driver in your computer, when you plug your phone into PC, it will auto install driver so your PC can detect your phone (MTP, ADB, etc...)
2. Fastboot driver will help your PC detect your phone when your phone in fastboot mode.
3. If you have ADB, you will abe to flash *.img file into your phone. modified boot.img file will help you not bootloop when you flash recovery file. If you want to root your phone, you must flash that boot.img file and recovery.img file via fastboot, then you will able to install SuperSU via Recovery.

Please, how can i flash cwm 6.0.19 manually?

Hello, please be patient with me. I need to install a cwm to change a korean rom, but when i go to the market and install the rom manager, when i click, says that my phone is not on the list. My phone is a korean vega 5 im-t100k and i've found a download web for this phone http://mizal.net:82/pantech/NO.5. And i've found this CWM_6.0.19_For_T100K.zip to download. ok, when i decompress, it appears a directory with 6 files: adb.exe, fastboot.exe, AdbWinApi.dll, AdbWinUsbApi.dll, installer.bat and recovery.img. Well, i've rooted my phone with unlock root and superuser works ok. I've installed adb in my windows 8 and i have access to my vega 5. Ok, I connect windows 8 with my phone in debuggin mode and transfer files with no problem. Ok, i've opened the directory with the 6 files and clicked on installer, it appears the terminal and says is looking for device, but nothing else. Please i've been looking information all around the web but it's all a mess. Please someone would be so kind to tell me how to do it step by step?. Thank you very much in advance, i'm desperated.
You need to have the phone's drivers installed on your computer. Try connecting the phone in USB Debugging mode and install the drivers. You can check the device manager in control panel to see if you have working drivers or not.
Let me know if it didn't work.

[GUIDES] TWRP 2.3.6.0 / Root / Uninstall ChainFire3D for Lenovo A369i

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you brick your phone. And I am sorry if I posted it on the wrong spot.
Anyways, a while ago I had a terrible accident for my phone. I installed ChainFire3D on my A369i which is running 4.2.2. And since ChainFire3d is not compatible with JB, so, I am stuck in the boot screen. This is a very big problem, for the phone is a new model - no roms, no firmwares, no updates. But, I managed to fix everything. And I decided to put up a thread in case I forgot how I did it. So, here goes:
To fix it, first, I managed to install TWRP. Here's how:
Download the USB-driver for Lenovo A369i. You should use this driver and not any driver that looks like it.
Download and install the SP Flash Tool
Download TWRP recovery for SP Flash Tool.
Unpack the archives.
Turn off phone. Remove battery.
Run SP Flash Tool.
Click File> Open Scatter-loading file ... and select the file from the folder MT6572_Android_scatter_emmc.txt that is inside the TWRP recovery file.
Click the Download button and answer Yes (Yes) to the question;
Open Device Manager from the Properties of My Computer. Get it ready.
Connect phone to PC using USB cable.
This part is tricky. Open Device Manager and browse to Other devices category. You should see Preloader being installed. But Windows could not find its drivers. So, you right click it, and click Update driver, and browse to Lenovo A369i driver folder you have downloaded. You should be fast to do this, for the phone when plug in to PC without battery will turn on and off and on and off.
If everything is correct, you will see red bar in SP Flash Tool, then yellow, then a green circle.
Reboot phone to recovery, and you now have TWRP.
Second, to uninstall ChainFire3d, I used TWRP
Under TWRP, click Mount, click System, then go back to Home page.
Click Advance, click File Manager, browse to /system/lib
Look for libGLESv1_CM.so and rename it to libGLESv1_CMcf.so
Then, look for libGLESv1_CM_ORG_CF3D.so and rename it to libGLESv1_CM.so
Then, click chmod and change it to 644.
Look for libGLESv2.so and rename it to libGLESv2cf.so
Then, look for libGLESv2_ORG_CF3D.so and rename it to libGLESv2.so
Then, click chmod and change it to 644.
Reboot and wait. Phone is fixed.
Next, was to root it. Here's how:
Use motochopper exploit.
Unpack zip file..
Enable USB Debugging mode.
Connect your device to your PC via USB.
Explore to extracted directory and run run.bat

After I upgraded my desktop to windows 8, I am

Acer Predator 8 TWRP 3.0.2

TWRP 3.0.2 for Acer Predator 8 ported by Ruben. - If you like my work please donate here, it will also give me a boost to make more things for this device : https://www.paypal.me/RubenCraveiro
----------- -----------
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROOTING AND UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER:
After flashing TWRP 3.0.2, use the SuperSU 2.46 flashable zip, do NOT use latest version or will result in a bootloop. Good Luck and have fun with rooting. Unlocking bootloader will delete all your data, so please make a backup first. Thank you.
----------- -----------
CREDITS
And also, before anything i would like to say thanks to @arjaylzo for telling me the name of a device with TWRP which helped making this update possible.

For ADB Folder: download this and extract to your main drive(C:/): https://goo.gl/ZTrfBb
2- Unlocked Bootloader (you need requirement 1 to do this)
Instructions for Unlocking bootloader: Go on settings, about device, press build version several times till it says your a developer, go back to settings, press Developer Options, and enable OEM Unlocking. ----------- -----------
New TWRP bugfix update! Now you can flash stock rom on TWRP without bricking! Download Page updated!
----------- -----------
BUGS:
1- adb shell command needs to be sent before system partition is mounted or it will give an error, after doing adb shell you can mount system and do all the modifications you need.
2- You cant flash any img on twrp it gives an error, im trying to fix.
3- Backups do work, but everytime twrp restarts, the device name seems to change (which means that on /TWRP/BACKUPS/devicename/backupsinside/ changes every reboot so you have to go get the backup inside the old devicename folder and put on the new devicename folder).
----------- ADITIONAL NOTES -----------
Im leaving an unsecured boot image because system seems not want to boot android if anything seems changed. So please if system does not boot after flashing twrp/rooting, flash the unsecured boot img on fastboot
----------- -----------

C:\adb is where my adb and fastboot commands are.. on the downloaded files from Step 1 only the SuperSU zip is needed on the tablet so that you can flash it later on with twrp, the rest you leave on pc and use fastboot to flash TWRP, unsecured boot image, etc...

make sure you didnt put a folder inside the adb folder instead of the actual file and make sure your writing the right name of the file..

If you flash stock rom, i think you have to reinstall stock recovery, the rom itself already brings stock boot.. after flashing stock recovery it should boot since no modifications have happend

On step 4 You need the fastboot files, (adb & fastboot) just search how to install adb and fastboot drivers, choose the directory where to install them and place the needed files inside that folder and open a command prompt on that folder so you can flash the files.

How to install TWRP without Bootloader unlocking !!

WARNING: Before attempting this process to your device, do note that by unlocking your bootloader and modifying your device with anything, ROMs, etc... you are NOT risking voiding your warranty! I am NOT responsible for what you do to your device either, so follow these instructions at your own risk. Make sure you know what you're doing, it's best to understand the process rather than just copy and paste commands and such.
This method uses a firmware flashing tool to install TWRP, I am
using QPST to install it, but you can use any Qualcomm firmware flashing tool.
1. Download and install the following:-
->Adb and fastboot driver
->QPST
->Your device’s pc suite
2. Download the latest official firmware and the latest TWRP recovery for your device. Extract the downloaded firmware.
3. Go to ADB folder in C drive and press “shift + right click” and click open cmd shell here or powershell in case of windows 10.
4. Connect your phone to pc and type: adb reboot edl
now your device should be rebooted into download mode or edl mode.
5. Rename the downloaded TWRP to recovery, copy it and paste it in your extracted firmware files and click replace.
6. Open the Qfil flashing tool.
7. Select flat build and click browse in select in programmer path, click all files and select prog_emmc_firehose_XXXX_ddr.elf from the firmware folder.
8. After all done click Download
9. Done you have successfully installed twrp without unlocking the bootloader.

Is booting to edl mode working? I've read it's not accessible by users in one of comicsdans thread
Anyone tried this? I was unsuccessful. My phone reboots to system instead of edl. Trying it in fastboot mode doesn't help. QFIL has the "download button" inactive. Any thoughts? Thanks
Try booting into edl from Windows using command similar to adb reboot edl. Should work.
Links required
Kindly provide the download links
No edl mode for the poco f1 , you have to use the test point method for this
Is edl mode the same as Download Mode?
In that firmware folder there are no files by the name that was given nor there a edl mode. If I go into fastboot (download) mode the program doesn't pick up my device
Will it work for every device or just poco..?
Please reply
Can you also provide a video here . I was unsuccessfull in installing it and almost ruined my phone .

You're supposed to flash the img to the phone via adb, not it's content. Flashing in itself is decompressing an img file and moving the files into your root folder. So you're not supposed to open up the TWRP.img file, you're supposed to put it as it is in your adb folder, plug your phone (with USB Debugging enabled), "adb reboot bootloader", "fastboot flash TWRP.img" and there you go

You may have the driver's correctly installed but Windowsay not ne selecting the correct driver when you connect your device. You will have to go to Device Manager, boot your device to fastboot, connect your device, right click on the driver for your phone, select update driver, then choose to select drivers from files already on your computer, continue choosing the options that allow selecting the driver from drivers already on your PC, when you get to where it finally shows a list of drivers, you will be looking for "android bootloader interface".
