Does your Honor 6X overheat with normal use? - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

This probably is the normal temperature, but something seems weird to me with this phone. While it has the screen off, it gets cold very fast and feels "good" on the hand. Right when I power it on and do some task (no need for gaming, Facebook or Chrome is enough) this gets hot fast. Is this normal with this phone? My previous one(Zenfone 2 Laser) only heated when under heavy gaming.

Try to check if there are system updates amd update it if you can. I asked my friend who has a 6X(does not have XDA account) and he said he never had such issues.

No updates available. And what temperatures does your friend phone get into? Mine gets to 45C, but never more than that.

I just had a conversation with my friend. He said his 6X only heats up when playing RAM hungry games and gets around 43°C. His phone was bought last January. When did you buy yours?

Mine just get very hot when playing heavy games (Asphalt etc)

I bought mine 2 days ago. Maybe its because its summer where I am and its pretty hot, but I asked because my older phone handles heat pretty well.

Have a close observation with your phone please. Heating issues may become fatal.

Well, it depends on what temperature is fatal. Is 40C(very rare to heat more than that) very bad? I should have put this on the original post...

If it doesn't pass 40° then, it's good.
However, the temperature of the room do affect sometimes

I would just suggest if you use a case, remove it for a while if it heats up. To make cooling faster.

[Q] Desire s overheating

My desire s gets extremely hot when charging and after 10 minutes gaming you can feel the heat coming from the screen. Is this normal ?
i have never felt any heat from the screen...
i have noticed the back get hot from intense usage(this is perfectly normal)
but i dont think it should get heated in 10 minutes...
wait for more replies i think you may have to send your device under warrenty
You know what...
I initialy thought it's the battery heating up(probably is also), but when i moved the phone to my cheek a could actualy feel the screen emitting heat.
This happened after about 20 min of angry birds .
P.S. No force restart though, so nothing to worry about
Same here. Thought it was only me. I did installed some app to monitor battery's heat and it reached like 45°C.
Never had heat come out of screen, only back-cover after intence use (including over cloaking cpu etc)
Just had my phone replaced.same problem.when i play pes its worse.the screen gets so hot you can burn yourself touching the screen
Yeah it happened to me initially...
But now alls k...
Phone seems cool as a ice (Kidding )...
So just give you Desire S sometime to settle in...
Yeah after some gaming i definitely can feel some heat from the screen.

Had the phone replaced twice in 3 days and all 3 phones over heat so thats the way they are meant to be so just have to limit gaming to 5 minutes.
maybe just reduce the backlight a bit?

Lol... why limit gaming to 5 minutes. 45 C is not much if you think what temp. nowdays procesors and other hardware can handle.
BTW my Desire also reached 45.C while gaming. So it's probably normal and the phone is made to handle this temp.
I had two Desires bust because of fried motherboards, so I just don't play games on the Desire S, not worth the risk
I'd have thought that with the new 2nd gen cpu, it would fix the overheating problem with the original desire.
Finally after 6 replacements in 2 weeks i have a handset that does not overheat and no more re-boots
Mine does gets overheated but never had any reboots.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
Mine reboots every now and then and kindly emails HTC to tell them.
That never happened with the old Desire which just hit the reboot loop and fried the motherboard.
I wonder if there is a thermal cutout now?
well the back is aluminium so that's probably why it gets so hot.

132 Degrees?

Wow this is a new high. I was talking on the phone with headphones in, set it down on the table, started playing words with friends and hanging with friends simultaneously over 4g, and I noticed that the SCREEN felt hot. At this point I started to download a thermometer app. After playing another round of hanging, my headphones made beeping noises and the phone went from 5 bars 4g to no service. So I checked my thermometer app and it said 55 Celsius, which I then googled to be 132 Fahrenheit!!
Is this dangerous for the internals? I think the software killed the radio because of this. I put the phone in the freezer for 30 seconds and it came out at 50 degrees and the radio worked fine again.
Yes. While the system internals may be able to handle this temperature (although it's probably close to max), it's pretty dangerous to the battery and can ruin it.

if it does this frequently its usually the sign of a defective or dying battery or possibly bad phone... they should be able to give you a new battery or set you up with a replacement no problem, I think its a common issue from what I've heard in the VZ stores near me
blazing through on my 4G Droid Charge
I ordered this from tiger direct and i can't really go two Weeks without my phone so no giving it back. Also this phone works perfectly besides this one incident and the GPS, so i would rather not get a replacement that has data dropping, for example

It depends on how you use it
If you use your device only on WiFi with low brightness, you'll get more than 6:30 Hrs SOT
If you keep your data on with most of the services running in background, you'll get 3-4 Hrs SOT
Most of the users are reporting better battery life on KitKat ROM than on Lollipop ROM with similar usage scenarios.
Suggestion: Do not compare your SOT with others because you never know what their usage is. Some of them may simply keep the screen on for reading and can get 7-9 Hrs SOT
SOT = Screen On Time
I hope this helps.

CM11S builds
44S or 05Q
I'm currently on 44S. Pretty much satisfied with the battery life. My next ROM will be sultanxda's CM13 builds once it is stable without any FCs.

Just because of hot climate in India, I have to undervolt the processor with the help of custom kernel like Franco.
So I never experience any heating issues on any KitKat or Lollipop ROMs.

Without undervolting is it going to continue overheating like this?
I'm seriously very disappointed with this phone.. It gets heat up so easily.. It remains between 50-60 now! Its not been even 24hrs since the phone arrived! What should I do? Please suggest! Should I try replacing it? Or is this the normal temperature for one plus one? If yes then I'll return it

Do not use your OPO when it's on charging. It'll heat up!
I suggest you to perform a factory reset and use your device.
If it still heats up even when it is on standby, return and replace your OPO
You can directly opt for return and replacement if you don't want to troubleshoot.
Other device at this price point is Moto X Play which is fair enough to buy!

On stand by or on charging it dosen't heat up at all! On stand by the temperature goes upto 36-37 max, but as soon as I start to use it, the temperature starts rising so easily!
On normal usage the range stays between 43-49 always! Is that normal or should I replace it? I'm sorry if I'm being hyper but honestly I saved money to buy this phone.. And now it's not working as expected

Overheat?

Does thing phone heat up when you are just surfing the web, listening to music via Bluetooth and other stuff. I do not play games on my phone. I have read on the internet and a few threads about heating up. I plan on buying this phone, but not if it heats up easily.

T-Mobile OnePlus 8t gets hot while gaming

I was playing COD mobile and the phone became increasingly hot and eventually uncomfortable to hold.
I know OnePlus has a ton of thermal cooling in this phone so I was shocked when it got hot. I'm wondering if I have a defective unit or if it's software related.
I don't remember my T-Mobile OnePlus 7t getting this hot but then again if kept it in a case most of the time. Either way for all the thermal cooling this phone has I would be disappointed.

I play cod alot more than I should hours at a time. Hours as in 3-4 hours sometimes with charger plugged in. I even have the graphics on ultra and high. And it gets warm at most part but never uncomfortable. I even remote play from geforce now and ps4 steam link and it doesn't come close to the 7 pro heat. I would send yours back in. I have the 8+ 5g from T-Mobile.
I don't do much heavy gaming but I do have it mounted on my dash in the sun while driving with screen always on.... Where I had massive heating on the 7pro with that setup this 8T is remarkably cool in comparison. So in my situation it's very good cooling idk what's going on with yours

Just got my NOT T-Mobile 8t a few minutes ago, and it's warmer than I've ever experienced when I've just been setting it up. It's not uncomfortably warm, but it is mildly disturbing. I've never had I phone get warm when it was just turned on and being set up for the first 5 minutes.
I'll have to see how it goes for the next week or so. I'm afraid if it's this warm all the time, battery degradation is going to start happening sooner rather than later.

It's ok for a phone to get warm when first setting it up. It's usually a lot going on in the background.
Mines still feels pretty hot while gaming and sometimes when just watching YouTube. So far I'm using my 7t case and I definitely don't notice it being warm with the case on.
