Looks like PD might be the present and future according to this article, and it's compatible with the Honor 8.

Looks good from my point of view. I do hope our phone will support that.

Looks good and I think H8 will not support that, but I'm happy with current quick charge - 50% in 30 min.

The iPhone 5S should be allot closer though
How can they list aluminum as a pro to the iPhone 5's line up of features? The build material is merely subjective, as far as likability goes on. It makes no difference from a functional standpoint. There are plenty of quality control issues that come with the metal casing on the iPhone. It's extremely scratch-prone and is far more likely to chip or face indentation upon any sort of impact on a ridged or rough surface, like cement.
Aluminium is listed as a Pro over Plastic from a Design perspective only.

Odd how they list the charging time of the S4 as 2.8 hours. My Snapdragon S4 when plugged into the power outlet charges from 0% to 100% in approximately 45 minutes..
Wow really only 45mins?
Official tests have it at 2.8

Really? I think the GS4 feels better than the iPhone 5 or HTC One and tbh the One isn't even unibodied anyways, the speakers are glued on.
Personally I think from a design perspective having a removable cover is far better and just a bonus it feels better in the hand.
My 808 feels premium and amazing as well.

AnandTech did proper testing and found that it takes 2.8. were did you find 1:45? thats much faster

Yes if you look at the whole table, the GS4 scored for having the removable battery and being more ergonomic, You also get a more solid feel with Uni body however.

AnandTech doesn't automatic qualify anything as standard test. Their result may differ from real life usage or another site's test. Just compare their battery test to GsmArena's and see what I'm talking about.
If I for instance, charge my device while it's powered off, then it's possible for it to charge faster than yours, etc

The GS4 feels solid though, like a phone couldn be more solid. If that back cover was part of the rest of the phone, I wouldn't notice the difference because it is so snug and sturdy already.

EDIT: Ah, you ninja fixed it.
Total Tech War is wrong when it's about the recharge time.
If you do some easy math, you will see why. Because the standard wall charger that comes with the phone gives us 2A per hour. And since the Galaxy S IV have a 2600 mAh battery, then you can do the math on that.
They have either charged the phone via a USB-port on a computer or a laptop. Or they have only used a 5 pin microUSB plug (the new ones are 11 pins) via the wall charger witch makes the charging slower.

My Galaxy S IV gets fully charged from around 4% to 100% in about 1 hour and 15 minutes (not exactly the time).
But again, that's the fast charge function.

Quick charge 1.0, Quick Charge 2.0 or Fast Charge

Are any of the fast charge protocols supported by the OnePlus?
If so on which ROMS and what protocols?
Thanks,

Although snapdragons with 8xx chip have quick charge 2.0 but I'm not sure if oneplus one disable it to save money. My brothers Xiaomi Mi3 has quick charger 2.0 and he's ready to get one ..I'll try when he does(it will be nice if the phone charges faster although it's still quite fast but it woudn't hurt if it was even faster)
P.S. It's very weird no one has ever tried it.. or didn't post about it. I'm searching days now to see if anyone did it and tell the story ...still nothing

Only way I found to enable fast charge on this device is to use custom kernel like boeffla and increase the input current. By default it is ~ 1.2A. By using Custom kernel, you can tweak it to ~1.9A

It does not have quick charge however I've found the battery to be very slow at draining and reasonably quick at charging. If concerned keep a "battery pack" handy.

I'm sure using a quick charge capable wall adapter like the one from the Nexus 6 etc. will provide some results, but nowhere near the "15 minutes of charge will get you 8 hours" that most newer phones claim. Shame really. Unless it's possible with a software update since the chip itself does support it.

Not necessarily. Don't get your hopes up. I think there's more to it than that. It's probably all hardware related for all I know and can't be enabled at all.

The 16,000 mah right?
So how much time untill the phone is charged lets say for 0 to 100?
If at normal speed, fast charging takes around 90 minutes.
Yep.. Never charghed form 0-100 because i usually charge it when at 25%... from that value to 100 is something around 1h30

So it's somewhere around 2 hours for full charge.
But at least i know it'll work. Thanks!
Do you think it's worth the money to buy the new power bank 10,000 with the support of fast charging?

Thanks button is here in order to avoid thanking people by post, anyway, i will stay for sure with the 16A version, if you have to buy it just think if you need a smaller and faster thing or you just need something powerful for probably one-two more day autonomy. Consider that the 16A is not light at all, feels light a brick in hand

Honor 8 on Nougat battery life without rooting, custom roms and tweaks?

I've asked this question before but I'm having a hard time choosing between Honor 8, Honor 9 and iphone SE (yeah I know ) so please help me out. Many reports of bad battery life on Nougat so I'm worried before making the jump.
How is your battery life with latest update on Nougat? I mean without rooting, greenify or other tweaks. How's standby time with wifi on and background data always on?
Thanks a lot!
I would not go for the iPhone. The iPhone has an awful display and is not too fast. The Honors are both pretty good. Honor 9 is better than Honor 8, but Honor 8 is still pretty amazing. I haven't had any battery issues myself, so idk what is all this fuss about.
OnePlus 5T. Everything is better, except SD card support and IR.

Honor phones are realy good, I have before both Honor 8 and 9. Im selling both and buy P10 plus. Because, I want better camera. Honor 8 is amazing device and receive Oreo but we ned wait. Honor 9 have already Oreo. Camera quality is same H8 and H9. H9 have just 20Mpx (I dont see any different betwen H8 and H9 quality. I was realy sad for this. In 5. december will launch new Honor phone I think will be Honor 9 pro.
So Honor 8 (except procesor) is same like 9 but maybe cheaper. I suggest u buy Honor 8 or Honor 8 pro or wait for Honor 9 pro. I dont recommend to buy Honor 9, from my experience I cant
edit: battery life on Nougat is depend which model u want buy EU and US model have good battery

Sorry but 12 hours is still too low, unless you are eating up the battery playing games and using GPS all the time. Powerful processors should also be power-efficient. I don't think the processor in Honor 8 is inefficient because by all accounts battery life was fine on Marshmallow, so either Huawei messed something up in Nougat or the quality of the batteries in some units is so bad that they degrade a lot within the one-year mark, which coincides with the time of the Nougat update. Looks are irrelevant to a discussion of battery life.

Well maybe not that bad then, if you are a heavy user. Anyway if you are happy with your device congratulations. Oh and Samsung is crap. HTC sadly is rapidly spiralling down to nonexistence.
