I'm having issues receiving notices. I have to open the app to see if I received a message. It's set as my default too. Thanks
Check out this app, I paid around three bucks for the premium features. Always delivers, works great in my S8+ and my Pixel XL.

Would whomever I'm messaging need to download this too?
Well, just give it a chance. Settings>Apps>three dots up right your screen then select default app and check Yaata as your SMS default app. This is a better option for SMS, better than Google Message, better than Textra, better than Signal.

Does it have enhanced messaging features? Like know when other person is typing or read your message?
No, I check out, doesn't have enhanced messaging features. My e-mail app got the enhanced features, so I know what's like. Maybe Signal SMS got it, I don't remember sharp.

How do I disable the haptoc feedback from the HTC Calculator Application? I already have haptoc feedback off yet it vibrates still.

Unless the app is recompiled, there is no way to change it. It is very annoying.

Get the free version of RealCalc from the play store, fantastic calculator and has a lot of features. I find myself needing its conversion features a lot, and you can turn the vibrate off. There's a paid version too which ends up giving you a crazy amount of features, which I bought purely to support the devs.

I have an unrootetd S5, just donwloaded the real calc app, but don't see an option to disable vibrations. Where is this done?

You dug up a two year old thread for that question? It's right in the settings, you can't miss it.

I've searched the play store, but am still finding it difficult to find the app I'm looking for.
I used to have an app back on the Touch Pro 2 called Power SMS that allowed me to see how often I texted someone, how many texts have been sent during a certain time frame, which day of the week I get most texts.. and stuff like that.
Here's a screenshot I was able to find

Have you tried Friday? It might have what you are looking for.

Hmm, that app seems to be more of a timeline kinda deal, not really what I was looking for.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
There might be some features like what you want in a SMS app like Chomp or Handcent.

I used to have an app like these that showed texts and calls by day and could even break them down by hours. Ill look through some of my old backups and see if I can find it.

Well now I know who I apparently call way to much. It is someone else's girlfriend. Lol woops?
I don't even remember talking to her on the phone anytime recently.

Although somewhat limited, good fun can be had with S Voice. BTW, I installed S Voice on my Note 2 through an APK.

You can have even better "conversations" with siri on the iPhone.
Useless thread, since S-Voice doesn't work on the Nexus 5. Why don't you post on the Note 2 forum?
I also prefer functionality over talking to a robot, but that's my opinion.
Actually years ago before I got an S3, I was so excited for S Voice. After getting it though and using it for a few days I realized it really isn't good. I'm sure it has improved in the last two years but I still prefer google now/search. Also because it gets constantly updated. That goes for siri as well. It's kind of dumb that siri only gets updated once a year.

Exactly. This has nothing to do with the N5. Won't even work without Touchwiz framework...

Nice. Would be interested to have an option to connect to desired person.
For example, via IMEI, or if that is too much privacy intruding, maybe something else.
In the email app and messaging app there used to be in the setting a way to set a delay that gave time to cancel/edit the message. I can't find those. See the pic from S5 stock message app

I agree! Was hoping some variant had this still available, like how the AT&T variant still has the option to disable the capacitive button lights in settings.

I'm running Verizon variant, and the email delay is no longer available. I guess I'll have to censor myself before clicking send in the future.
you can use "schedule message"....you can sit the time to send the message.....it's better than nothing
Try pressing and holding the send arrow when sending a test. Not sure about email.
Come to think about it, I use Messenger+ app from VZW, so it may not be in the Samsung messenger app
