Battery Charging Problems - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Even though the device has changed the battery several times, the charging indicator remains at 0% when recharged from on or randomly, while off the percentage rises but never reaches 100%.
Sorry for my English but I'm Italian.

Your English is fine.
This happens with wired and wireless charging?

Yes, always. Also if I turn off the phone to turn it on again, I must disconnect the battery, connect it to the power outlet without this, then reset it and at this point it will turn on. Otherwise and brick.

Could need a new battery?

I changed four batteries in a month all original but the problem persists.
I don't think it's the battery.
What do I do?
Thanks in advance.

what to do to the battery after flashing new ROM???

i need some help or advice of what to do to the battery after flashing a new ROM. do i need to discharge completely? or keep it on a charge? cuz after i flashed it the battery meter was inaccurate and like it went to 97 and after soft reset back to 99 and sometimes it would stick at a certain level for a long time then after wards i lose like 10% easy...can u guys help me out? thnx alot
Sometimes you don't need to do anything. If you notice the battery meter is inaccurate, then I would discharge it until the phone shuts off, then charge it completely with the phone OFF. Once the LED this is solid to indicate 100% charged, then turn it on. If you need a phone while its charging you could just take the SIM card out and use it in another phone.

Battery problem :(

This is my first time encountering this problem.
I was charging my Note yesterday when it reached 15% of the battery. However, even though it was connected to the charger and the charging icon appears, the battery life of my Note is decreasing until it drains the battery. I charged it overnight but unfortunately, It only charged up to 3%. I already sacrificed my files just to reset/reboot the Note but the battery won't still charge properly.
I've tried almost everything. Wiped the cache partition, rebooting the tablet, and uninstalling everything. But the battery stays at 0%. Is it the motherboard? Hope not.
I highly doubt that it's the connector/charger because the lightning icon appears when I connect it. I'm a newbie. I really want to identify the problem and solve it.
Define problem first to eliminate .
Replace battery or use another charger to rule out battery/charger problems .
Clean usb charging port .
100% charged battery that drops quickly >. factory reset first test again .

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier dead

Hi all.
I've had my gear for about 2 years now.
One day, about a month ago I forgot to put it in the charger and the battery drained totally. After this small incident I can't get the watch to start anymore.
I'ts completely dead, does not respond when I try pressing/holding buttons, charging it or whatever. The charger starts blinking red after a short while.
I also tried to solder a USB cable to the connections on the motherboard but no reaction with that either..
I've tried to replace the battery the other day and success, it started!! But, only for an hour or so, now it's dead again, exactly like before.
The battery that sits in the watch right now is almost fully charged and measures 3.7 volts directly on the contact surfaces.
Anyone got an idea what to try next?
Note that it's completely dead and does NOT respond to any pressing of the buttons or charging it in any way.
Regards
Emil
If correct soldered wires...
Then charging via USB possible...
Try maybe for 30 minutes to charge via USB...
Check if device will be hot
Maybe Hardware damage...
You could check Service Manuals... Schematics:

Lithium battery fully charged are at "4.20V". "3.7V" is the nominal voltage (mean stay at 3.7V 80% of the time during discharge time).
Samsung Gear S3 Battery Issue Fix
Samsung S3 Frontier Learning Mode found for charging issue SM-R760. The solution (keep in the charger while doing resets) is to reset the watch 8 to 10 times and keep holding the power button and shutting it off about another 10 times. This is unusual however my battery went from 1%, 4%, 16% and the flashing red light stopped and went to 100% charge in 2 1/2 hrs. I will keep the forum informed any changes if this reoccurs. I definitely think the latest update blew-up the cache in watch and somehow takes multiple resets and power button presses to reset the functionality of Samsungs mistakes.

change battery 100% but not working power on/off
I changed the battery because it was no longer charging. Recharged and gave 100% charge but now the power button does not turn on. He charges but does not care. Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Were you able to resolve this issue? Looks like I did the same as well.
I got the same problem. :crying:
It is supposed to have 100% battery but in about two minutes it drops to 90% and turns off.

Xperia Z5 not charging properly, random restarts and faulty battery indicator

I just had my Xperia Z5's battery replaced due to it bloating up. After two weeks, I noticed that the battery indicator isn't working properly.
It would go down from 100% really fast (even during standby - not using the phone) but stay around 30% down for a really long time. No difference in usage. Then it also started restarting on its own even during standby. I would check my phone and it would need me to input my pin saying its required after a restart. Another instance, I was still typing out a text message and it restarted on its own. The battery was around 60% before it restarted but after it turns on again the battery indicator showed that its at 40 something %. I don't think the battery would drain that much just from restarting.
Also, just today, it won't charge properly anymore. It will detect the charger, like it would make the sound when you plug it in but the battery icon won't change to the charging icon and the battery will continue to drain. When turned off, it would show the Sony logo then battery level on the screen but will stay at 0% or whatever % it was left at and will continue draining.
So my phone just died earlier and I just went to plug it in hoping it would still work. The battery was stuck at 0% for the longest time so I just went and left it for a few hours. Coming back to it, I noticed that the LED indicator is green. I pressed the power button and it showed 100%, then I tried turning on the phone. It still turned on, showing 100% on the battery icon and could be used like usual.
I can still use the phone, barely, but this issue is really annoying. I'm not even sure if the next time it drains it would charge again.
So far, I've tried:
using a different cable and charger
doing a factory reset
doing a repair via Xperia Companion
But the issue still persists...
Is there anything else I can do on my end to fix this?
You should replace your battery
Hello.
I'm sorry to hear that your Xperia Z5 got this problem.
Here're some personal experiences:
1.Just replace a battery for it.My Xperia Z5 had same issue last month:Its battery lasts for only 2 or 3 hours, and charges much faster than before. Then I think maybe the battery life loss too much,so I bought a battery from taobao(A Chinese Website),then everything's fine just as when I buy it.
2.According to your description, maybe the sub board(It's responsible for charging and data transmission)is broken too.You can find a used one at ebay.
That's all.I hope this message can help you.And...I'm a Chinese so maybe you can't understand my Chinglish(It means "Chinese English" )...Sorry for that.

Need help, weird battery problem

Hi everyone, im having a problem with this phone:
1- Charging the phone never reach 100% in one charge, it always stops charing at a random number, for example 70%, no matter how much time i let the phone charging it never goes past that. The solution is unplug and plug again, then it reaches 100%.
2- The number 1 is not a big deal but this is. The phone automatically turn off at a random number again, let say 66%, and i cant turn it on. If i connect the phone to the charger it says 0% battery. Is not like the % freezes at 66% and i use it all day and then turn off. For example, i have the phone at 100%, i start using it and i see the % going down like normal and after an hour or two of using it suddenly turn off and im not able to turn it on again because the battery is at 0%.
I tried:
Hard reset, wiping cache, data.
Hard reset, wiping cache, data and installing the latest stock rom.
New battery.
Different charger.
I have no idea what else to try, anyone have a clue?
Thanks!
I think the battery is broken, also had the problem. Then I bought me one on Ebay for 9,99€ and now everything is good again.
Try using a -known- good cable and charger.
Make sure the port contacts are clean and debris free. Always charge with screen off.
You can also try powering the phone off and see if this alters its charging pattern.
My best guess...
When it auto shuts down again pull the battery and measure its actual voltage to determine if it's at about 6%.
If actual voltage indicates it's at 6%* may be a bad battery (limited capacity) or a hardware failure (shutting the charge cycle down prematurely).
If battery actually has 20% or higher when the phone shuts down) it indicates a hardware failure in the phone.
If battery temp exceeds about 102°F during charging the phone will abort the charge; make sure this isn't the cause. A hot charging battery in a cool room could indicate a battery or hardware failure. If battery temp exceeds 107°F or so in operation the phone may also auto shutdown.
Excessive cold (>32°F) will effect battery capacity severely.
Don't charge a cold Li battery (under 70°F).
Never charge if at or below freezing**.
Li's like a charge temp range of 80-95°F
They prefer frequent, short mid range charge cycles (40-65%) vs topping them off beyond 80%
*hunt down the voltage/% charge for this battery
**can cause Li plating which will permanently degrade the cell
