Hi guys, I had the misfortune to encrypt my cell phone using the LineageOS rom, after I did this with the penultimate version I could not undo it.
I know most speak to go backp - Restore and ......... bla bla bla, but mine does nothing when I click the
Also accessed by twrp and it does not format anything, in all the options it insucefull
I ended up updating it to the last version and now it also does not access the twrp, in case I try to access it it gets the Lenovo logo screen and does nothing else, it needs to take the battery to be able to call again.
Can someone help me????

So...this is what happened,
I was trying to install Chainfire3D on my phone, foolishly ignoring the warning "This might result in your phone to be stuck in boot, and you must install a new firmware". Then like the warning said I did get stuck in boot, so I was hoping to find a new way out by wiping EVERYTHING (bad Idea I've ever made) on my twrp. So now I get this warning "Are you sure, you don't have a OS installed" every time I want to go into Download or just restart the system.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

Hi
About what device are we talking about?
Thanks
I am really not sure what happened to the phone but I will tell all I did that might have connection to the current sitiuation.
I rooted the phone a while back , no issues with root.
As internal memory is low on this phone (4 gbs) I used link2SD.I have used in past with other phones never had a issue but this time the apps which were linked magically disappeared and some wont start saying " Application has stopped working " , So I decided to , oh wait I forgot I also had TWRP custom recovery on this phone too , no issues happened with it either, yet. So I decided to restore to a backup I made with TWRP a few days ago, I have previously done this thing and it worked perfectly unlike this time.I booted to recovery then restored to that backup but when I booted back the device wouldn't start! All it was showing was the boot screen(circles moving in weird pattern) I waited around 3 hours then I decided to factory reset , I took out the battery (BAM I did a mistake here I guess) went to recovery did a normal factory reset then again I was at the boot screen looking at circles This time I gave a around 10 hours but it still didnt load up , then I took out the battery again next what I see it when I try to start my phone NOTHING WILL HAPPEN only screen turns on for like few miliseconds showing only back screen (NO KARBON LOGO OR ANYTHING) and goes off again. I tried pressing Vol Up and choose recovery mode but it wont let me go in recovery it turns off again as soon I choose okay (RECOVERY DONT LOAD AT ALL NOT EVEN THE LOGO). Please explain what happened to phone and how can I fix it. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Hi, I'm in a bit of a rage right now. Need my phone for work, and also afraid of loosing all the pictures and videos I've taken
So my phone has worked perfectly for months, updated several times, but today after the last update it's stuck on the boot logo, the Samsung one.
I've tried hard reset with Power+Down, it just reboots to the same logo and stays there forever. I also can't get into recovery mode with Power+Up+Home, it just gives me a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it for 1 second then boots back to the samsung logo. Tried Kies 3, it doesn't recognice the phone at all, tried everything in there.
The only thing I can access is the Download mode Down+Power+Home, I have no idea what to do there, I've read about Odin but that looks like some NASA-stuff way above my knowledge, isn't there just a way to get it back to previous version? Orginal, stock and all that? Don't wanna mess with roots if that can be done
I'm out of ideas, please help me, are all my data gone? Pictures, video etc? :'(
Help please
*Sorry for bad English, not my native, but I hope it got trough.
Sounds like an update gone wrong. Restoring the phone isn't so hard but saving your pictures and data is harder in most cases. You can try using Smart Switch and see if your device shows up on failed updates, maybie it can repair the installation. You can also use Smart Switch to restore the phone completely, but this DELETES everything on it. If you haven't rooted phone and have warranty, I'd return it to Samsung with strict instructions that phone broke when software update and that you want to keep your data/pictures. If the phone is rooted there are ways to extract data from the phone memory but I'd only do that as a last option.

Yeah, I did the upgrade with modelname and S/N trough Smart Switch, it worked, but all data was lost including all my contact phone numbers, hade over 350 :| don't think they are synced either? :|
Anyway, glad the phone works, will never install these stupid updates again, never noticed a single improvment after them anyways
Stock Galaxy S7, no root, no dubious apps, only AirWatch Agent: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airwatch.androidagent required for installing a corporate email client on the personal phone.
Everything worked fine for months, until yesterday, when the app AirWatch crashed, and would not start.
The user decided to reboot the phone. On the reboot, the phone got stuck on the second Samsung logo animation.
Wipe cache, force restart, reboot, reboot bootloader were tried, hoping to fix this boot issue, but without success. The phone still stays stuck at the Samsung logo animation.
What I'm looking for: to avoid phone ROM reflashing, because it has no backup and the data on the microSD card is encrypted.
I want to recover the personal data, by any means.
Any suggestions on how to achieve this?
Thank you.
If you can't flash stock, and have already wiped cache, and the guy doesn't have a backup (dumb), then there's not much else you can do really
I'm not sure which part of the phone the encryption key is stored, but you could try flashing just the Bootloader part of the ROM with ODIN
Also not sure if flashing the same stock ROM over the top, but using HOME_CSC instead of CSC to avoid the factory reset, would mess up the encryption, but as a last resort it would be what I would do
Backups are good, if the data is so important to encrypt I can't see why it would not also be backed up
I understand your point and I agree with it.
As a sidenote, that encryption was required by the app AirWatch, not by the phone's owner.
We'll try those steps as a last resort, but for the moment, we're gathering information, since most of the options are a "no way back" process.
For example, I'm thinking about a way to inspect the boot process, and alter it if there's something there that hangs.
Could this be possible? Is there any documentation about this?

You could trying running a logcat with the phone connected to USB during boot, not sure if it will connect to adb though, worth a shot
https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
If it works it should show you what it's hanging on, no idea how you would fix it though without a custom recovery
Alright, I ran the restore factory settings from the phones' official settings, it rebooted in TWRP asking me if I want to keep the system modifiable to what I checked yes and rebooted the phone. Then the phone booted and there was a message saying that the phone cannot be set up due to the data being encrypted (something along those lines), then I checked to keep the system read-only cause TWRP prompted me again but the same message popped up. Then the same "data encrypted window appeared" and I, who knows why, decided to wipe internal storage in TWRP and the phone is now stuck on the blue "Honor" splash forever and boots again if I shut it down manually. I can shut it down via TWRP.
Don't really know what to say other than I really don't know what I'm doing and I was just hoping to format my internal storage quickly so that I can swap my phone with a family member. I'm really disgusted with how I approached this whole scenario and I need help to fix my phone if possible. I can access the internal storage thanks to TWRP and the only folder there is TWRP.
Facts:
1. Did factory reset over official settings.
2. Did very stupid things, then wiped internal storage for the finale.
3. Phone is stuck forever blue splash screen and keeps restarting if I turn it off.
4. I have accesss to TWRP and can mount internal storage.
5. I should have no business owning a rooted phone.
6. The firmware on was(is?) BLN-L21.
Please help.
I was able to unbrick it. Please delete/lock this thread.
