Will my Honor 6X purchased in India work in Canada? - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I've bought my Honor 6X in India and am going to Canada. Will my device work there and support a Canadian sim card ie is it unlocked? I bought it via Amazon.
Also I haven't received the Nougat update. Does anybody else have the same issue ?

I'm using a Honor 6x brought from Amazon India in the GTA(Greater Toronto Area) in Canada. You need to bear in mind that not all phones support all bands/frequencies. The Honor 6x from India works well on the Chatr Wireless 3G (HSPA/HSPA+) network. However it does not work on Freedom, Telus etc as those need other LTE Bands which the Honor 6x from India does not have. I would recommend that you look up the bands the Honor 6x from India supports and as long as a Canadian network supports those bands, you should be fine.

Do you have your unlock code? You need to rebrand. To BLN-L22 Indian Variant. You need an unlocked bootloader for that and need to purchase the code if you haven't already got it

ok, so no way to add the band 800 MHZ on a Chinese honor 8? even with the root?
I have another question.
If I have a warranty problem with my Chinese honor8, I must refer to the Chinese vendor or I can arrange me directly with international honor8?

It can't bee added by root, as bands are related to hardware (antenna inside the phone)

When buying from China, usually they sell it with international warranty, meaning you can take it to any customer service.
(Or at least that is what I was told by the shop lady couple of years back)

No Internationell warranty on Huawei, if u live in Belgium u need to buy it from a seller that will send it from a EU Country and then u will have warranty on it, there are a lot of Chinese seller that dispatch it from EU.

In my opinion, if you care about warranty, just buy it from EU

VOLTE update / Fix for Mate 8

Hi friends.
I have a Mate 8 (bought from UAE and being used in India)
Recently, following another forum https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...3556789/page11 and AngelicCore's guidance I have upgraded to latest NXT-L29C185B560
This is the latest version with EMUI 5.0, Nougat .
But even after this update also, there is no VOLTE support.
I have Airtel 4G and Reliance Jio 4 G SIMS, both don't work for VOLTE, but LTE (data) works...
Still looking for a solution....
Indian VOLTE isn't supported.

Try update oreo and use B810 firmware (Chinese variants). When I made upright Oreo I noticed that in version B810 (beta test) it is possible to go volts. I do not guarantee but it is possible. Try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/discussion-oreo-huawei-mate-8-t3785320/page3 . In the Varied Open to All (OTA) there are few options related to Volta

What are the C model numbers of Australian Mate 9s?

I purchased a Mate 9 off Gumtree, but it was from Vodafone and it's stuck on MHAL09C346B136. Apparently, there are virtually no updates for the Vodafone Australia version so I want to give the phone the FunkyHuawei treatment and change the model number to and unbranded Australian model that will actually get updates as B136 is freaking ancient...
So if anyone knows which model for Australian that I should be using, please let me know!
Also if you are in Perth and have messed with Funky before - hit me up, I would love to pay you to flash my Mate 9!! (Yup I'm nervous!)
I think its C636 like the australians P9 Models
Edit: Wait, the p8 is C470

Nah, C636 is Southeast Asia / Asia Pacific (but not including Australia).
That's weird because my mate 9 is single sim... It only lists dual sim there.

I don't think FH lets you rebrand to any Australian models, check their website. Also, talk to duraaraa ..
From what I understand, there are ~3 "C" models in Australia - Optus and Vodafone have their own specific models and then there is a "Carrier Free" model (sold by JB HiFi/Hardly Normal), which is actually a Dual-SIM model. The Optus/Voda is Single-SIM only..
MHA-L09C34 = Optus
MHA-L09C346 = Voda
MHA-L29C652 = Harvey Norman Dual-SIM model.
Thread about rebranding talks about these 3 models also... https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...0-mate9-to-t3554656/post70992863#post70992863
C272 / C470 / C567 - ASIA PACIFIC / AUSTRALIA
Note: C567 is USA and C470 is New Zealand.. I believe
More info on regions here:

If any option is viable, it would be rebranding to the MHA-L29C636 branding, which has been detailed on the forums here etc... That has been said to be one of the quickest to get updates... rebranding from a Single-SIM to a Dual-SIM model works and it just makes the second IMEI just show as 0's.

Ok, thanks for info... Good to know - I bought my C636 from Thailand... Can you tell me if VoLTE is working on yours (if you are using a telco which supports it) ? The setting doesn't show up on mine, and I thought it was because I bought the C636 model which is not an Australian model / wouldnt include the AU VoLTE configs.. Tho my guess is the Optus / Vodafone models include their VoLTE configs in their specific firmwares.. Telstra of course do not sell the phone - so no specific firmware available..

I have the Vodafone version and it doesn't have the setting anywhere - I am using it on Optus though, not sure if that has any bearing on the situation.
Also - Leighm0... would you be willing to have a go at rebranding my Mate 9? I only have a Chromebook and I need windows to do it I think. I own my own company and we run on ChromeOS - so everyone is using ChromeOS... The disadvantage of owning a Pixel LS!!! I'm in Perth, our offices are in Brookfield Place in the city.

Yeah - going to assume Vodafone version contains VoLTE for vodafone (if they even have support for it on their network?) ...
Sorry I'm not too comfortable messing with this phone yet, I'm still running stock without any rooting or custom recovery etc...

Telstra and Optus both have VoLTE - my wife has it on her Note 5.. shows as VoLTE icon in the status bar up the top when its available.. Theres a thread here on XDA about the option being available, but only if your provider support it AND there are configuration files for it in your "cust" partition..

BLN-21C185B361, VoLTE not supported?

Is VoLTE not available in BLN-21C185B361? this is the Middle Eastern regional firmware and the latest available (Since I purchased from UAE), I really need help because the Jio Help Service keeps asking me to enable VoLTE Calls option in Mobile Network>VoLTE Calls, when I just don't have it available! This is terrible because I also can't make any calls.

You can debrand it to Indian version to have Jio fully supported but it may not be fully functional as it will be international roaming then as Jio will latch to the local network there.

Only way to get jio volte working is via rebranding. But for that you need unlock code which you may not have and need to pay and try. Debranding guide is given in my signature

If you do not have the code, you may be out of luck or else can try getting it from paid services like dc unlocker, hcu client or Chimera tool.

Hey, sorry that you're facing this issue but Middle Eastern models of the 6X don't support VoLTE I assume, what you can try to do is debrand (possibly through rooting/flashing which will require a computer) or you can try use other carrier like Idea or Airtel.
For some reason I faced this issue but after a while it seems fixed.
