In india. As i unlocked the bootloader i cannot update throught mobile or pc companion.
It is possible to update through flash tool? Not sure as every one is telling about .fsc file is not available in flashtool. I'm skeptical about flashing my device.

For rooting you have to wait as he said
It takes time for newer firmware to avail a root for it
But developers will do that
Wait for 2 to 3 months and enjoy latest nougat till then
Are you not missing VoLte feature
That was supposed to be in this nougat update
Or you got it.??

Yes. I miss volte a lot.
Have tried one method to enable volte but it failed
*#*#4636#*#* there i can see volte option in disabled status, i tried to switch it on, but no use
Then i contacted sony customer care and i was shocked. They told me volte option is not available for sony xa. Since volte is a hardware we cannot enable it through software. So sad to hee that ?

They always tell lie
Cause yu company's yunicorn also has the same chipset (mediatk Helio p10)
And they give a volte update to it after that yunicorn with same chipset become a volte phone
That company's two year old phone Yuphoria also got the volte update
Yunicorn 10000 rupees only phone
And yu 5000 rupees phone
And we have 20000 rupees phone
Which has exactly same chipset that yunicorn has
But company did not want to give that software patch update so that the volte can be enabled
And they always lie when we call to customer care.
They think we indians are fool
Cause we could not do to there bogus reason
We have to admit that we are helpless
Only developers can do something for it
But there are not so many users of xa
I really love Sony mobile for I myself
But I will never recommend Sony to others
Because they really don't know meaning of customer satisfaction
I feels shame when others tell me that they have volte in there 5000 rupees phone
But I have not that feature in 20000 rupees Sony phone:crying:
When my sister in law who I recommended the xa
After she used it they always tell me that her past mobile was Samsung j7 which was better than xa
I fell hurt and become angry

Yeah man i agree. I just bought this device only for the beautiful edge to edge display. It attracts me more than any other device, even i could get a xiaomi mi which is far better and cheaper than sony. I hope here after sony dont provide any update for 2016 models.

I also bought that for its looking
But i never thought that it will be like the pirates of the carribian's mermaid which was beautifull outside but terrible inside
Its all about comprimises
May be sony will give that feature in next 7.1 update hopefully only if they are as generous as Mukesh Ambani is.
But if we put volte and low volume feature aside
It is a nice phone after nougat update.

[Q] Xperia C3 from China - How To???

Hi all,
I bought a Sony Xperia C3 from China and as you know I can't install google apps and have a banch of chinese apps.
Is there a way to wipe everything and allow gapps? DO I have to root, install the CW and upgrade the firmware?
I live in the UK so ideally I would like to make the phone as a UK one---if possible.
WHere do I find the firmware updates if required?
Thanks for any help.

John

There is a way to make your device completely UK model. Download the ftf of latest firmware of Sony Xperia C3 from HERE and then flash it using Wmshua flash tool.Your device will become completely UK model!
(If you are having problem with the language of wmshua the go to C:\Program Files(X86)\完美刷机 or the place where you have installed Wmshua then rename the folder "language" to "language_x" language will become English)
Guide to use Wmshua :
*Switch Off your mobile phone and get the Original USB Cable pf your device
*Open Wmshua and then Connect your device to PC pressing the Volume Down Key
*As Soon as connected Wmshua will install device drivers (taking about a minute), then go to "Flash" option and select the ftf file from there. And click on Start. It will take about 20 minutes or maybe more to flash the file. Wait Till It Completes.

Forgot to mention that I have the Sony xperia C3 DUAL SIM. Does it make any difference? Can I still follow the above procedure?
And one last thing: when I click the ftf link, I can see 17 files. Do I have to download all of them? Seems I can't get access to those files.
Thanks angain

Hi,
I did the flash and the device works perfectly but with one SIM.
The device is S55u and not D2502, which is the one you got the firmware.
How can I find the firmware for s55u? Also, is the firmware form russian provider?
John
iSiddharth,
I hadn't inserted the SIMs before. I did it now and the phone works with both of the SIMs, so I am good.
Tried to find the differences between the s5u and D2502 models but didn't find anything. Do you think I should do the s55u or there is no problem?

I also have this issue except I have a s55t. As far as I can tell this is a very similar model, but I can find almost no information on it. Do you happen to know if the rom you linked is compatible? I have already got CWM and root on my phone. Also do you know is there are any custom roms available for this yet (Clean lollipop is on the wishlist)?

Hi,
yes apparently the two models are very similar. I have a couple of pdfs that were showing the differences. My recollection at the moment is that there are no important differences among those products (or I didn't get it which is a possibility). I can share them with you if you wish.
I used the image from the link above and installed everything on the phone. So far (4 months or so) the device works perfectly.
I am not aware of the custom roms but to be honest I didn't try to search any. Sorry
John

Then your next solution is grabbing a program called Xperifirm. It's like Flashtool, but this one supports our phones. It will have the update you need from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...perifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142/
thnks a lot xperifirm is good app and it contains the firmware for the z3v; the problem is that flashtool doesn't have the z3v in devices list for updating or reinstall the firmware
i think i should wait for update (flashtool) and them i flash it with the 23.0.E.1.44
i just want to remove or fix the flashing Red Frame/Border in my device (the Strict Mode method does not solve it)
i found a way but rooted devices only and u knew; no root available for z3v

Z5 Generic Rom

Hi guys,
Upgraded from a Z3 to a Z5 this week.
Unfortunately the Z5 is from the Vodafone network and therefore has all their crap bloatware installed.
I've got the phone unlocked to use on o2, and was wondering if there was any way to flash a default marshmallow image on to it?? I'm not bothered about root at the moment, but just want a clean ROM on there.
It's a E6653 Z%
Bootloader unlock allowed is NO
Thanks all

Usually you can use flashtool to flash a FTF file (you can also download via flashtool > XF icon)
I like to download the russian FTFs because they have less bloatware unlike the UK versions
If ye need to know more on flashtool either ask or do some googling

Unfortunately no, this is the security update ota extracted from a TA-1004 after the download.
It's not a full firmware update as mistakenly noted on the post title, my bad!
Can it be flashed on TA-1012??

Okay bro but I don't have unlocked bootloader plus root yet and I tried flashing the June Oreo 488B to flash with OST from here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ia-8-official-firmware-links-updated-t3678487 but the file is password and no one to help with the password yet.
I like the Nokia 8 but I'm not enjoying it yet and no money to unlocked the bootloader yet also. Its frustrating not been able to use the phone well yet.

Unfortunately you can't do much with a locked bootloader.. but since you're curious you can extract the nb0 file with this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/nb0-unpacker-packer-tool-t3699464
You need to have at least 8gb of ram on your computer or else it will throw errors during the extract operation!

Maybe you can create a thread about the .Net error to document it for others to see an to get help too!
Also you should check this other thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/how-to/qualcomm-edl-entry-to-root-bl-unlock-t3821246
Look for the link on the OP and check @YasuHamed 4th post, there may be a way to achieve BL unlock!

the script which specially patches SONY KERNEL is/was popular because of the DRM FIX which is/was specific with SONY kernels only
however there is GENERAL script to perform many kernel operation by using ANDROID IMAGE KITCHEN
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
all we need with NOKIA is to
1. unlock bootloader
2. find flasher & download official firmware
3. flash kernel via fastboot ( AIK can switchoff the dmvarity)
4. flash magisk
and DONE
we should have ROOTED NOKIA 8 / 7+ whatever

Yes you right, the drmfix is really a big deal for Sony Xperias and it makes it easier for patching of kernel ing and with Sony providing bootloader unlocking officially.
I really love the Nokia 8 and Dats why I purchased it. I hope things turn around soon cos it's almost a year from date of release.

new update 55.2.A.0.630....A.2.66

any info about it yet
EU didn't even get the 55.1.A.12.28 yet
so I'm pretty pissed off about Sony
i'm still on October patch
I just flashed the UA last two versions.
I think it's not a problem from Sony the EU need backdoor that's the problem
Looks like its Android 11 , can´t wait for the EU Version:
[Updated] Sony Xperia 5 & Xperia 1 Android 11 update begins rolling out
Sony has begun rolling out the Android 11 update for the Sony Xperia 1 and Sony Xperia 5 in South East Asia and a few other regions.
piunikaweb.com
Just use flashtool 0.9.33.0 to download and flash firmware. RU is the best. It is firs to get update. Every time. I have got Android 10 on XPERIA 1 with RU firmware back in december. So the firs to get new firmwares. EU is the last or it never gets some firmwares because EU region is big region and there are many countrys and each country mast approve firmware. If one country doesn't approve firmware, no update for EU region.

The problem is that VOLTE does only work with the EU firmware in Germany, so I have to wait for the EU update.

True.
I received the update OTA on 13/1/21 while running 55.1.A.12.28 (RU) that was flashed via newflasher then wiped and restored via Xperia Companion.
It's running fine and is Android 11 and looks pretty good overall. not sure about battery life and other use benefits.
Hi,
Can someone create and share an .ftf version of 11 android, because my flashtool cant create it....stuck on loader.sin. (Customized RU from xperifirm). Model J9110. No OTA update yet...

can you push it with Newflasher?
I got great success by flashing with newflasher, then restoring with Xperia Companion then it updated on it's own after a few hours. I was on 55.1.A.12.28 Customized RU before.
Will try, soon, and reply, thanks

How did you manage to use Xperia Companion for backup and restoring? I tried and it said it stop the support service...
What is your error messages?
I didn't update phone to Android 11 using flashtool because I am on RU firmware. But flashing latest Android 10 firmware was OK. This is what I do:
Download and install FlashTool 0.9.33.0
Open Flashtool and let the device database sync .
Click on the XperiFirm icon to get a list of official Sony firmwares .
Select the your device on the left, and the select the Customization you would like to download and then
lick on the box below "Available Firmware" to start downloading.
Once the Firmware has downloaded, close XperiFirm and then let FlashTool do some processing on the downloaded firmware to create a .ftf file of the firmware in your C:\Users\<username>\.flashTool\firmwares folder.
Now click on the Flash button and choose Flashmode. Don't check anything because it will erase all your data.
When prompted, power off your phone and then hold down the volume down key on your phone and connect a USB cable from the phone to your computer. Keep the volume down key held until the notification light turns green. The flashing process will now be prepared.
If you get a prompt saying "A FSC script is found. Do you want to use it?" choose yes. An error of "those data are not in the fsc script: persist, reset-non-secure-adb" is entirely normal, so choose Yes, and let the flashing commence. If you get a prompt asking you to select a partition, select the top option for 128GB storage and the bottom for 256GB storage -- if unsure click cancel. I selected cancel. If you get "ERROR:null" then repair your phone with Xperia Companion first.
Flashing will be complete when you see "Sync status : OKAY".

All companies release new firmware outside EU/US/UK first, not just Sony. Its not because they don't care, or because they care about Russia, India, Asia more... Its because if something is seriously wrong with the firmware, they are less likely to get sued from customers from those more poor regions than EU/US/UK. Be patient and wait for the official release, or download flashtool and flash the RU version, its the same.
we'r talking about a simple security patch....it's just like updating your virus databank at your firewall on pc
no provements to the phone from Sony in a long long time !!!
