Honor 6X Nougat random reboots - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

I recently upgraded to nougat and emui T and have noticed random reboots at any moment if phone hasn't been restarted for a week or so, I couldn't figure out what triggers it but has anyone been experiencing any random soft reboots?

I suggest you to backup all your contacts and files and perform a factore rest. You can get a clean EMUI5 which will fix a lot of issues.
Another possibility is that some of your apps are not compatiable with EMUI5 or Android N... I believe EMUI 5 is more likely. If this is the case, you can only wait for app dev to upgrade their apps.

Do a factory reset

I'm on 10 days without a reboot, you need to do a factory reset

I did a reset right after upgrading, stop repeating the same useless advices without knowing the stuff properly everyone.

[Q] Random reboots after 4.2.2 official update

Hello, after installing official 4.2.2 update (not ROM's or something, just while on Wi-Fi in phone poppen up window about upgrading my android version) and a day later it started randomly rebooting. It doesn't matter what you are doing (playing something, keeping locked screen, or charging) it still reboots around once in 2 hours or so. I tried hard reset or just wipe the cache but that doesn't solve the problem, but after doing hard reset for a day or so there are not so many reboots (maybe coincidence, i don't know).
I tought of downgrading to 4.1.1, but i'm a bit scared of doing that since my warranty is still valid. I tried bringing phone to warranty but all they did was hard reset and that's all.

downgrading to your country's firmware is okay
won't lose your warranty

I know about that, but what I am afraid of is bricking it while downgrading.

Downgrading cant hard brick your phone just soft brick. And soft bricks can be undone.

I am bumping this thread because I am experiencing the same problem. My phone reboots if it is running a task while my screen is off. When I am downloading a big file and I turn off my screen for example, the phone just turns off.
if all they did for you was hard resetting your phone so why do you care about warranty?

[Q] Factory reset? phone keeps rebooting.

So I have a Motorola Droid Ultra, rooted, running 4.4 Kit Kat, on Obake 12.5.3, with SafeStrap installed. I have recently started to get random UI reboots and I have no idea what could possibly be causing these random UI reboots. Can someone please tell me, if I want to factory reset, should I use SafeStrap recovery to factory reset? and would I lose root? Or do I have to reflash my phone? (I'd prefer an easy fix while, at the same time, not have to reflash). Can someone help me troubleshoot my issue here? It would be much appreciated
Edit: In addition to the reboots, I also have another problem that has never happened before, when I go to storage settings in the settings menu, everything is stuck on "calculating"...
Here's a screenshot:

This is often caused by the cache being broken. I don't know how to rebuild the cache if you're just rooted and not unlocked. If you can find a way to clear it, then try that.
Factory reset can do this, but you might lose root (not sure).
Okay, so I am about to perform a Factory Reset through SafeStrap right now. I will give an update post after I do the reset.
Problem solved!
I did the factory reset with SafeStrap, I am still rooted, and the problem is solved!

[Q] Factory resetting my rooted phone

I rooted my Xperia L 2-3 months back. Recently the phone has been getting stuck at screen off very often. I have a hunch that a factory reset will solve the problem (as it has happened once already).
However, I'm worried that since it is rooted, a factory reset might cause problems. Is it safe to do a factory reset? Has anyone tried this? I don't want to backup any apps or anything, I'm fine with losing app data. I just want a fully functional phone.
Also, I'm still using Android 4.1. Can I update to 4.2 on a rooted phone?

[HELP] Phone keeps rebooting, factory reset and odin flash fail

Hi,
My sister has a GT-P3100, since last week the phone keeps rebooting randomly after 3 - 5 minutes most often there are also an error message about Google Play Services or other services has stopped. The phone has Samsung stock Android 4.1.2 XSE and this is the latest firmware as per Samsung website. No root nor custom firmware.
I noticed something weird also, any change made to the settings or apps are reverted back upon reboot. For example, if I set up a WiFi setting, the setting will be gone after reboot. The phone has a number of unread SMS messages too, if I read these messages all of them will become unread again after reboot.
I tried to do factory reset from within the Android setting, it did not work . Everything still intact after reboot.
I tried to do factory reset from Recovery mode, it did not work too. Nothing gets wiped out.
I tried to flash the same firmware using Odin, the NAND write was going on till about 50-55% then it failed. When I rebooted the phone after this failed flash, the phone still has everything intact. No change at all as far as I can see.
Could somebody please help to fix this issue?

Symptoms are of the emmc card bug. Will need hardware intervention. No flashing files will solve this. Get it to the repair shop, they will either replace the motherboard or will get a replacement of the emmc chip.
This is the reason no samsung tab 2 series is safe if they are on a stock rom.
I feel they have better chance on custom rom as with newer roms, this bug doesn't create a problem.

tough luck, the warranty is no more
I had Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that bricked due to emmc bug too.. I did not know this bug affected other Samsung phones/tablets
If I managed to get the emmc chip replaced, will the bug reoccurs?
Thanks for the info

How to factory reset (with twrp) without any bootloops?

Hello all,
I've read that when people factory reset within twrp they end up in a bootloop (going back to twrp). So my question is how do i factory reset without facing the same issue?
Reason i want to factory reset is that my oneplus 6 is brand new, latest OOS and the wifi/data is broken whereas when i have either of those enabled they stop working within minutes. I've read about people having the same issue but most of them got it solved via software update. But yet mine exists for some reason.
I would appreciate the help
